What really makes this world come alive is how npc's behave. They dont just stand there or walk around in a standard patrol. They engage in all sorts of activities with a lot of different animations. I really stopped and looked at this stone quarry where almost the entire production process is simulated and all the npc's convincingly engage with all sorts of machinery, items and the enviroment. Or this theatre company reenacting all sorts of scenes. How the people behave makes such a difference.

Are those persistent footprints that he's leaving in the sand? I didn't finish the video, so may it's more clear later on, but in the first part of the video, that's what it looks like. Kind of a random thing to be my #1 thing to get excited over, but yeah I went with a bedouin guide into the desert in Jordan (Wadi Rum, specifically) when I was younger, and I would always say that I left my heart in the desert because it was the most amazing place that i have ever been. Well, now I am a lot more disabled and out of the closet as trans, so I am unlikely to be headed back to Jordan anytime soon, but nostalgia for the Middle East might be enough for me to buy this game.

My favourite one too. There's something about Ancient Egypt that is both mysterious and so interesting at the same time. I loved Origins, and Bayek is a great main character. Hope they can capture something similar with Mirage now

@@anyazelie They do remain for a short while but eventually fill with sand again. There are some cool effects though such as dead bodies and discarded weapons becoming buried by sand over time, and mirage effects, heat waves, and so on while you travel in the desert. You can see things like frogs raining from the sky.

In 30-40 years, we'll be inside those worlds with Glasses like VR headsets. Maybe even gloves that can feel each material, smell and even taste. Not an exact representation but you can adjust the settings. Not just that, maybe we can even simulate sand, snow, dirt, storms, oceans in 3D and feel it with a suit or something.

this game to me has a much better atmosphere and visual coherence than the two games that followed. i enjoyed playing through this game but i had massive problems getting into odyssey and valhalla. something there put me off massively. you can tell that this game was developed much more carefully when they took a break after AC Syndicate.

Origins was rushed still. Odyssey was the finished product. Odyssey had many different assets than Origins with new customizations and an improved combat system. Though I'm not a big fan of Ubisoft because of their politics in games. "Developed by people with different gender identities" has no business to be stated on the intro of every game.

Out of the 3 new age assassins creed games, this is by far the best one. It’s not even close. Odyssey was a complete slog with some regions being barebones and mostly pointless. Constant gear changing, terrible protagonist(whichever you choose) etc. Valhalla was even worse. Then add in the terrible janky animations in combat, awful protagonist and overall boring gameplay it was just an overall mess. Side note, really never understood the appeal Odyssey had for some. To me that is one of the worst AC games ever created and there has been some real stinkers.

the curve is too agressive against the shadows, crushing them and loosing a huge amount of details, the greens are a bit too warm and too saturated imo, but the browns and the reds are on point, adding a nit more cyan in the sky would add a little more pleasant look when you're in the desert, and finally cranking down the vignette effect would be cool, to adress the issue with the greens and the blues, you could add an effect called 'color isolation' you choose the Reds for the isolation, and you use it to desaturate all the other colors exept the warm ones, so the greens and the blues could be less saturated without destroying your work on the warmer colors of the hue.

This is making me want to play this game again. I want to play it at 4K, so I need to get a new monitor. I need a new graphics card to max it out at 4K as well. Don’t want to bottleneck my shiny new graphics card so I’ll get a new cpu. And a new motherboard, ram, case, fans, rgb ambient lighting. My mouse and keyboard are pretty old as well. So I need new ones. Don’t want to be uncomfortable either so I should probably get a new gaming chair. If I’m getting a chair I’ll get a desk too. My neighbors dog is also really loud so I should move to a new house so I can get some peace and quiet while I game. After all this I’ll finally be able to enjoy my game. Can’t wait!

It's simulated ray tracing from a reshade anyway, not actual ray tracing. The Nvidia RTX Remix mod should do a much better job than any reshade could, so that should be a huge improvement once that's released.

People hate on Valhalla but Origins and Odyssey are some of the best in the series imo....both ludicrously gorgeous gameworlds

Nice but why are the flowers disappearing before they leave the scene? They put so much effort in the scene but make such simple mistake. I know Origins is 2017 but still.
