Speaking of adult jokes Can you maybe do one for Total Drama as well? Even though it’s labeled as a “kids show” it still has a lot of profanity and inappropriate moments. In the words of the late emperor Sheev “the senate” Palpatine, “DEW IT!”
I love the Michelangelo bit where he introduces himself as painter of the Sistine Chapel and Yakko just goes, “Oh yeah? If you’re so great, then where’s the other fifteen chapels?”
It's like Yakko says whenever these types of jokes get involved, "Goodnight Everybody!" Whether it's Yakko and Wakko's insane crush on Hello Nurse or when Harley Quinn is inside a giant pie for her Mr. J, Warner Brothers or even WB Kids isn't safe for Adult Jokes like these.😅
Would like to see a video on that I wonder where they would rank Cody falling in Lady Liberty’s bosom or Heather accidentally flashing her top (let me remind you that she was 16 at the time).
What really made my childhood are these right here! Warner Bros had most of mt favorite cartoons like the DCAU, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Freakazoid! WB had it all!! 😊😊😊
01:14 The running gag throughout Tny Toon Adventures was when Buster and Babs bunny introduced themselves they would ALWAYS follow up with "No relation" owing to the last name "Bunny". This Animaniacs episode took it JUST a bit farther. BUT it's all taken a VERY dark turn, with the Tiny Toons reboot where Buster and Babs, Previously in a romantic relationship [or as romantic as Kids can be in] are now clearly stated and shown to be Brother and Sister. "Let's hope not, it's a Children's show" 02:19 One of the original Warner brothers shorts did this gag, Two cats chasing Tweety-Bird, one catches him from the nest, the other yels Give me the Bird, GIVE-ME-THE-BIRD!! The other looks at the fourth wall [audience] and says "If only the haze Office would let me, I'd give him the bird Alright."
One of my fav Pinky responses to Brain's "Pinky, Are you pondering what I am pondering?" Pinky: "I think so Brain, but if Jimmy cracks Corn, why does anybody care???"
You missed Road Rovers. Several there. Blitz obsessed with "biting tooshies" in one episode Hunter orders him to guard the back entrance. Blitz comments he will "bite anything coming out of the rear". Then you got the punch line to the russian name song.
I love cartoon adult jokes because it's practically hilarious like Beavis and Butthead series with too much of adult content/jokes but besides that, the 1990's got major innuendo in kids cartoons and still love them period.
My sister and I grew up with most of these, except for the ones from the 2000s. Since I was in high school during the 90s, when most of these shows had aired, I understood most of the jokes. And even though she was only in about the third or fourth grade at the time, my sister laughed right along with me. We're pretty intelligent, so the jokes weren't completely wasted on us, although sometimes, Mom had to them explain to me (I have Autism, so I didn't get some of them immediately). Otherwise, I understood enough. A lot of them made more sense once I went to college, though. Now, I'm 45, and still laughing at these jokes! Oh, here's one that didn't make the cut: It's from the "Windsor Hassle" episode of Animaniacs, where the Warners have been hired as interior decorators, for Windsor Castle, after it had been damaged by a rather devasting fire, and the Queen kept referring to herself in the third person. Yakko kept referring to her as Sybil, a joke I didn't understand until Mom explained to me. It was also a joke that made more sense after taking Introduction to Psychology, Freshman year of college. Apparently, Sybil had suffered from what we now know as dissociative identity disorder. Whoa! Heavy stuff, for a cartoon! Also, Sweetie Bird was misidentified as Shirley the Loon. Shirley was the blond, duck-like character, with the pink sweater and hairbow, who was based off of Shirley MacLaine.
26:16 that was really subtle. For those that didn't catch that one, no, they don't have claws, they have sharp beaks (their mouths), which were presumably, well that's up to your interpretation
Popular mistake, Epilogue is not a Batman beyond episode! Many people get confused about it but it truly is from the Justice League series and it just takes place in the world of Batman Beyond! Otherwise though amazing list!
Indeed, the best (and most obvious) being Hawkgirl dizzing Flash for being the fastest man alive and that this might be the reason he can't get a date.....
@1:05 Fun Fact: in the rebooted of Tiny Toons Adventures cartoon they kinda retconned that joke as they ACTUALLY did make Babs and Buster as brothers and sisters!
Can you blame Yakko and Wakko for acting the way that they act when they see Hello Nurse? They were trapped in that damn water tower for 60 years!!!! They’re suffering from a 60 year case of “Blue Balls”!!! 🎶😏
11:18 listen I need a group of people to get together and try to bring back freakazoid!!!! They brought back animaniacs on prime exc he's like a hero JOKER 🃏 I love the puns and sarcasm ❤❤ PLEASE BRING IT BACKKKKKKK
The most rediculous thing about that Minerva Mink cartoon, is that they live in a world of anthropomorphic animals who don't wear clothes or are half dressed. She walks past a half a dozen different animals, none of whom are wearing clothes, and they're all swooning over her, yet she is then treated as if she needs to be covered up and would be embarrassed if she wasn't.
1:09 technically, an upskirt shot. . .but then again, Buster isn't even wearing pants. but then again, in the Looney Tunes universe, it seems all clothing is optional. .
What's even more mind bending of the Animaniscs spin off- Pinky And The Brain. Is that it had a spin off of itself. With- Pinky, Elmira, and The Brain.
One of the Animaniacs jokes I never see mentioned is from the Barney parody cartoon. Yakko says something like, "Introduce us to the Princesses of Props. You know-- hellooo, nurse!", Baloney says, "I don't know what you're talking about.", and unsurprised, Yakko says, "There's a shocker." 😀
The "give me the bird" joke dates back at least as the 1942 Looney Toons cartoon "A Tale of Two Kitties". "I'd give him the bird, but the Hayes Commission won't let me."
@26:19. The closest thing a octopus has to claws is its beak " That is its mouth" !!! So the popping sounds after Starfire says the phase could be his lips as he transforms back to human form or the tentacle suckers closest to the middle of the octopus and thus his "Beak" mouth touching against her.... errrr. (O-o)
Animaniacs - Wakko jury-rigs a garage door opener to lift anything. He points it at a woman's skirt. Dot snatches it away, saying, "There'll be none of that."
What gets slipped by is that "Goodnight everybody" and "Hellooooo Nurse" originated in Vaudeville acts in the same way they're used in the show. "Nurse" was always eye-candy and would get that reaction from the guys on stage. This of course reflects the 1930s aspect of the Warner Brothers (and Warner Sister) animation style. Rather meta in-joke.
One of the first watchers for this video! I’ve already rewatched some of these scenes & boy does the understanding make me shocked still 😅 Also that “someone help him” made me laugh 😂
Back in, I think, the 1940's, Warner Bros produced a Tweety cartoon, with two cats, who were, QUITE obviously, Abbott and Costello, attempting to capture Tweety. At one point, Babbett says. "Give me the bird!". The Costello -type cat looks out at the audience, and says "OH, if the Hayes Office would only LET, me I'D give him the boid!"
On the Pinky and the Brain cameo in the Noah's Ark episode, we technically see that NEITHER of them wears the pants, since Pinky is in a dress and The Brain just has a hat...
Cartoons of the 1990s assumed families had one TV and the parents were present, so they often included jokes and references for the parents. Or, if the show portrayed parents, made the parent characters a part of the plot. By contrast, cartoons of the 2000s assumed families had multiple TVs, and the kids watched in their bedrooms or a recroom without the parents. They stopped including jokes for the parents, and sometimes even made fun of parents by portraying parent characters who were ignorant or stupid.
The absolutely best way to end this show..one of my favorite scenes in that show. Everybody gets old, but, the juvenile in them is immortal and remembers...some things. Thumbs up-!..all of them...
All through high school I would look for opportunites to say "I'll blow the waaaaaad". There's not many, tbh. If you use it at the wrong time, it's not good.
I'm impressed you made no reference to Pinky and The Brain and their homage to Frozen Peas. In one part of the homage to Orson Wells, Brain mentions how starting a sentence with "In" before "July" is ridiculous. He them mentions that if someone could prove him wrong he'll "Make Cheese for them". A line that Wells had said in the same situation except Wells didn't say he'd make cheese.
i dont remember animaiacs being so dirty until i watched it again with my kiddo, and caught the finger prince episode. i immediately turned it off. omg! a lot of stuff went over my head as a kid, geez!!! 😭😭
You said the joke flew over your head as a kid. Why that would be any different for your kid? Maybe if they start asking questions, I'd get worried, but if their reaction is like yours back then, they'll be fine.
the thing with yakko, wakko and dot, is they look like "children", but they were created in the 1930's and locked away until the 1990's. they were 60+ years old at the time, so obviously, they would be having some dirty thoughts
@2:45 - "Sire" - This joke didn't read the way it's described here to me. To me it reads as a what-noise-do-you-make-in-the-bedroom joke, as in "Sigh-er".
If you have watched a lot of pinky and the brain, pinkies comments are not Entirely unrelated but actually a hyper condensed observation of the entire plot
