Love to see all these testing videos. But have you ever tested max speeds with increasing weight/payload in the boat? Any link to see that info would be appreciated.
@@vojomatusenko sir, do you know what the name of the propellor is? Or do you have a picture of it? Since Evinrude only Made a 9, 10 and 11 pitch propellors for this model 15 hp as far as I know.
@UCe-v9GtY-BX39K52I47vjdg I've been looking at some different ways to quiet my 15 hp. Of all the ways to do it, it seems that using lead sheet is best. It's not expensive, the good adhesive costs more than the lead sheeting. Please give your opinion on 1/16th lead sheeting placed inside of the cowl to quiet my motor. Lead sheeting also comes in 1/8th inch.

Look at the engine cover a 2007 bmw 335i. Underneath is a foam/composite rubber layer to keep the noise down on the Diesel Style Injectors for the Direct Injection. It is a night and day difference with that plastic cover and noise buffer on. You cant hear them. Its pretty amazing. It goes under the bmw plastic valve cover "beauty cover"...
@@mxracingunlimitedltd7784 I went ahead with and installed the 1/16th lead sheet using "Goop" glue for flexibility and 1.5 16oz cans of 3m sound deadening spray paint. With all of the materials and the time spent cutting the lead into sections, gluing them in, taping off then painting the inside of the cowl, there is not one lick of difference in the loud sound coming from the motor. I've come to the conclusion that the loud sound coming from an outboard motor has nothing to do with its cowl. I sold the 15hp motor and bought a 16' ski boat that was modified with a 110 hp V6 Ford-Mercury car engine. I love its throaty sound, lol. I will be buying another outboard sometime, but I've given up on trying to quiet one.
Zampan0 that's interesting that it didn't help at all. In reality they dont even have an exhaust. The water in the exhaust tube is what cools and quiets it down. And with the engine powerhead bolted metal on metal to the lower cowling/midsection down to the metal lower unit with loud gears, I guess the motor is probably not the only loud piece of the puzzle lol. Sound traveling all over with no rubber isolation between any of it...
@@mxracingunlimitedltd7784 I have a friend that works at Honda in Marysville , Ohio, he's been a two stroke enthusiast from the age of ten. Those small town boys grow up with two stroke everything, everything but boat motors, he was never in to boating He said the same thing you are saying, it is resonating. His only advice was to put a small muffler on the cowl's vent. I put my hand tight over the vent and it made no difference. I just thought of the answer, shooters ear protection ear muffs, lol. I'm not going waste any more time trying to figure it.
