Houston was very nice. A really solid signing by the Knicks. Beautiful jump shot. Thanks for watching the video and thanks for the comment.

Thanks again for another comment. Those Knicks were quite interesting back in the day. I can understand why so many miss them. Thanks again for spending time watching another one of my videos.

Another thing if Knicks won NBA finals in either 94 or 99,it could be a double title won for NY, as Rangers won 94 Stanley Cup and Yankees world series victory in 99 during 3 peat

Thanks for the comment. I haven't seen the 30 for 30, "July 17, 1994", in a long time, but I thought it was a really interesting and very underrated documentary about what was going on in the sports world that day that included the Knicks and Rangers. Because of you, I think I have to take a look at that again soon. But great comment, I enjoyed reading it.

Thanks for the comment. Mason had unique haircuts which were awesome. I remember a segment about them on an episode of NBA Inside Stuff. I like the comment. Enjoy the NBA Playoffs.

I hope you are having a great weekend Emmanuel. Yes, you and a couple others recommended a 90s Knicks video. Thus, I had to do a Knicks 90s video soon: however, I really hope to do a very extensive video about the Knicks in the 90s in the future when I have some time. The Knicks in the '90s was such a fascinating period with so much to say as it would be like a 30-minute video. Thanks again for all of the support. Enjoy the NBA Playoffs.

Adding in allan houston and larry johnson boosted their chances making the finals. Their issue was lack of offense. Those guys helped the knicks in 1999 make the finals while ewing was handling injuries. I think their biggest mistake in 1996 offseason was releasing Derek harper and If it wasn't for those suspensions that happened in the series vs miami they would've had a chance and give the bulls a fight in the conference finals then the heat did.

Thanks for the comment. I enjoyed reading it. Sorry for getting to it late. Even though Johnson wasn't the same explosive player like he was at Charlotte, he became a really good pickup for the Knicks. He played well in the 1998 playoffs against the Heat with Ewing out. Johnson played well but had to serve a two-game suspension with the Mourning altercation. And then of course, the 4-point play. I probably should have talked more about the acquisitions like Johnson, Houston, Sprewell, Childs and Camby. But thanks for the comment as I appreciate the extra info. Enjoy the NBA Playoffs.

Allan Houston's game winner in 1999 was a pivotal moment. If he doesn't make that, and the Heat win, Jeff Van Gundy would have been out, and Phil Jackson would have gone to NY, not the Lakers.

I think that '99 game winner is tattooed in the minds (or brains, whatever is the correct wording) of Knicks fans and perhaps for some Heat fans. That was a great game. But really, JVG would have been out if the Knicks lost. I was not aware of that, thanks for sharing that. Enjoy the rest of the NBA Playoffs.

That Miami - New York series was awesome and then after that, it was something seeing New York make it to the Finals. Although it was the 50-game shortened season, that Knicks postseason was still very interesting. Thanks for watching the video and thanks for the comment.

No spike lee

Thanks for the comment. You are correct; when it comes to the Knicks in the '90s, many people would probably think of Spike Lee. I'm not into the whole celebrity thing, but the Spike Lee-Reggie Miller confrontations were entertaining (along with Pippen talking trash to Spike Lee after he dunked on Ewing). I probably should have mentioned Spike Lee when I talked about the rivalries. Thanks for the comment, I always appreciate what people think should have made my top-5 lists. Thanks again and enjoy the NBA Playoffs.

Lack of scoring
@90sSportsNostalgia

I loved the NBA in the mid-late 90s despite the 70 - 80 point games, but you're correct; compared to today's NBA, a lack of scoring but I love old school NBA. While I'm writing this comment, I saw the T-Wolves scored 151 points. Moreover, I was also watching parts of Game 5 of the 1999 playoffs with Miami and New York and the final score was 78-77. Quite a contrast. Thanks as always for your comments.

Knicks letting Riley go was the ultimate stupid move. As a heat fan since 1988, losing 1 million and a draft pick for almost 30 years of excellence and being a title contender. 8 conference title appearances. 6 finals appearances. 3 titles. Completely worth it. Thanks NY.

Thank Alex D for all of the support. I don't want to get in the middle of Knicks-Heat items as I respect both Heat and Knicks fans a lot, but I would like to say this - Supposedly, Riley wanted more power as Ernie Grunfeld was the Knicks GM at the time, and there were also thoughts that Riley was having enough of being the Knicks coach. But the point I want to say, is that I remember when Riley went to the Heat and my friends and I thought it was hilarious the compensation Miami gave up (as you mentioned) just to get a coach. But in the end, we were wrong and Miami fans like yourself can be laughing at me (but it's all good). I might do a 1991-1992 Miami Heat video in the future. Thanks for the comment. I appreciate all of the support.

@@90sSportsNostalgia not laughing at you. I do have a respect for the 90s knicks. As much as I hated them, I do love watching them. The late 90s Knicks and heat were identical to each other. Just saying that for thr knicks it was a MAJOR screwup to not give riley the power he wanted. It led to almost 30 years of misery for knicks fans. Personally I would like to see the Knicks back as regular contenders like in the 90s. I hated Nebraska in the 90s in college football but id love to see them back to what they were. Hate seeing formerly great teams/programs suffer so much.

Wasnt that in the 1996 off season.
@charismatic9904
@charismatic9904 Год назад
@@tj5180 nope. 1995. It was after the knicks lost to the pacers in the playoffs in the 2nd round. When ewing missed that finger roll. Riley came to Miami and in November 1995 he traded glen rice for Alonzo Mourning in his first big move.
