Holy shit! at 2:20 your records behind you to the right started to move... Are you alone in there? ;) Great video by the way. I don't own anything you showed in this video. But I'd like to the Surfer Rosa album by the Pixies at some point. Remember to watch Studio 54 tomorrow ;).. Happy New Year, Armien :)
I get so jealous every time I watch one of your videos! Just a gold mine of perfect vinyl! The Einstürzende neubauten really put this over the top. Nice work!
Awesome haul Armien. Doolittle is my #1 favorite album of all time. What a decade for Alt-Rock. Also digging those Sonic Youth records. Great video as usual.
Thanks for tuning in! I am still on a heavy Sonic Youth kick at the moment. There is a lot to discover... specially when it comes to late 80s alt. rock. All the best! Armien
Some fantastic stuff here - I am well acquainted with the titles since this is actually my sweet spot in music; my college days where you'd find out who your favorite musicians liked and then go listen to them.
Hi Kris, you have a great taste! I can imagine how cool it must have been discovering those artists back in the day. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! Armien
Hey Armien, What a great video, even though in my mind the 90's aren't as special as the 70's, this was very entertaining to watch, it actually made me remember some albums i hadn't listened to in months! i still can't believe you got pixies' debut album for 8 euro, a great find indeed! All the best!
hello armien and a happy 2016 to you. you got some nice lps there from the 80s there were some pretty decent indie and alternative bands then. good purchases! rob
Sonic Youth man that is a great album Armien I'm still after. Great Pixies score originals are hard to come by in mint condition I have an original Bossanova and the MOFI press too I totally agree with you on originals. Cocteau Twins Head Over Heels and Treasure are important albums in their catalog Treasure was my introduction it took me years to find a quiet copy of HOH I have the 180gram one too you will find one Armien you have great patience and great taste in music you have a Happy New Year
Hello Lovell, cool to hear that you have it as MOFI press. Those are excellent quality. Thanks for tuning in and also a happy new year for you! All the best! Armien
Hi Armien!! :-D great to see you again! Always happy like a child in a candy shop whenever you talk vinyl! Hahaha... see you again brother! Happy 2016! sincerely, Ian.
A bunch of great albums that led into early 90s great albums as well. Adorable's "Against Perfection", Catherine Wheel's "Ferment", Swervedriver's "Mezcal Head"... also other stuff you should check out: Autolux "Future Perfect", Film School "Film School"
You may like to know if you don't already sonic youth have reissued Goo, Daydream Nation and Dirty on 4lp box sets, picked them up today for about €35 each brand new in the UK. Some really good stuff on there 😁 great videos too
man that sounds awesome! I have the box set of goo and an og goo. I would love to get the daydream nation box set. In the meanwhile I received the back to black reissue of washing machine. stellar stuff. Thanks for watching :) Armien
Great vidéo Armien. Excellent movie on the Stone Roses recent tour few years ago by Shane Meadows ("This is England"). They plan a new tour next spring... A cult record for me. Bye.
Hi Armien, I have not heard from you in a while and it is good to see you. I just noticed that I was not getting your updates and I looked to see that I was not subbed to your channel anymore. I think I was in the first fifty subscribers when you started and I do not know what happened. But that will be fixed in a few seconds as I re-sub your channel. You described Sonic Youth well. It took me a while to get into them in the 80's. I thought that they were a little overrated. But then I heard Goo which came out after DM if I remember correctly and I loved it. Still my favorite album by them. Did you ever listen to it? I think you would really enjoy it. Ah, I see that you got EVOL too so now I am sure that you have heard Goo. I love seeing the late 80's alternative into the mid 90's. They bring back memories of the record store that I worked at called Strawberries. Plus after seeing this and past videos of yours you truly have so many of the great big named bands covered. Nice to see the OG Candy Apple Red too. I will tell you a Husker Du/Bob Mould story in an upcoming comment that I know you will enjoy. OK Armien. Have a very Happy New Year. I look forward to catching up with some of your videos that I missed in the past few months. Love to catch up with you too sometime via PM. Talk to you soon ~ Rob/Boston
Hello Rob, good to hear from you my friend! I hope all things are going well in Boston! It's interesting that you mentioned that you didn't get any more updates from my channel since another friend told me the same. Very weird but who knows what's up with youtube. Anyways..... I am glad that you are back! I missed you :) It's so cool to hear all of your stories. I can imagine how cool it must have been working at a record store in the late 80s and 90s. It was an awesome time for alternative music. Oh yeah! I have two copies of Goo and it's one of my alltime favorite albums. You are right. It was released in 1990, the same year Violator by DM was released. Thanks again and a happy new year to you, too! Armien
Do you have the 1994 (recorded in late 1993) MTV Unplugged Nirvana album from New York? I believe the original pressing is in white vinyl. I am not really a fan of live albums but this one is special in my book. Very warm and intimate. I've kind of searching for it on vinyl as I just have it on CD at the moment.
Yes, I have an original european pressing from 1994. Feel free to check out my last 90s update. I think I show it there. Yes, the Unplugged album by Nirvana is a milestone indeed! I love it from start to finish! Thanks for watching :) Armien
