Hy guys, Please be careful with the Duralast fuel filter #FF696DL ,,,, it have a manufacture defect , the top fuel hose doesn’t sit properly and it will create a gas leak, unless you file down the metal edge that the fuel line is sitting on good luck !!!
i just replaced it and i’m having the issue where gas is leaking from the top whenever i try to turn it in. I’m confused by what you mean by filing down the metal edge
I'm just out right now, once I get home in a few hours I'll take a look at the video to see what you're referring to and see if I can give ya any advice.
@@Trytec96 np. Its the 17mm on top of the filter. I got the bottom 14mm one off without much issue, but the top one would not move. I even used longer bar to get some more torque, but it ended up just bending the top of the fuel filter so its slanted. It ended up bending that "C" shaped bracket the the fuel filter sits in too that's connected to the firewall. Not my intention but I didn't think it would be stuck on so tight. Gosh I feel like such a moron. It looks like I'll have to order a new C bracket now too because I tried test fitting the new fuel filter and it doesn't line up. The fuel filter is free from the bottom and C bracket, but the banjo bolt on top is stuck on. contemplated possibly that I have to replace the whole line that connects to it. Its a short hose from the top banjo, to the fuel feed line on top, then to fuel pressure sensor I have just next to it.
@@Snafu2346 ngl I just impacted it loose after trying to loosen it normally (was starting to bend like in your situation). I just did quick trigger pulls to lessen the chance of ruining the threads. Bolt and filters fine but your case still sounds extreme, might as well try my way.
Hey was having problems with the 14 on the bottom got it loose but as soon as it gets to the point where it should come off it rethreads it self or something so it won’t come off any advice? 😢
Are you referring to the black protective guard cover that spans the entire width of the hood? If so, if I recall correctly as I don't actually own the vehicle anymore, You have to remove both wiper and then its all just plastic clips you remove and the whole piece should come off. It's been a while so don't quote me haha
