One of the greatest casts I've seen in a long time! I can't help but laugh but that seems like the epitome of medieval warfare: protect your castle amidst a terrifying siege that laid waste to your outlying towns and then counterstrike when siege's momentum stalls. What an incredible game. Kudos to both players.

17:45 every civ has a different landmark attack alert sound for every age. If you check out the 'Age of Empires IV Soundtrack' playlist by Peaches Lamb, every combat theme they've compiled starts with the respective landmark attack alert sound. The one you're hearing here is the Age 3 Malian one - that's also why you're not hearing the sound after kjj goes to Age 4.

I had lasik yesterday First hours hurt 24h later it is dmn awsome, seeing everything like I never had Glases before. I would do it again… The surgery self is a pure joke. I was in there less then 10 min. Both eyes done and next day (15h later) already 100% on the check. You don’t feel anything. I was „scared“ before and after I was laughing and told them that’s a dmn joke 😂 Absolutely no problems beside a bit of pain the first hours. But you get medicine against it. After 2-3 hours it’s done and after a day my eyes feel normal. Just need to get used to it now after 20 years Glases.

its funny because in drongos example it's actually almost or with rounding maybe exactly the same outcome of 20% reduction before or after armor: 26-5 (20% rounded down) - 6 = 15 versus 26 -6 -4 = 16. but with lower damage number like from archers (about 10 pre armor) it is more impactful : 10 -2 -6 = 2 rather than 10 -6 - 1 = 3 so 33% ..

Drongo, my sister and I have had lasik surgery years ago. Best decision of our life. The technique really has been perfected. Whatever bad things you heard about it, they're outdated. Go for it! Especially if your insurance covers it.

Optometrist here, LASIK can be good if your eyes have been stable for a long time 3-5 years. If they are changing reguarly then I wouldn't bother. Once you hit 40 years of age things may change and you will still need reading glasses. Bad shit can happen but if you are proactive in recognising symptoms and getting it checked it can usually be resolved. Manage expectations..

i think the order needs to either go for a fast 2nd tc or a very fast imperial age for the swabia. despite their villagers being better, the lack of numbers is a real problem in case of raids

I did LASIK like more than 10 years ago, when the technology was more or less in its dark age. Went super well although i looked a bit creepy for a week with massively swollen eyes. I went from 20% visus to more than 100%, which probably came down a bit over the years again. But it's such a quality of life improvement, no problems when entering warm buildings in the winter, or trying to fit glasses under a motor cycle helmet and you can see things whilst under the shower or in your bed...

I had Lasik Surgery a year or two ago. Best money I have ever spent. I am young so we will see how it fairs long term. But it was painless and I could see perfectly within the hour of the surgery (it was a little cloudy - but I could see 30/20 by the end of the day. Yes. 30/20. Not 20/30. My vision became better than 20/20 according to the doctors. I didn't know that was possible. Definitely suggest it.). Just make sure to go to a place that has a good reputation for success.

Salami was playing AoE with that defense while kjj is playing baseball with those throws. lol

Best comeback ever! For OOTD I find it most effective to just go for feudal pressure. Kind of like English you just keep building up, upgrading, attacking and denying resources while scaling your economy with upgrades etc. If your opponent rushes castle they're generally in trouble since your units on a 1-for-1 basis are at least as good as their castle age units (eg, it's unwise to go knights since your spears are complete gods and their archers are the best). As long as you keep adjusting your comp to counter your opponent it's fairly easy to get a scary army together. I also like the Aachen better. A 10% buff is better than no buff at all and your units are good enough that you can delay upgrades until you can afford a forge. If you get upgrades and farms around the Aachen your economy is likely going to be stronger than your opponent's late feudal / early castle economy.

I served with a guy who had Lastic surgeory, he was absolutely fine, carried on as normal as far as I know.

Man, talk about snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory

KJJ was a complete fool, he truly was. He had Corvus down to 1 soldier and he had 63 and just wouldn't fight smart. He should have gotten those Treb's out and if not then got his population to build on all those gold sites in the center and build production closer to Corvus base to make attack easier. But his main problem is that Corvus was truly using alot of his siege to take out many of KJJ"s fighters and KJJ wasn't using any until close to the end and it was to late. This should never have been a KJJ loss. He should have brought up a bunch of civilians and build Keeps right at his door step.

@Aussie_Drongo I got lasik about 4 years ago and i could not be happier with the results definately worth it. Im also pretty sure the risk isnt bad, failure rate of only about 0.3% its also a very short procedure mine was 15 min. Id recommend doing it!

I am a cataract, glaucoma, and LASIK/PRK surgeon. All eye surgery has a risk of blindness. That said, it's the most cost-effective surgery 99% of the time. If you're squeamish, then do PRK so you don't move your LASIK flap. A little more work and there is pain with PRK, but no flap and no worries about the patient rubbing their eyes and moving the flap.

Just 5 trebuchets and that would be it....I'm just a little noobie, but come on, that would be the end of the game in a minute. Huge mistake by kjj I think. I was crying behind the screen for those Trebs as a huga mallian enjoyer and fan. Nice comentary Drongo

The types of comebacks possible in this game are ludicrous. Granted, it is questionable why kjj didn't make a few trebs to kill the 3 buildings preventing a win.

The Order struggled all game because they were doing the infantry only challenge into Malian mass archer. Malian archers do poison damage, so they counter men-at-arms a lot better than they otherwise would, and they counter spears and landsharks anyway. Literally any ranged or cavalry units from the Order would have countered the archer mass but none were ever built. Gilded archers and crossbows both outrange standard archers, gilded horsemen would have shredded that archer mass in the blink of an eye, even gilded knights would have at least gotten in and done some damage without just being kited like all that infantry. I'm sure Corvinus was just memeing here but this is not at all the right way to play this civ and it's not something you should point to and say 'this is why the Order needs to be buffed.' Also I feel like the community may have totally forgotten that standing on stone walls gives units extra range and damage resistance, but the Order's gilded ranged units in particular get much more efficient if you take advantage of this. If you're backed into a corner like that and your opponent is forced to attack you then you can hold much better by getting your ranged units on a wall.

last play 1vs1 using HRE, this happen to me, and got comeback with swabia in the corner lol...

Really it was that salami could hit the unit production buttons fast enough for this sort of grinding fight. KJJ had like 10k resources and 50 free pop space for a lot of that, so if they just optimized their controls a bit for keeping their production going at full steam I think they could have overwhelmed without even using a smarter strategy like trebs.

Hey Drongo you've mentioned a couple times how the Aachen is pretty bad for OotD. But it's actually not. If the standard gather rate is 40 res/ minute then an HRE inspired vil has a gather rate of 56/m. (40*1.4). Dragon vils would have a standard gather rate of 50/m (40*1.25) then the aachens 10% buff would put them at 55/m (50*1.1). OotD only loses 1 res per minute. Until imperial where hre can get an extra bump to their inspiration rates. So it's really not that bad at all

The backbone of OotD army should be ranged, siege, or both. The role of the infantry is to protect the ranged mass or the siege, not to charge into the opponent's army. OotD infantry are great at protecting siege due to their surface area efficiency: they do more damage per contact area. Abbasids spear and Ottoman Sipahi has similar merit albeit by different mechanics. There's one tactic that allows OotD to get to Swabia relatively safely: open early deer and survival technique to preserve the sheep, build an archer mass before going castle, then go Regnitz and research inspired warrior. Inspired warrior is much easier to use on the defense than offense and inspired gilded archer has no counter other than mass mango, but you should be able to reach imp by the time your opponent has mass mango. Get relics if the opponent allows it but the main purpose of the prelates is to inspire the archers, not to get relics.

Lasek is now just an investment issue for me. My eyes were perfect after I had it done 5 years ago but now they are reverting so it’s either do it again, at a steep price for another 5 years give it take, or just get contacts again.

i feel like Order of the dragon should build more archer idk. most of the OotD game i seen havent really utilized the dragon leather archer. even against mailian. your archer still have +5 range armor vs javelin thrower. they should be able to put up a good fight even if it doesn't win. i feel like either Maa+archer or even pure trash spear+archer is a good comp that i havent seen much OotD player uses.

What an absolute banger of game! Seriously this is better than Crackedy vs Kaup game (which made crackedy rage uninstall aoe4) you casted back then. Regarding lasik though, it depends. Let's say the glasses you wear are like -10 and bulky af, then lasik is absolutely worth it. But on the other hand, if your glasses are like -2 or -3 then lasik is not much worth. But you gotta remember. Lasik never completely corrects your vision problems. It only compensates it by reshaping your cornea with laser. So chances are, you might still need to wear lower power glasses. And also, it is not suitable for people with certain conditions, so you have to consult your ophthalmologist.

my gf got laser surgery and she is very happy. I believe it depends on how thic is your cornea or something like that, and I would be scared to have it done by someone that is gonna receive money directly if I have it done. What you can do is pay someone to tell you how adecuate your eyes are to the surgery, telling them upfront that no matter what you won't be paying them for the operation itself, or something like that.
