Agree totally , had m3 e 46, m6 v10 ,650 ci 2007 , 2012 , x6 50 2011 , m5 2012 , X6 m 2016 and a 2019 540 m sport , let me tell you , the best for me was my 2002 M3 stick , then the 540 m sport Why , the 540 , because has all on it , it’s still very fast , comfy and it’s a extremelly well done car for everything, i will increase the hp to around 450 hp , that’s more than you need Love this one
Just bought an 18 540xi m sport as my first on my own purchase. I’m 28. My parents helped me buy an 08 535i rwd sport pack that was totaled in FL. The difference in the b58 and n54 is night and day. The b58 might honestly be the smoothest engine I’ve ever driven paired with the most comfortable chassis. The one thing I don’t like, is the handling on the g30. The e60 felt like the older e39 in terms of handling but it was nowhere near as comfortable as the g30. That being said, I do feel as though there is way too much body roll for a bmw. I’d like to tame that without lowering the car even a centimeter because I live in Colorado and while it’s my second car, it’s my fun car. I’d like to drive it. Often. So I need something that can handle these dog water roads. But, I do want to eliminate body roll as much as possible without stiffer ride. Would upgrading sway bars help?
Eibach springs retain factory drive quality gives nice drop and most likely will improve cornering, slightly wider wheels with slightly wider lower profile tyres is all you need for street driving imo
Just picked up a set of dinan lowering springs. Moderate drop and the car feels much less floaty in the feedback in the wheel. Other than a full set of coilovers you probably aren’t gonna do much better. Idk about the eibachs but I believe the H&Rs provide a much more significant drop which might be a little dicey depending on the road quality in CO
Nice video! Nice car...sounds great. I have a 2019 440i M Sport...same B58 engine as your 540i. 77,000 miles. Zero issues. Get it serviced at dealership (under warranty) every 8,000 miles and it's rock solid. Had it 5 years now and still get excited to drive it. UPGRADES: Bootmod BM3 Stage 2 (91 octane) Dorch HPFP VRSF downpipe BMS filter KW Stage 3 Coilover Suspension Lowered 1.5" Niche Wheels Rear Diffuser Lower Rocker Panels Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Tires I considered Stage 3, big turbo, cold air intake, etc. to get to 550+ HP but really didn't want to go E85 only b/c I drive a lot and E85 is not available at every gas station here in Cali. The car is plenty quick and I honestly can 't image needing much more power. I already run out of road too soon at just 420 HP. :)
@@Meilingboppin I was concerned about that too but the service manager I deal with at the dealership doesn't care. I take it in every 4 months. Never had an issue.
Perhaps get the 3yr unlimited oil change package for $225. Sure you can't do 5k mi changes but 10k intervals over 3yrs is a steal for $225. Can't wait to drive a 550 someday. The n55 has been a great intro ride to BMW.
I got a 540i (base not msport), decided to drive it stock for 2 years but starting to wanna mod it. Any mods you recommend I should start with? I was thinking of catless down pipe and a stage 1 tune.
Evolution racewerks or VRSF (budget friendly) 4.5” catless down pipe, MHD stage 2 tune, BMS billet air intake. 3 simple mods to get over 420 go to the wheels.
I found a 2017 540i with 83k in miles going for 21k I’m interested but I’m concerned on the service records, car only has 4 records and there was a BIG gap on the oil change which was VERY concerning. CARFAX said it had its oil change at 19k then no records till 82k miles for an oil change at valvoline. I’m thinking what if the previous owner did the work himself? Car is in showroom condition I’m going to go look at it today
I recently switched from a 440i coupe to a G30 540i. I prefer the looks from the 4 but i do like the driving with the 5 more. More luxurious, more comfortable and the newer G series. Also switched from xdrive to RWD. So far, I do like RWD more but the winter will show more 😬
Don't waste your money on those cheesy chrome intakes. If your worried about intake temps a meth system is worth real power. You can set up to cool both intake and charge temps and you can tune alittle more timing into it.
How many miles did you buy it at? Im looking at a clean title g30 540i with 44k miles on it, they are asking $28k. What do you think? Carfax claims it got regular oil changes.
Dont listen to this guy^ he doesnt know what he is talking about. Sounds like every other casual who doesnt know anything about these cars. The B58 is an amazing platform which will last you a long time. Toyota even took a bat on it so that should tell you something ab the platform.
@@2w0nGranTurismo hey I was looking at a 70k mile Toyota Supra checked all records and everything seemed good to me. They were asking 35k and I was considering pulling the trigger. Should I do it ?
Do you know why there isn't much on the 840i, 540i lci, 740i on tuning or mods? Nobody seems to talk about those cars at all... or i usually can't find any info on upgraded turbos or mods at all in those cars.
they’re just bigger and MSRP at more so naturally the used price is higher and the audience who tunes cars is generally younger and doesn’t want to dive into that price and size.
