As a brand-new Hero12 owner, I was introduced to the Hohem gimbal in another video. Searching for Hohem gimbals, I found your video. Thank you for the great tips! You certainly sold me on buying a gimbal. I'm intrigued to watch your other videos.
Can you grab the camera/gimbal head and tilt/point the head up or down? You could do this with the old Karma gimbal and it would stay where you pointed it. This is instead do using the joy stick.
That’s a great question. I don’t think so with this one. I know what you’re talking about with the Karma. I still own one that I use sometimes with my Hero 6 Black. It’s unfortunate GoPro left the gimbal/drone business. I get it why they did but I wish they would make a gimbal again specific for GoPros like the Karma. I’d love to have one for the newer ones for a lot of situations.
I’ve reached out to GoPro and suggested a gimbal would be a great product to create again on a few occasions over the years. Hopefully if enough people express this interest, they might consider it.
Awesome Video! I got the Hohem iSteady Pro 4 for my Bday! 🤩Just learning to use it. What setting did you have your Gimbal while recording? The 4 options left of the joystick. 🕹️ Thankyou!!!
Thank you for sharing those informative videos. I'm curious, are there any AI-powered gimbals that work seamlessly with both GoPro cameras and smartphones?
good video .... But i dont think need a gimble for doing these kind of shots and normal shots ... cuz 12 stabilizer is good + if need more gyro flow soft can do ,,,,But i love the gimble , good video mate
Stumbled across this video and really liked it. If I may ask a question, does the Isteady Pro 4 buttons all work with the GoPro Hero 12? Bought one a week ago and am looking for a gimbal.
Great tips! Thanks for sharing. In my latest videos, I've been using my old Gopro hero7 Back with a gimbal that I bought for €40, (the Zhiyun evolution) together with the 3m Selfie Stick from my insta360 X3 and I've been taking some fantastic footage.😊 Greetings from Portugal
Thank you! That’s a great combination you have. For my GoPro 6 I actually still have the GoPro Karma grip and use that as a gimbal for the Hero 6. It still works.
Thank you! Great question. I actually kept the gimbal in PF mode for all of these shots. I like the PF mode for most use cases but the other modes have their place depending upon the footage you want.
Hi. We are thinking of buying this gimbal. A question though. Would it take the weight of the DJI Osmo Action 4 with a microphone receiver attached to the camera? Thanks.
I actually used this one from Insta360: amzn.to/3tOzvWm Note that I don’t recommend fully extending it with the weight of the gimbal on the end but I find partially extending it works just fine with no issues.
Thank you for your quick response and for the time that you take creating these excellent videos. I am looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Hi There, I need to ask, you did not mention at the start of your video what setting should the Hohem iSteady 4 Gimble be, "PF" , "PTF" or "POV" great video otherwise. 👌
This gimbal will not support the Media Mod, unfortunately. The Media Mod makes it physically a bit too bulky for the gimbal clip to fit over the GoPro.
Yes, you can use it stabilize the Action 4 and it will provide the needed gimbal stabilization. However, I do not believe this will pair with the Action 4 to control the Action 4 to start and stop recording.
I was able to pair these successfully but I have found that I have to make sure I only have the GoPro paired to the gimbal and not to the GoPro Quik app on my phone, the Volta, or the Remote. Otherwise, the GoPro is not able to be controlled using the gimbal buttons.
Are you using one of the GoPro-recommend microSD cards? Those are listed here: community.gopro.com/s/article/microSD-Card-Considerations?language=en_US Also, are you using GoPro genuine batteries? Not using a recommended microSD or not having a GoPro genuine battery can be two common sources of overheating.
Make sure you GoPro isn’t currently paired with the Quik app, remote, or other device. I have sometimes found that it won’t connect properly when already connected via another device. If it’s not do a reset in the wireless connections menu on the GoPro and this will generally allow it to connect after that.
