We have a truck just like this except its a K20 and a 6.2 Diesel w/ dual tanks. I'm talking same paint job and trim. Its got 345k miles and its on its second motor with 100k. Been sitting since 2010~11. Sweet to another ol square gettin going again.
That Chevy Van looks so much better! I remember seeing that Van at the Drive-in and I told Tim about it. The Drive-in original owners had sold out to someone else and the owners were wanting to sell the Van. I'm so glad that you saved it. It looks so cool! Be a great parts hauler. Penetrol will make a huge difference in the appearance of it! Great job buddy! Thanks for the video!
Ole girl does have a lot of potential. Dress her up some, maybe a different rear bumper? A rolling storage box is a good idea, depending on the cost to put her on the road would be the leading factor for me………up here on Michigan it’s very expensive with insurance and even the cost of a license plate.
I recall seeing this in one of Jimmy's videos at Tim's several months back and commented that stripe package was awesome. A 3-on-the-tree really does make it a hoot. Clean it up, freshen up the stock drivetrain, maybe straighten out the front end damage within reason, put some healthy meats on the stock steelies with some dog dishes and use it as your parts hauler. 👍
You and your Dad done a great job on this truck! Sounds great! Another great job by GM TIM38! Great video! Thanks buddy for taking the time to make a video for me!
Great vehicle, great engines. Every 100K miles you can adjust those hydraulic lifters, does wonders to quiet it down. Automatic transmissions and rust are the weak links. Minivans only get 16 mpg, and are expensive. Few less mpg is still money ahead of a new car note. I would choose a van over a pick up every time. Good luck brother!
That sure is a cool van! I remember that van too! I hope that you will keep it and use it for your purposes. Just a cool van! Thanks for the video buddy!
Great video buddy! I hate you've had so much trouble with that truck. But it sure is a good looking truck! Thanks for taking the time to make a video! We sure did enjoy seeing it!
LOL, buy a drink and the truck sitting there running. Mine was dieseling today, walked in the house to grab a knife and the damn thing was still running. I had to adjust my idle curb screw, it was too high. Great info Tim!!
Been driving this summer up until mid-june with no air conditioning thinking I had to replace the blend door actuator tried this and it fixed everything on my 07 Silverado classic I appreciate it thank you
Below eye line was the mirror style. I had an 86 custom deluxe short bed with the 4.3 v6 and three on the tree standard. It came with factory high rise intake and 4 bbl and tube style exhaust manifolds, and 3.42 gears. It was a real peppy little truck, gave a lot of v8's a run for their money back in the day. I noticed that it doesn't have the wrap around trim on the back of the cab which it should have had with all the other trim options
Good to know on the mirror and honestly, I didn’t even pay attention to the trim around the back window but you’re right. PIBs truck look pie didn’t have it either I don’t believe
I bought new as a pre 16 yr old that watched brothers deal with dad and cars… had 5500 saved from mowing yards for few yrs…. He loaned me the rest…. This is a true story… She’ll Oil ordered 2400 SWB Silverados for employees in Argentina… after being shipped , Shell realized GM forgot to equip all with dual tanks needed to be compatible with long distance capability as fuel stops only in certain places … they cancelled order , all shipped back to US and filtered out to dealerships whom deemed worthy to get… my dad steered me to it cause he knew it wouldn’t be fast … 8295$ new with few miles , bit of body damage from bad drivers at shipping point …. I have maybe the most extreme unicorn …. Always watch bone yard videos etc to try to lay my eyes on another of the 2399 that ended up ??? Who knows where
