I looked up the Japanese cannibal's victim photos. The fact this guy is still alive, a celebrity in Japan, and never got jail time shows there is something seriously wrong with this world.
Shame on Japan for letting a piece of shit like Issa Sagawa live... !! They used to have High Class Government Decapitators there for the likes of him. Nowadays Japan must hire a for real NINJA to get it done...? What's wrong with this world..?
Not to mention he kept mountain climbing for a few years after as well. Also, how much did he make at Intel for 5 years that he could pretty much retire at 26 and take up mountain climbing full time?!
It's worse to see the guy in the canyon relive his experience than it is the video he made. My heart went out to him at his reaction after he said "I wasn't even attached anymore and I fell down like this.." You can see he was looking around like he was dealing with a flashback of that traumatic experience. Makes me want to cry.
Yes!! I was thinking how incredible for him in that moment. I think he was struck by the realization that he was back in the same exact spot where he had his most harrowing, yet happiest moment of his life. I am sure he never dreamed he would be back in that spot one day, with a film crew and reporter, recounting his story.
Thank you for showing so much footage of Steve, it felt like I went right back to sitting in front of my childhood TV, smiling at my pseudo nature dad, the guy who inspired me to go into animal conservation. We all miss you, Steve 😢
R. Ward .... lmao, yeah, he had to break it first as the knife wouldn't cut through bone. Did you hear how he had to use the rock against his body as leverage to snap it?
Steve Irwins death is kind of ironic. He was constantly around extremely aggressive and dangerous animals, but rarely got seriously injured. But he was stabbed to death by a stingray, an animal that is usually passive.
@@cohenmaunder9767 Even worse, if he'd left the barb in he might have had a chance at surviving long enough to get to the hospital and let them remove it.
This is so true 👍 I use to love coming home from school and watching Crocodile Hunter, every day I’d get in I’d put it on and was always fascinated by the work Steve did and his love for all animals. Even though I didn’t know Steve personally it still hit me hard when the news came on about his death, i couldn’t believe it. I’m 34 now and every time I watch a clip of Steve Irwin it brings back childhood memories, good and bad. What a Legend 🕊 👏🙏
No I blame the idiots that pulled the barb out if they had left it in it would stopped the bleeding ,they should have wrapped it and got him to a medic.
For anyone wondering about Issei Segawa, while he was a celebrity for a time due to the horrible act he did, in later years before his death, particularly amongst the rising youth and up & coming, he became an outcast by everyone for it; he was unable to find work, no one wanted to publish his works, he was rejected from a French language school and was denied access to his parents' funeral... And he hated EVERY moment of it. So while he was never properly punished by the justice system, because of his actions (the actions he claims to have come to regret) he was unable to live even a passable life.
Same deal with the Sylvia Likens murder. They under-sentenced all the culprits, most of them ended up dying of chain-smoking related ailments because the stress was so bad and Paula was fired and had to move recently because someone located her and posted it on the internet
He wasnt made a celebrity until long after. He was a disgrace when he first went back, his family would be threatened and all kinds of stuff. I think France should have thrown him under the Prison but he didnt have an easy life after that. It took the next generation to see him as some cult hero.
When Steve died, so did the channel Animal Planet. He was thier star pretty much. Now they show dumb shows like "Treehouse Masters" or "Insane Pools Off The Deep End. Nothing to do with animals anymore. R.I.P. Steve Irwin, you are dearly missed!🙏💖
A part of me will always be in denial that Steve is gone and has been for years now. Both of his kids, Bindi and Robert, have turned into great people. He'd be beaming with pride if he could see them today, i'm sure.
The first guy is the stud of all studs. How can you cut your own arm off without fainting or having a stroke or heart attack from the pain? And he kept trying and trying until he was successful. Most of us would have given up. What he did is beyond belief.
When adrenaline rushes in, and your survival instincts are at an all time high...you would probably cut your own arm too in that situation, we think of it as an unbelievable act, but humans are capable of doing crazy things to survive
After so long you'll began realizing your fate, if you don't do anything you'll definitely die. So you might as well die trying than just laying there accepting your fate. I'm sure after hrs of his arm being crushed he lost most of the feeling in his arm. The cutting itself he likely didn't feel, not until he cut through the nerves and had to snap the bone in his arm. He was more concerned about stopping the bleeding after that point. So basically the whole process would be fairly quickly after he reaches the point of no return. He likely slowly cut into his arm at first, but once he cut through the artery he had to hurry. It's an amazing feat nevertheless.
It probably went numb and he went delirious in the heat nearly dying . Unless your in that situation you don’t know . I know I would cut my own arm off if it meant I saw my family again
He’s huge isn’t he. Three blokes like him could build a bridge to the Moon. I like to believe myths regarding myself but I’d be dangling from that jammed rock to this day in extremely poor shape
I don't think they should have destroyed the basement tape. At least from a psychological research perspective it could be useful to help identify characteristics of future young murderers.
@@mother7219 I don’t see the efficacy of watching the tapes of future mass murderers will benefit the general public, who already hero-worship them and consider them heroes. This should only be studied by academics and law enforcement agencies.
I actually saw Dawn and Shamoo perform at Sea World as a little kid, I remember thinking how impressive and friendly she was and how awesome the whale was, even when he used his flipper to splash us all in the audience... learning this happened to her made me so sad, but learning how inhumane Sea World was made me even sadder.

My lord, Aron is such an unbelievable badass. I would never have the nerve and courage to break and amputate my own arm. I have infinite respect for him.
@@billsussman6554 understandable. Everyone has a right to their opinion, and I don't mean to take anything away from what he's done, but I just can't help from looking at it as a price that he had to pay in order to live due to him being so wreckless, and irresponsible in the first place, and it's true that a lot of people don't have the heart to break, and amputate their own arm like he did, but then again. I can't imagine many people being so careless that it would land them in a similar situation anyway. I can't call him a hero. He's no role model. In fact the best thing that you could teach a kid that relates to him is to not be as wreckless as him. He's really just a lucky sob to me, but I'm still glad that he lived to tell his story.
Wild orcas swim up to boaters, kayakers, even swimmers all the time. And no one's ever been killed by a wild orca. But there are many stories of captive orcas killing people. I think that speaks for itself.
Orcas are extremely intelligent. I can imagine how frustrated and broken are those in captivity, constantly forced to perform. No wonder they attack sometimes.
Rip Steve Irwin. I miss you. You taught me to respect all life. I even broke my fear of non venomous snakes! Thank you. I may never get over your loss sir

Yeah and I don't buy he's remorseful feelings either, as he has stated he would very much like to eat another person before he dies... And I don't doubt for a second that he will try.
I was barely 8 years old when Steve died but I still remember my mom telling me that he died. Probably the first time I had to deal with death. But to this day I follow the Irwins. I'm really happy for Bindi and Chandler! And Robert is basically just like his father. I wish them all the best
The Dutch legal system really let Renee down. Now he’s out, wandering free and literally making money from his books about killing her. I can’t imagine how heartbreaking this is for the family. This is fucking disgusting.
It was the French legal system actually. But thankfully under Japanese law the man is not allowed to make any profit off of the story. None of the profit made from the books he made etc goes to him.
I’ve had 13 broken bones in my life. Some of the most intense pain imaginable is a compound break. That dude intentionally broke his arm bones completely and THEN cut his own arm off with a multi tool. That dude is the toughest man on earth
Yep. This is a re-upload. Even _audio_ of Dylan and Eric isn't allowed. RU-vid's desperation to keep people from talking about "the-school-that-shall-not-be-named" is ridiculous.
Steve Irwin is the reason I love reptiles so much. He wouldn't blame any animal for hurting him, he would admit it was his mistake that caused his death. Terri got the video of his death, destroyed it and said it was never to be made public as it would be to traumatising.
@Jav Mar I don't believe it's an attempt to make fun of him. In a way, it's more of a compliment. Saying Steve wouldn't have blamed the stingray because he had always been passionate about what he did, and he loved all animals to bits, no matter how capable they are of ending human lives. In short, it's a way to say that Steve, being the wholesome guy that he was, would've understood that the stingray was only trying to defend itself instead of actively trying to kill him.
No cap, Steve Urwin used to be my next door neighbor as a kid. I lived on the same street his Australian Zoo is on, he had nothing but the most respect for animals. He even helped me look my for missing dogs in the forestry area around his park.
I miss him alot. I used to love his shows as a little girl and it got me interested in animals when i was a kid. When he died it was the end of an era i think.😢 r.i.p steve irwin🌺🌹🌻
@@keychain3039, his son is continuing his legacy though with the Australia zoo and animals... He’s a lot like him and it’s beautiful to see him follow in his dads footsteps
I have family from Florida and my aunt used to be really close with Dawn. I met her whale as a kid at Sea World; after the show ended, we were allowed to go on stage to pet him, feed him fish - I stroked his tongue and teeth and everything. It’s so bizarre to have had such an intimate experience with this whale and Dawn herself.
Dawn's death was so tragic. Both her and Steve knew the risk of the animals they worked with but in Steve's case it was a wild animal doing what it does in tragic accident. In Dawn's case it was a mistreated captive animal doing what a wild animal does when it feels angered, and Sea World was completely to blame. Not Dawn, not Tilikum the whale whom you mistreated.
Dawn should take accountability. She willing assisted in the cruel, degrading and criminally driven enterprise. Tilikum was a great Orca taking the fight to his tormentors.
They need to let those animals go. The do not help them they put them in tiny tanks for years and years. I read the reason they're dorsal fin slump over is because they cannot swim and eat frozen fish.
Were you warned that your comment wasn't safe for RU-vid? I was REPEATEDLY warned about mine, and it wasn't far off of yours. It was: Hunting for food=good Keeping wild animals for entertainment=you get what you get.
@Manda lynn ABSOLUTELY!!!! Tilikum was sick from not being able to swim freely & eating frozen food, all you had to do to realise this was look at his dorsal fin... NO healthy, free Orca has been seen with a flopped fin, what that poor orca and so many others went through in those tiny pools was HORRIFIC!!!!! I read a comment above where some said, "Sea world owned the whales" NO the stole them from the sea and shut them in caged pools for years & years & years makes me sick to my stomach!!!!
I wanted to be a trainer and work with Killerwhales when I was a kid - I was obsessed with it but then I saw Blackfish and heard about Dawn...it broke my heart how they blamed her. It also killed me inside after studying Killerwhales and learning how emotionally traumatized these poor creatures are in captivity. Living in a small pool is no life for them...they need their pods just like we need our families for support and love. They shouldn't blame Dawn though....that is a low move on their part.
Sea World only cares about profit. They dont give a F about the trainers or aquatic animals they selfishly keep in captivity for their own greedy motives.
Yea and these zoos for what? Our viewing entertainment?...i understand alot of animals grow up like this and may not survive in the wild but we can do better that what we're doin...we have an entire huge world big enough for us and the animals like God intended
@@nope66755 I don’t think the trainers even knew what was happening with the orcas because most of them were great swimmers but they were *not* required to be a marine biologist. It was mostly higher-ups at sea world that knew what happened and how they got the orcas.
I like to think Steve Irwins thoughts to the stingray would be “it’s okay, you were just scared weren’t you?..” Edit- thank you for all the likes! I’m glad it’s about Steve Irwin!
I think he showed everyone that yes some animals are dangerous, but they are never evil. They are just defending themselves or trying to survive/get food. Evil is a human trait.
Absolutely. I watched the episode where he had to transport a alligator and he was devastated when the alligator lost a tooth even though Steve’s arm was bleeding like mad. As someone who adores animal and has worked at rescues Steve Urwin is 100% my role model

I predict that if a million cars on the roads of the UK are running they will at least chuck out 1kg of co2 between them all. These are all indescribably obvious predictions. I remember being at the end of my freshman year of high school when the Columbine shooting happened. We'd went through the whole year with a cool quiet guy wearing a trenchcoat almost everyday. The day this happened he immediately became everyone's enemy and was bullied to no end. He never broke, even after being suspended out of fear. He never said anything or did anything bad. I tried to help my friends defend him as he was their friend. Rumors can have major consequences on the undeserving. He moved away because of it. It's an event from high school I'll always remember. It's one thing when students are scared and doing it but it's a whole other level when the teachers and staff get scared and you over hear them theorizing.
The absolute heartache I felt when I heard about Steve’s passing💔🥺 he played such a huge part in a lot of our lives/childhood. I remember just being up and watching him and he always gave such a comfortable vibe and always made me feel happy. His passing was definitely a big thing! I still remember the moment I heard the news💔 thought it was a lie…and when I realized it wasn’t I literally bawled crying 😭
My heart breaks everytime I think about Steve Irwin. He was my childhood hero. I remember waking up super early to watch his show on Animal Planet, and would sometimes talk in an Australian accent. I grew up being around the same age as Bindi and would imagine we were friends and worked at the zoo. I was 8 or 9 when I heard that he had passed away. My parents had to take me aside and explain that he had died and I just remember being devastated. I cannot imagine the pain his family went through, but I know that they know that Steve impacted so many peoples lives and was an inspiration to many.
Steve grew up in the same area where I live which was surrounded by nature back in the late 60's and 70's. His parents owned the Beerwah Reptile and Fauna Park, a small reptile farm where Steve learnt all about reptiles and other animals. My parents looked after injured kangaroos, raised them and they stayed with us at our property, living inside and hopping around outside when they pleased. After a couple of our kangaroos died, my Mum called Bob (Steve's Dad) and asked if they had any injured kangaroos, which they did and Bob drove to our house with a baby joey for us to raise and take care of. Bob got out of his car with the joey and next to him was his son Steve, a lanky surfy kid who wouldn't have been more than 15/16 at the time. Bob was really nice by my parent's account and Steve was quiet at the time as you'd expect being a teenager following along with his Dad. Both Bob and Steve loved animals and are the genuine article.
I can't Even Begin to immange what Steve's family went through. I remember growing up and watching him on TV and I just thought of Australia as this huge far off place somewhere on this rock we call earth. And just hearing about his death I thought honestly it was fake when I heard about it. But I mean, I really do think that he is a big reason why I grew up to love all animals (with the exception of spiders, FUCK SPIDERS!!) But I mean I used to immange myself in this huge house with just myself and dogs and all other means of critters. I just wish that Steve Irwin was still alive today, I'd of loved to of met him, I'd love to just tell him how much he ment to some dumbass confused kid and their siblings. We truly did lose an amazing person that day and I just would of loved to see him talking about how instead of turning brother against brother friends against friends we should focus on loving not only ourselves and our loved ones, but on working together to love animals and help those who can't ask for help. I really don't ever want to have to witness that footage, I hope that if any copies remain of it they stay hidden away forever.
I'm one of those people who've been visiting the Columbine massacre incident a lot. I have searched for footage everywhere in the Archive website, and in the future I want to make a small documentary about these two dudes. I have listened, watched, and replayed tons of documentaries involving Columbine. Two students $ui$ided after the shooting, 13 fatal deaths (excluding the protagonists of the shooting), +50 injuries and much, much more. Everytime I remind myself about the shooting, I just *think*, and I can't bear hearing 911 calls because of the shooting. I always listen to victims and their messages, in which includes Craig Scott, brother of Rachel Scott (a.k.a. the first death of the school shooting) I want to investigate this even further, as both teenagers had this sort of... bond. They committed this act, probably because they *wanted* to. I might edit this and add more if I want to, but right now this is what I have. I'm gonna keep watching the video now, thanks for reading anyways haha.
I can not imagine the overwhelming emotional experience that Aron went through AND then to talk about it on top of RETURNING to the very place this ALL HAPPENED TO HIM, has to be the WORST experience of his life!! He is, in my opinion, the MOST BRAVEST INDIVIDUAL I HAVE EVER Seen on RU-vid!!!
I think what initially happened to them would be considered the worst experience, returning to the place you almost died with the story of survival is quite empowering

Regarding the first story. To slice your own flesh to the bone, the entire circumference no less and then break your bone in half with a rock takes a ENORMOUS amount of willpower to live. Our skin is super stretchy and thick so you’d be surprised how much strength is required to rip it apart so you’d definitely have to slice it completely or suffer a gruesomely painful tare. This man deserves to live the rest of his life pain free. Don’t forget to tell people what your doing and bring a satellite phone if your going to do stuff like this or a bone saw.
I read Aron's book, "Between A Rock And A Hard Place." One of the best I ever read. One part in the book, he talks about how when he begins to lose hope he thinks of his family. The good times he's had with them, and how he'll never see them again if he ain't able to find a way outta the canyon. Aron then begins to go on a big stream of consciousness, wondering if this is his brain's last ditch effort for survival, making him think of his loved ones. And he asks himself if this is why some people commit suicide, because they have no connections to fall back on, no good memories to draw from in their darkest moments to help them keep going. Good read, highly recommend
I've seen _Cannibal Holocaust._ It was actually on Hulu many years ago. I've seen a lot of gruesome stuff in my time, including real footage of people dying in horrible ways, but for some reason the scene of the guy butchering the big tortoise actually made me queasy (and yes, I know the tortoise was actually butchered for real).
Can we talk about how fucked up it is that a TV show made Aaron Ralston go back to a canyon and describe in vivid detail being trapped and having to break and cut off his own arm? I had no idea reading the first two comments was such a difficult thing to do, how fascinating the RU-vid community is...
@The End No one's tougher than PTSD, that's like saying that someone can be too tough to be addicted to meth. Just because he is able to scatter his ashes without breaking into tears upon seeing the spot where he suffered, doesn't mean he wasn't fighting his PTSD the whole time. Heck, maybe he broke down and cried when he got home once the reality of what he had done finally registered. In any case, it's incredibly disrespectful to insinuate that anyone who succumbs to PTSD after a traumatic event is weak. Are the Vietnam veterans who went through far worse things than Aaron did for a longer period of time weak because they succumb to the PTSD they experienced?

After his death in '06, they showed the stingray shooting a barb straight up into his chest and it was only 1 hit. He floated face down after that. This is what was shown over and over. Just one hit and he was gone.
They showed his death... even pictures of the barb in him and him pulling it out... idk why this guy said some of these aren't available... just about every one he mentioned I've seen or heard either from the news or online back in the day.
@@scarboroughtheog3996 lol same, Ive heard the audio of the bear tapes too, some odd years ago, maybe around 2016. The Also the steve irwin video wasnt that graphic, mostly because it recorded with 2006 potato resolution lol
I really enjoyed the summary with your own opinions at the end. Added a nice personal touch without clouding the main content. Not something I recall anyone else doing.
Steve Irwin passed a little before my 5th birthday. It was the first celebrity death I remember. You could tell he was really passionate about the stuff he did. You rarely even get that these days. Even on RU-vid anymore, that's why I think he has such an acclaim from people in my generation. We grew up in the era of all those tabloids as kids and then here was Steve living his best life til the end.
Aron's description of freeing himself was very emotional, that he had to sacrifice his own limb in a way of freeing himself completely... and the way he talked about it shows how he's either both shook, and happy that he'd free himself at the cost of his hand/lower forearm.
It's kinda hard for me seeing old steve shows now because I always watched with my dad. I swear my dad looked a lot like him too and was just as happy go lucky.
How can you "lose" a bag full of body parts lol. (Not laughing at her death, just laughing at the idea of him getting home and thinking aww shit, where did I leave that?)
Fun fact about Aron Ralston: in the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror segment parodying Aron's pinning and subsequent escape (the one where Homer thinks he's stolen his kids' Halloween candy, which leads to him being pinned under a rock in the Grand Canyon with a bag full of veggies after being deceived by Bart), Aron himself voices the 911 worker that answers Homer's 911 call. The fact that Aron has a good sense of humor about something that probably would've un-alived you, me, or anyone else is the most amazing part of that whole situation.
@@kris7500 everyone is different with what bothers them , it’s not a bad thing that it doesn’t bother you. After working in a hospital I have seen a lot of gross stuff, you get used to it .
RIP Crocdile Hunter. Faced many dangers to bring people true nature knowledge on world's most dangerous while treating all animals with respect and care. Thank you for all you did for the world.
I remember watching Steve's memorial on TV. I cried. He really was a good guy, and his passion for the animals was something I've never seen since. Irwin rider for life
To the Erwin family, your husband and father was my hero and gave me my passion for the study of the misunderstood animals of land and sea. Rest in peace Steve Erwin we love you.
