Not only is trash littering, but if you happen to be one of the people who have reflectors on your bike and it should break in a crash or a pedal strike, please pick it up. I get tired of seeing reflective pieces of plastic on the trail. They are sharp, and distracting.

RIP MisterBassBoost you might have popped the bead off the rim which causes for the tyre to be bent. So deflate the tyre, squeeze it then bend it to the centre of the rim, pump it back up to 50-55 psi you should here popping noises of the tyre getting on the bead of the rim, leave it overnight. The next day ride it hard with it at high pressure and the next day deflate it to the normal pressure you run. It should be fine if not just get a new tyre.

Definitely chiming in with the others on a raging hatred for littering. I make it a point to always stop when possible and pick up the litter that other pricks dropped. Nothing worse than riding in the beautiful outdoors and seeing a constant procession of those god awful gel squirty packets and red bull cans. I do need to work on getting the correct speed before cornering though, I had a bit of a realisation on that very point today on the trails but I am a noob so it takes time for all these lessons to sink in :D

Travis Cleary I was down at a local jump trail in a wood that a bunch of teens have done a good job of building but they have also completely ruined it by leaving beer cans and broken bottles all over the place, I almost stacked it landing a jump because I had to avoid a broken bottle. Makes you wonder why you’d put so much hard work into making decent jumps to then ruin the lines with large bits of litter🙄

No.1Not greeting a fellow rider, nothing like coming across a stuck-up rider who's too good to say Hi!....No.2 Blowing past and not offering help to a fellow rider who may need help. Give them the option of kindly declining any help. No.3 Not yielding to a hiker, trail runner, or horseback rider on a multi-use trail, yelling out to make them move, and giving Mountain Bikers a bad reputation. Just have a bit of patience and you'll be rolling along in no time.

I run on trails where people bike everyday and I almost always just stand aside when I hear bikers. Generally, I never have problems. Bikers mostly just slow down and let me decide if I want to stand aside (and I almost always do). But I hate hate hate when a biker comes up behind (or in front of) me yelling "THREE UP!" or whatever like they own the trail and don't have brakes. If you want to own your own mountain bike trail, buy land and build it. Otherwise, be kind and respectful to those you are sharing the trail with.

#TrailKarma: Always slow down and say "hello, have a nice walk" if you meet people walking the trail. People see Mountain Bike riders as thugs and asses, when we just race past, don't slow down and don't say hello. That should really have been #1. I don't know how it is in other countries, but here in Denmark all trails are open for all. We just encourage hikers to walk against driving direction, so they can see the riders coming towards them
@Rachara

When using a multi-use trail and thinking you have the right away over the hikers and trail runners. Remember, if you're on wheels they have the right of way. I hate to stop when in the zone but if I'm on a MUT I always stop for the foot traffic.

Gary Collier, I'm glad you and John Day mentioned this. I just started mtb riding a couple of months ago and have been wondering who is supposed to yeild in this scenario. Great video GMBN!
@explorenaked
@explorenaked 6 лет назад
There are a lot of people here that don't like MTBer's because some are just so inconsiderate. My fear is if we're not courteous to the those on foot the trail management orgs will close the trails to us. Sunday I stopped for a couple of hikers and allowed them to pass. They told me I was the first one that did so. That's not good.

What's a MUT?
@explorenaked
@explorenaked 6 лет назад
That's my acronym for "multi use trail" which is a trail that is open to hikers, runners, bikers and in some cases off-road vehicles and horses. In Colorado most of the trails that we bike on are MUT's. Some trail managers have designated that on weekends one day is for foot traffic and the other is for MTB but for the most part you will be on the trail with foot traffic so you have to be careful and courteous.

One finger breaking is all fine and dandy, unless you don't have hydraulic disk brakes. Try one finger breaking. With U brakes, or even V brakes. It doesn't work well. I have mechanical disk, and even those I need two fingers
@ah7027

true. That's why almost everyone prefers hydraulic. the cost isn't that ridiculous and there much more efficient.
@JAfonsoNunesMartins10

@@JAfonsoNunesMartins10 that was my old bike. Got some 2012 entry level hardtail in 2013 that was gonna be my "daily driver". I bought it before I had a license and needed a way to get around town. At that point I didn't know anything about bikes besides the need to avoid department stores. So I went as cheap as I could while still getting something with a mountain ish frame, and disk brakes. (Didn't know difference between hydro and mechanical) Finally found the cash to upgrade this year, I now have hydraulic disks on my new bike, but keeping my old one around for Street riding and as a spare

Angus Hunter - I try to be in the right gear at the right time, but when I'm tired I can mess up and clunk the gears. Its usually your not going fast enough to shift up so you are changing gears under load

Only recently was I able to successfully adopt 1-fingered braking when I bought a bike with SRAM's Matchmaker. Prior to that, if I wanted my shift levers in proper reach, the brake levers subsequently came too far in and aligned more with my middle fingers and using a middle finger by itself was too weird. Thanks Matchmaker! After 21 years of riding, now I'm a cool, one-finger kid!

Estiaan du Plooy Good for you, it serves you right for riding recklessly when vision was reduced. You weren't on a race track. There could have been a spill with a kid on the ground. Two months later, a broken arm, possibly an injured victem and you still haven't learned it was your fault. Glad you ride a bicycle instead of a motorcycle.
@JackBringloe
@JackBringloe 6 лет назад
Why are you assuming he was riding recklessly? Here in the real world, cyclists riding a mountain bike on bike trails are not going to slow to walking pace for each corner just in case some idiot like you is standing in the blind apex picking dingleberries out of their ass crack. If you don't like that there are several options to consider: a) Stick to hiker-only trails b) Keep your ears open and excercise some trail manners and basic common sense c:) My favorite: stay home! There are enough assholes out there already. One fewer will not be missed.
