Hands down gotta be my second favorite bus diesel engine out there! 1st place for me being the T444E, god I love that V8 motor! The CAT C7 Inline 6 is still a great motor!
My old bus was a 2005 Bluebird Vision with the Caterpillar C7 and I know they are temperamental, At least mine was and I HAD to have it plugged in overnight and the middays. It would start in the cold weather with a little sweet talking than throw its fit the next time and smoke out the garage and seeing your video Brought back memories. Also I always enjoy the rumble of the Caterpillar C7s.
@@Bluebirdvision91the epa killed a ton of good diesel engines leaving just Cummins, paccar and Detroit. Mostly Cummins though. And it’s boring because everything has the same engine now.
@@Bluebirdvision91 and many will say that everything except Maxxforce is reliable but every diesel engine took some sort of a hit on reliability when emissions regulations were introduced. I miss the dt466, cat engines, (even Maxxforce DT) Mercedes diesel’s and earlier powerstroke engines(7.3 and 6.0) Those all sounded great.
@@charlesrodriguez7984 The 6.0 was made due to California's bull nonsense (emissions) in 2003 which replaced the 7.3, but was famously known for being one of if not the most unreliable diesel engine in history.
Yep, gotta love a good cat motor. My school still currently has three of the first gens, one is a 2004, wich starts and runs pretty good if the batteries are at enough voltage. The other is a 2005, wich starts and runs fairly goog as well, with the acception of really bad smoking from the rear( on warm and cool days most of the tine.) Last but certainly not least, we still currently have a 2006, as well, but it went dow a couple school years back, do to a faild crankshaft, you csn still turn the key on to the auxiliary position, and it will act just fine, but sadly it will not start, and run.
