I am so torn about Natalie. On one hand she can be very articulate about her feelings and needs, and on the other hand, she belittles him, fat-shames him, insults his environment and lifestyle and yet, she still expects him to not just love her, but be in love with her. The ring is just the tip of the iceberg. Praise her friend for being so down to earth and helpful. It is,sad to see this couple down,this path, they were so much in love the previous season.

I'm sure other people have said this before but I really think for Natalie and her culture/family that being married is more important than who she is married to. They really don't get along, and she finds something to be unhappy with almost constantly. It's clear to me that it doesn't matter who she marries just as long as she's not single anymore.

I'm glad you're talking about healthy examples of triangulation because I think social media shows a lot of really unhealthy examples of people judging other people's relationships. For example, on Reddit, there are popular advice subreddits where people will submit their interpersonal issues and crowdsource advice. Part of the problem is that the stories are usually heavily one-sided, and people will suggest that the person dumps their partner/quits their job/cuts off contact with their family any time there's any conflict, plus there seems to be a pretty strong narrative that "you don't owe anything to anybody." I'm sure these sorts of discussions have damaged a lot of repairable relationships between people. Thank you for sharing another point of view.

You would need to deal with this type - to really understand it but he is breaking her piece by piece. You have no idea how quietly abusive this type can be. while making others think he is a victim. Remember Colt with Larissa - everyone thought he was the victim because Larrisa said some no-nice words and screamed.

@tylersmith3139 3 года назад
@@angelikapotree2741 A) What has she exactly done to fix their relationship, continually insult him and then give a half-assed apology about the ring afterwards, completely ignoring else she's done wrong? Yes, that's helped the relationship sooo much. He All she has done is repeat the exact same behaviour she did in Ukraine, YesYes, he did. In the last season, he was completely fine with their differences while she was the one who gaslighted for those differences. He tried patching up their relationship by giving her a hero's welcome to which she responded by insulting his house and going out of her way to say how much she hates the flowers he got. If your bf constantly berated, gaslighted and abused you multiple times, you also would talk about what they need to work on, but what you guys both need to work on. What is he supposed to say? "Can you stop calling me low class, please?". The fact that everyone expects him to act as if everything is fine and smile and be happy while she abuses him is honestly disgusting. He's not quietly abusive, she's an active abuser and he calls her out on her abusive nature, when Jessie did the same thing to Darcey and Darcey fought back, no one called Darcey a quiet abuser. Speaking on Colt and Larissa, Colt cheated and he was definitely trash, but if the gender roles were reversed and it was a guy beating on his girlfriend for cheating, no one would defend that guy. Both people were utter trash in that relationship, not to mention, she bragged about going to jail for beating him up. Guys don't get those excuses, abuse is abuse, Larissa never loved Colt in the first place so it was easy for her to abuse him and speak about how fat she thought he was when he showed his true colors, he was a bad person, but she's just as bad, he's a cheater, she's an abuser, you don't get to abuse people because they cheated on you.

I’m so confused. Maybe something is happening off camera to lead Mike to believe that he is putting in all of this work he keeps referring to. All I see is him wanting to put the past behind him when it comes to the allegations of him cheating. Yet, he can’t put the past behind him over the situation of Natalie giving him the ring back. Either way, putting the past behind him is not doing work. He isn’t addressing his own feelings and then communicating them and working threw it with Natalie, nor is he addressing hers. Now when therapy is on the table, which is the ACTUAL work, he doesn’t want to do it. I am so frustrated by them. And then for Natalie to say she THINKS he’s mad about her giving the ring back. Like wtf. I think that’s more than obvious. Maybe it’s the language barrier or a cultural thing but for her to say she doesn’t love him anymore and then for him to finally say the same thing, why in her head is she still under the impression that they are going to get married. Why would she even want to? Is the K1-Visa a one time thing? Can they decide to hold off on the engagement and she goes back to her country and they continue to date until they are ready for that next step again?

Honestly, I can hardly ever think of a time mike reached out to her and gave even as little as a half-apology. In situations they are resolving, he still keeps a cold face and acts above her, like she is the crazy one. I know Natalie snaps and is passive aggressive, but it is her getting triggered by this vibe. Can you imagine being in a relationship with someone who genuinely views himself as superior but he is unable to communicate anything really. Like the level of a 1st grader. She is mainly upset because he never is the one to reach out for her, it's always her and it makes her feel like shit probably.

I honestly don't think that Natalie and Mike are well suited for each other. they are used to different lifestyles, have different expectations for their future lives. Natalie needs a lot of validation, Mike is constantly cold and aloof. I think Natalie is sill hanging in there because she really wants a relationship and children and Mike sticks around and backtracks because he has an avoidant personality and doesn't know how to properly express his wants and needs. Also TLC hiring them for more seasons gives them incentives, both financial and social, to keep going at it.

Perhaps if Mike had listened to her and expressed to her that he understood her concerns while assuring her that nothing at all had happened but that he could see why she would feel uncomfortable and then apologizing for making her uncomfortable and promising to not do that ever again she would have felt heard and understood. But I think that his response was more on the defensive side and he simply said well nothing happened and it was all innocent and then left it there and she felt incomplete in that conversation. Sometimes just trying to understand the other person's perspective goes a long way.

I think Natalie is sabotizing herself. The moment she chose to hope on a plane and go to the US she should have left all these thoughts behind and start planning a future with Mike. I don’t get what she is expecting after her constantly whining about something that happened years ago and she chose to continue this relationship and even went to America to marry him. She should either let the relationship go the moment she learned about it one and a half year ago or now she should focus on her relationship and her new life in the US and start trusting Mike

When she backpedaled & tried to correct herself that she was jealous, not jealous, just not confident... uh, she seemed jealous. If you didn't betray someone & you don't have a guilty conscience then you should try to explain and reassure your partner but how much, for how long till you tire of it? If his friend had been a male the events as she described them may not have bothered her so much. I think I would initially be jealous too but I think Mike said they were under the influence & they didn't know the groom wouldn't make it home that night. She does take responsibility for her actions but she's so controlling and dramatic. If she treated the relationship with more respect she would have less to apologize for.

There is a lot of shaming towards people going to the therapy. I don't know how is it in America, but in my country, when you say you go to therapy, they tend to think that going to the therapy is a sign of being weak and whiney and that you should be able to fix things on your own but you are so incompetent that you need a therapist to help you with your issues. If you break a leg most people will recognise the pain you are in and see that you can't walk properly and will even give you a lift to the doctor. If your heart is broken or your relationship going through the rough time, well, you have to fix it yourself. If that huge pressure from the society would change, that would be nice but some people may feel guilty when thinking about therapy and thinking like "I am not good enough to solve my life by myself and that is bad and shows that I am a bad person". I go to therapy myself and sometimes when I mention it, some people literally get offended by the statement itself. Or some others immediately start looking at me like I am someone very deeply broken and possibly a psycho. :D There is a lot of prejudice about that and this stops people searching for help. There should be more education of the public. And more channels like yours, because it's a huge thing that something so valuable is available to the public to watch and inspire them. :)

Its not mind games from Mike... it IS Kinda hard to commit and want to distance yourself from someone who insults and belittles you on tv... How is it that Nat doesnt see that? She thinks of the bad things Mike has done but only a small percentage of what she has done to hurt him... Does she see herself in such a gold standard that she cant ALL the parts where she may have caused him to not want to be engaged to her? If Mike called her fat drunk with a low i.q would she want to be engaged? No i dont think so.... So Nat is just so strange and somewhat triggering me in regards to that.

Natalie is nit a nice person. She is cruel to Mike. She wants to control his eating and his life style. She insults him. She only want to get married and have a child. The only reason she will apologize is she wants the child. Mike sees that and he should get her on the plane and get rid of her. She is a awful person. I don’t think your advice is healthy.
