“My husband died in the OR. Dr. Yang performed the surgery. I was in a 7 hour surgery and he never told me. He wants a baby, he doesn’t so they don’t speak to each other even though they’re married. So no, no plans. What about you?” Owen’s face when the resident was going to say his Valentine’s Day plans was perfect!
What Teddy said about Iraq was very harsh but I'm on her side. Owen lied to her and said her husband was alive. It's that plain and simple. He should have pulled her out of the ER and let Yang continue the surgery. They could have told her that there were some complications and they were still working. But to tell her that he had survived the surgery and was fine? That's just cruel. And the way he told Christina that she had killed their baby... in front of everyone at Zola's party... I just have no remorse left to waste on him.
Yes I don't think he should have gone in the second time...but I still don't like the story line nor do I like Teddy, actually never did. They all had a hand in what happened,he is not to blame for everything. When is the Teddy character leaving the series?
Owen is very selfish doing that to Christina. But what he did to Teddy is just beyond my understanding. No one has the right to not tell someone that their loved one is fine when in reality they're dead. That's is pure cruelty. He got what he deserved from her - or actually, he deserved even more hatred.
I can see how the situation could have been handled better, but honestly it all started with Teddy when she told them to lie to Yang about who was on the table. Owen tried to protect Yang from that because he knew what she had been through already and it would be to much, but Teddy didn't care. And the outburst at Zola's party was understandable. They never talked about it and Yang and Teddy had undermined his authority, which in real life would get people fired. And it didn't help that Owen would see Yang constantly showing love to Zola and think that could've been our own child.
@@93King you spoke facts! I hate how people are coming for him when the reality is that it was Teddy’s fault. She was the one who wanted Yang to do the surgery without her knowing it was Henry. And yes, both Yang and Teddy are always doing whatever they want and not taking him seriously as their boss. While Yang has every right to make a decision on her body, she would always shut him down and kept giving him mix signals. Honestly, I just feel bad for him. Both Yang (in a relationship with Owen) and Teddy are just horrible characters. He deserved better. Yang was clearly not the relationship type so I don’t get why she kept leading Owen on.
@@SandyCheeks92837 Cristina Yang has NEVER led Owen on. She has never said "oh, I want to have children" then blatantly discarded the idea. It is no secret that she does NOT want to have kids. It's Owen's fault for keeping projecting his ideals onto her and for expecting that she will change. As for her warmth with Zola and child patients-she encapsulated the rationale by saying "I respect kids. I think they should have parents who want them." Stop this toxic mentality of blaming Cristina with the "mixed signals" bullshit. It's like saying "although she has said no to having sex with me, because she looks so sensual on this occasion, she must secretly want me." It's all just a coercive narrative-twisted and distorted in the man's mind.
3:22 Teddy says "i wish u were dead instead of him" and Owen's face changes for a sec, but then he just take it. I guess, he has such thoughts many times, but he doesn't deserve this words from Teddy, from anyone I mean, he feels so much guilt for everything
I get the grieving , I get she wants someone to blame for the death of Henry , but when she mentioned Iraq, simply unforgivable. I feel bad for Owen, he doesn't deserve all this.Anyway, Kim Raver was amazing in this scene.
I find it interesting after all he's put her through this season... how she didn't throw this back in his face. This was a pretty low blow on his part. But then again maybe it'll come up in her therapy.
I can never and could never understand people who actually like Owen, hes a good surgeon but beyond that i see no redeemable characteristic. From a physiological point of view he is narcissistic, condescending and selfish in almost every scene we see, even when he does something nice its not to be nice but rather to be viewed as a good person/hero. He wanted his loved ones safe and happy but only if they were close to him and only in the way in which he wanted them to be happy. He tried keeping everyone on a tight leash, and yes the Amelia situation with the baby wasn't his fault as she did say she's open to having children and then changed her mind, however the way in which he knew Christina didn't want children and decided he could change her mind at some point, the way he cheated on his first two wives and most likely destroyed any happiness Teddy would have had if she stayed in Germany. I simply see no way of finding understanding for this man. At least his sister made him start going to therapy, so he could potentially improve but rn, im p sure the only people who find excuses for him are people who identify with him 😬😤
I don’t like Teddy nor do I like Owen. When he shamed Cristina for having an abortion, that was absolutely unforgivable because he knew what he was getting into.
Gosh.. I hope to see again Teddy and Owen friends. He's his bestfriend, she can't do that with him. Teddy is sad and I proud of Owen because he stay his bestfriend. Sorry for my probably mistakes. ^_^ I'm french.
I was shocked at the Iraq statement!! I honestly love all three characters, Cristina, Owen and Teddy. With their faults and everything, they're really good characters so i feel equally bad for all three of them when teddys husband died and cristina got an abortion. All three of them were deeply hurt but man, the iraq statement was painful knowing owens trauma and how much he tries to save everyone 😢
@bluesweet91 She is doctor, a surgeon who supposedly worked in Iraq and she should know better than anyone that patient comes first.. I get she is upset and she is grieving and she want to blame someone for Henry's death but wishing your friend who was in Iraq to be dead is way way over the top..Absolutely nothing justifies that...She now has showed the way she really is bitter and vindictive.. Owen has had a lot of patience with her, more that she ever deserved.
@italoluder teddy is vindictive she is manipulating the Cristina and Owen, with all this fighting, playing against each other and why has his revenge Owen loves Cristina, Cristina is playing the fool, the teddy is using. Owen is a guy feel guilty for not being able to respond to the love of teddy and is spending all this humiliation
ok, I didn't watch all of the last few eps, so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the only thing Owen did was keep Henry's death from Teddy for a few hours? Wasn't Henry's surgery a long shot anyway? If that was the case, I can't believe her reaction. There was nothing Owen could do after the fact so how would telling her during surgery help? And did she SERIOUSLY say he should've died in Iraq? I get that she's grieving, but that's beyond low. Esp after everything he went through coming back.
well i wonder what would you do if your husband/wife is dead while you're working and the one person who knows and you trust tells you he's just fine lol
Diego Villavicencio It still doesn't excuse what she said. It was a terrible thing to say to someone. I'm not saying he was right for keeping it from her but he did it in good faith. I would be mad but I would never say something like that, especially not to someone I am/was close to.
SubtleFictions when people are grieving they lash out, they so say or do anything that can help make the pain go away or at least numb them for a bit. Don’t take it personally just let them work through it.
@@diegovillavicencio3172 I never even took their "marriage" seriously. They got married so he could get insurance for his operation, remember? She had just started to warm up to the idea of being married. It doesn't excuse her reaction. Everything she said with the exclusion of the Iraq comment was understandable. But being lied to doesn't give her the right to say that, especially since she was the one who told everyone to lie to Yang begin with which started all of it.
Having an abortion seems like a very Cristina thing to do, she didn't want a child and she isn't the kind of woman who would have one just for the sake of someone else. Giving the baby away would have been pointless and more painful on both of them, and you know what? Even the kindest people cheat. This is a TV show, don't take everything so seriously, they are just characters.
@SubtleFictions Yes, but it's the fact that he lied to her regardless of how long he kept the truth from her. Giving her false hope that Henry was alive when he wasn't. In Teddy's perspective her best friend lied to her, and led her on about the man she loved rather than telling her the truth in the beginning. Now she feels betrayed.
@@aprilgarcia5589This was two years ago but how was what he did worse? It was bad, yes, but he did it with the best intent. It was an impossibly difficult situation. If she heard about it it could comprimise the patient
@SubtleFictions I get your point and you're right with all these things, but I understand her. Owen did the wrong thing and it's shocking how he behaves towards Christina.
@SubtleFictions YEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutley right what you say. If I was Cristina and found out she said that to my husband I would strangle her....How can you wish someone dead as a doctor, fully aware of what he has been through. I dont care if she grieves. This was absolutely unforgiveable. Teddy and Cristina shil all over him since weeks and I am sick of it. At least Cristina showed some compassion for her husband in the end.....but I am done with teddy.
This makes me upset because Teddy only wanted Christina to do the surgery and she told him to not let Christina know who was on the table, he respected her wishes. The husband was going to die regardless, Teddy respected that from Christina. And at the time Teddy was doing an important surgery only she could perform. He is the Chief and needed to make sure each patient gets the best treatment. Telling a surgeon her husband just died would’ve been horrible for the patient on Teddy’s table. I just feel she has anger towards the wrong person.
@@mariaaguirre1020 oh god, I didn’t even remember leaving this comment. Honestly now I couldn’t tell you who the heck Steve is. From the clips in this video I would guess he’s the intern in the surgery, but for the life of me, I don’t remember having so much interest in him as to pay attention to such details about his life. Or to even remember his name. I clearly was a Grey’s nerd lol Sadly not anymore..
there is a difference in being a feminist or a man hater. rhimes makes the male characters look like asswholes and the women are the saints and victims. yang made this decision on her own.she did not involve him. only bc he held her hand doesnt mean he was happy with what she did. thats not marriage. its lovely to see how much she has changed and how much she cares abt him and supports him. it was abt. time.
You mean how he knew she would never want kids, ever? And he married her anyway? He knew she didn’t and he knew that wouldn’t change and he just assumed it would change. He knew and still married her. He did that to himself.
i dont agree with you. but i accept your opinion. not everyone cheats. and i dont understand why shonda rhimes originally had planned a baby for them and said then it was not the right time. From all characters in greys Yang would have been the most outstanding mother. Rhimes is just to much of a coward to take that challenge.she is more concerned abt the fans who dont want to see her as a mother. so she forced us on her stupid political agenda. again.you have your opinion.i have mine.
and what annoyed me the most was that it happened to yang TWICE. if she is so determined not to EVER have kids then she should have kept her knees together or watched birthcontrol in a responsible way. you cant use abortion as birthcontrol. a very poor message for rhimes. i am against abortion. always have been.always will. i dont support it in any way. you dont do this to the man who loves you. not in my world.
The first time she didn’t get an abortion she actually got sick and she was really sad about it. the second time she told him multiple times before that she didn’t want kids. birth-control doesn’t always work. she’s married she can have sex if she wants to so I don’t see what was wrong with her having the abortion after telling him before during and after that she did not want children.
