A square body Silverado pickup with an inline six in it is a very rare site these days. 1984 was the last year for the 4.1 litre inline six. In 1985, a new 4.3 litre V6 was introduced & replaced the 4.1 litre 250 inline six. It's always cool to see a new square body model appear.
I’ve seen quite a few of these over the years. There’s a guy that does a local car show that has a fully loaded 87 Silverado with the v6 and I’ve seen a few 84-86 with the 6 as well. Not as common as 305/350 but as common as the diesel square body. Love the 2 tone brown
In 1985 my Grandfather bought a dark brown longbed custom deluxe. It had a 4.3 v6 with a 4barrell carb and a th375 turbo. Basically a 400turbo with different spline count.
That is a Odd Duck for sure! All those Options and a 6 cylinder with A/C! I like it too! I hope that it is not too hard to get up on it's feet again buddy! Thanks for the video!
Below eye line was the mirror style. I had an 86 custom deluxe short bed with the 4.3 v6 and three on the tree standard. It came with factory high rise intake and 4 bbl and tube style exhaust manifolds, and 3.42 gears. It was a real peppy little truck, gave a lot of v8's a run for their money back in the day. I noticed that it doesn't have the wrap around trim on the back of the cab which it should have had with all the other trim options
Good to know on the mirror and honestly, I didn’t even pay attention to the trim around the back window but you’re right. PIBs truck look pie didn’t have it either I don’t believe
I bought new as a pre 16 yr old that watched brothers deal with dad and cars… had 5500 saved from mowing yards for few yrs…. He loaned me the rest…. This is a true story… She’ll Oil ordered 2400 SWB Silverados for employees in Argentina… after being shipped , Shell realized GM forgot to equip all with dual tanks needed to be compatible with long distance capability as fuel stops only in certain places … they cancelled order , all shipped back to US and filtered out to dealerships whom deemed worthy to get… my dad steered me to it cause he knew it wouldn’t be fast … 8295$ new with few miles , bit of body damage from bad drivers at shipping point …. I have maybe the most extreme unicorn …. Always watch bone yard videos etc to try to lay my eyes on another of the 2399 that ended up ??? Who knows where
I think they only made 7500 of those trucks was 6 cylind 84. I have a long bed moonpie. That looks just like the truck. That was on the fall guy back in Early eighties
Red and silver two tone a lot like the moon pies, but red middle, silver top and lower foot around … all 2400 were two tones in the order , all different combos
@@KevinRichards-my5oj But Bryan's 4.1 is a V, not an inline. Guess that's why it threw me. I've heard of 194/230/250 inline 6s for many years. Just hadn't heard 4.1 in relation to a V6 before. Always thought they were 4.3s. But I learnt me something with this here video.
