Attention all Malibu owners. Most likely your check engine light will come on after installing these headlights. It did for me and I freaked out. Because you pulled the air intake manifold off, the car’s computer will read crazy error codes. Don’t panic. Simply disconnect the battery terminal after installation and reconnect after a few minutes and it will reboot the computer, thus clearing all error codes.

@parisoftheplains I owe you a big time. I had the check engine sign since 2 years for the error p1101. Worked throughout the car but still couldnt fix it. I am not able explain how grateful I am for your comments. Thanks a lot buddy.🤩🤩

Did this for my grandmas ride. I didn't need to remove intake. But driver side was a little harder to fit my hand. Easier on my accord

@@Scallywag94 The covers protect the headlight from water and messes, keep clean. But it's ok to leave the covers off, which will leave more space for the heat-dissipation of LED bulbs.

I saw some people recommending to keep the dust cap off. With the dust cap back on would the light overheat much?

It will improve the efficiency of heat-dissipation if you leave the dust cap off, which is better for LED lifespan. But it's ok to close the dust cap, because these LED bulbs are designed with temperature-control system, which keeps LED bulb work well in a proper temperature range. We suggest you drill some small holes on the dust cap and keep it.

Hi, you just need one pair of LED bulbs(2 bulbs). For 2016 2017 Malibu, the high beam and low beam share the same bulb. You can check your headlight, there is only one projector on each side. Hello, HID and LED are different typs. The brightness depends on the wattage, lumens/Lux and color temperature. Do you want super bright LEDs?

Hello, I have a 2016 malibu and on my passenger side my low beam works but not my high beam. If it is using the same bulb for both what could be causing the issue?

Hi, did you purchased the LED bulbs from lasfit.com? If so, please contact us for support by email(cs@lasfit.com) Thank you. The high beam and low beam use the same bulb will not cause the issue. Did you try to exchange two LED bulbs, to check if the high beam works on the other side?

Your factoy headlights are halogen bulbs, right? If so, these LED bulbs will fit.

That's probably because 2016 thru 2018 use same parts. I assume it was changed in 2019 models

@@lasfitvehiclelife 21 Malibu. I found out I have to partially take off the nose to get to the low beam. Why did they design it this way?. Ugh. Also I was told to use an HID.🤷‍♂️ thx for your reply

Do not unplug the MAF, it’s a sensitive plug and will throw all kinds of nasty codes if it doesn’t replug back in perfectly

I was trying to install my Lasfit Bulbs on my 2018 Chevy Malibu LT, But i couldn't get the ring on the bulb to lock on the housing. i'm not sure if i'm rotating it wrong. Someone help me!

Hi, did you purchase 9005 LED bulbs? The white collar socket has 3 sticking points, different shapes. You need to use it to align the headlight housing socket(the hole), then press it and turn it to lock it in place.
