Hyundai Sonata 2013 cruise control FAIL..., still.
OK, I admit I've got a theme going here. I finally took it into the dealer a few weeks back and spent almost 4 hours sitting in the waiting room. They were extremely nice and accommodating. The mechanic spent hours with the car, driving it & then pushing the same buttons with it hooked up to his diagnostic machine in the shop. He even came out and watched the other two similar videos I also have up here on RU-vid. He said while he had it on the machine he never saw that the buttons did not register when pushed. He said Hyundai won't approve warranty work of them just randomly replacing stuff on the car that can't be proven faulty, so he was hesitant to just dive in & replace either the button set in the wheel or the clock spring connector embedded in it that transmits the signals from the wheel, down the column, and to the cruise computer under the dash since he couldn't actually find anything "broken".
They washed the car, & even cleaned & detailed the interior. It looked so good I didn't think it was really mine when they brought it out to me. They advised that the next time it started doing it to drop in & they'd check it out again - no appointment necessary. I couldn't have asked for a more responsive experience from the dealer.
And I took this video a few days ago. After pushing the Cancel button for over a minute, I used the cruise power button to kill it. Note the 3 green indicators in the center of the dash. The right one indicates the cruise is SET. After pushing Cancel button for over a minute, it never Cancelled & the speedometer never wavered.
It seems Hyundai has a cruise control system in some cars that can't be "Cancelled", and they also have no equipment or method of diagnosing this problem with it.
