“I thought it was starting to build something there and it’s right back into the slow…” That’s pretty much how I felt the first couple times through most of this album. I’m expecting a punch in the mouth but I got a kiss on the cheek. But once I dropped my preconceived expectations I enjoy it a lot more.
Both concerts I have been to (2022 & 2024) they opened with this song that sound piercing through my mind it was an epic opener! Everytime I hear this song a part of me is back at that auditorium.
Good stuff!! Best wishes for a speedy recovery for Dan. Would be cool to see a reaction to Harper Lewis by Russian Circles if you don't already listen to them. Doesn't get better than them for the genre they are in!
Wow. 2019 seems a long time ago now. Had this song on repeat for weeks before the album dropped. It was a grower for sure, but once it got in this song was the best thing I'd heard in years. Tool are my favourite band of all time, probably, but I thought the album was superb for the first half, but then started to meander towards the later.
It'll never get officially acknowledged, but I wish they could fix the static on this album. Most of the songs have a static noise or "click" in them, Tempest being the most noticeable. For this song, you can hear the issue at 7:40 (if you have headphones). I freaking love this album, which is why I wish it was recorded perfectly
speaking of 10-minute Tool songs .... have you happen to have seen the latest Drumeo torture test of Mike Portnoy, where they have him try to learn _Pneuma_ ? 😂
