Question please, Dell: Do you wait for the background to dry before you put in the sea oats? I see your hand is resting on the painting. So, essentially, this has to be done in stages, right? Wonderful tuition, Dell; thanks for the advice. Could you please tell me: what is the make of your long-haired script brush that you use to paint the fine sea oat stems with, as I would like to buy one? Thanks.
Alan, sorry it took me so long to respond but I was out of town and had to wait until I returned to get that info. The brushes that I use are the Princeton Extra long liner number 3050 XL and Robert Simmons #0 and #1. The long liner is good for extended sea oats and the Simmons for shorter, thicker strokes. Good morning, Dell. I am an Englishman living in Sweden. Thanks to your kind advice I have ordered the Princeton brush from Amazon. I have come back to art after retiring but I find that one can never be too old to learn. Keep up the excellent work and I shall keep watching.
