I love how boosted the saturation is. It’s like watching blurry crayons melt over an 80s radiator.

I remember when this burger came out. Everyone was so excited about the unnecessary extra packaging, we’d all start singing and dancing spontaneously in the streets. (Sigh). I miss those days.

I actually picture George Costanza pitching this to McDonald's executives in the boardroom circa 1986.

I messed up the quote twice in chat and Jerma yelled at me, twice. "you got it wrong!" "You forgot the most important part" "No! You got it wrong again!" I can still remember the way he said it as if he we saying to to me now. I was on the verge of tears, I tried to apologize but he didn't read my messages in chat. I hope he can find it somewhere in his heart to forgive me for what I've done, it obviously deeply offended him, I could tell by the tone of his voice. I won't screw it up again, I'm gonna make Jerma proud, I'm gonna make him smile, and i'm not gonna make him get frustrated and yell at me again. The McDLT ad is one of the things he holds nearest and dearest, and I made a mockery of it, unknowingly of course. My intentions were good, but the consequences of my actions caused pain. I will not misquote this commercial again so help me god.

I could picture an episode of Seinfeld where George tries to find a VHS tape of an old tv ad George was in in order to land a role in an upcoming tv show and impress his girlfriend. The ad turns out to be for the McDLT, which gets him laughed out of the audition and dumped by his girlfriend. Kramer: "Is this commercial makin' anyone else hungry for some pizza?"

Jason Alexander was a big time Broadway performer. He was nominated for a Tony Award for his work in Jerome Robbins' Broadway.

Very effective and fun commercial. The energy the background people bring along with Jason Alexander, the jingle, and the vibrate and bright colorful clothes they all are wearing. Don't see that in today's commercials.

Okay, I don't necessarily like McDonalds, but this commercial does combine two things I like: musical/choreographed commercials and 80s vibes. I found this ad very catchy.

This burger would have been a smashing success for McDonald's had the pitchman been draped in velvet.

I love how the cheese is on the cool side. Nothing like an unmelted, cold slice of cheese stuck between the lettuce and tomato. That was the burger's only drawback.

Ah, yes, this is awesome. I worked at McD's in my senior yr of high school. It was Fall of '85 when the McDLT was introduced. Corporate threw this HUGE fu-fu-she-she party to get us minimum-wager teenagers all pumped up about it. Then when someone would ask for a Quarter Pounder we'd ask "With the works?! (Insert cheesy smile here.)" Well, yeah, the customer would say. We'd ring them up for a McDLT. Surprise! Here's a eco-unfriendly styro-box the size of a microwave & at the cost one one, too!

That was so funny. I will always see Jason Alexander as George Costanza and that is what makes it so hilarious. Five stars!

This commercial aired in 1985. I have this same commercial on my copy of game 6 of the 1985 World Series, which aired on October 26 that year - so it goes back at least that far.

I have a bit of a love affair with the 1980s. I loved the memories, I loved the music and the movies, the cold war was more like a friendly rivalry than anything serious like in the 1960s, I loved the toys and all the ridiculous marketing ....however.... What was the fucking deal with wearing a blazer with the sleeves pulled up? I remember thinking back then, as a kid "wow, that looks stupid as hell, why would anyone do that?" Yet almost every stand up comic and many other "hip" entertainers did it. Thank goodness that one particular fashion statement has not come back...yet. Hipsters, you are on alert.

Dang, this was the best sandwich they ever had. Even as a kid, I would forgo the Happy Meal and get the McDLT. I say bring it back!

My brother and I finished up a long shift repairing a recycle plant, and dropped by McDonalds, I ordered a double McDLT, ... the cashier/server was puzzled Another employee remarked "We haven't had that for years" (In retrospect his was probably 6 or 8 years after it was discontinued) The manager was nearby and remarked that's OK .. ring it up as a double quarter pounder ... And he himself made me, in two boxes, a REAL McDLT 🙂 My brother used to tell the tory "My brother can walk into a random McDonalds, and they will make him any off menu food he wants" 🙂
