Been working on this video for like 24 hours straight omg, gonna go relax now. I forgot to mention at 11:05 - when you finally install the SSD in the case connect the SATA data port to the motherboard. It's the L shaped port on the bottom right side of the mobo. Ok that's it, enjoy the vid guys

For a new parts build this is probably the best value build ive seen. Its a very powerful pc without spending a dime more than necessary. Honestly this is the cheapest “new” build I would go with. Saving a small amount of money off this machine will drastically reduce performance. Better off following his guides to fix up a used optiplex i5 or i7.... for $200 can put together a decent machine that play well at 1080p with a used rx570. For me either go $200 or $500.... nothing in between makes sense
@adammesic
@adammesic 4 года назад
@@evers6214 A pretty decent machine can be built, agreed! An i5 or i7 of 2xxxx or/and 3xxx generation, with some board that supports 16 GB of ddr3 and a 1060, 470, 480, 570 or 580 graphic card with some cheap LC power supply could pretty much coup up to this built. But that was not the point of this video. The stress was on "new components". And to be honest, nothing can coupe with Ryzen 5 nowadays (especially when talking about price/performance). Anyhow, good choose of components and a very fine job! Cheers Oz!

I'm more the prebuilt modder guy. I get phased out Fujitsu, Lenovo and HP server desktops from work every year. That makes for extremely cheap "pop a 100$ GPU in" PCs.

I think I'm going a little bit too big for my first PC build, gonna have a gtx 1660 ti and R5 3600. Along with that, 750 watt 80 plus certified PSU, 2 tb HDD, 240gb ssd, 16gb ram, and a very good amd board that I have to go back to Newegg to remember the name of, (I think it might be some kind of b450 board) and yes the board supports the parts with enough wattage for everything requiring power through the Mobo, AM4 socket, and ddr4 dimm slots.
@fosfam1743
@fosfam1743 4 года назад

This was one of the best PC building tutorials I have seen. A lot of guys doing the tutorials, are so used to building PCs, and dealing with other people that are used to building PCs, that they overlook certain details in their tutorials, which they assume is common sense. This video, covered, a lot of those details and as a result, is very beginner friendly. I have been building PCs for 20 years, and I very much appreciate the effort that went into this video.

Excellent build! My opinion though I would go 16gb to start. I ran my ryzen r5-1600 for a year with 8gb before I got two more chips for 16.. there was a noticeable improvement in smooth operation for demanding games and windows. This is only going to get more noticeable as programs get bigger and more RAM hungry. Seems like an easy upgrade but honestly its worth the $30 get it done now so you can fully enjoy your beautiful new machine straight away.

The Deep Cool Matrixx 55 case isn't much more and offers plenty of room and upgrade. If you need wi-fi, I would look for a motherboard with wi-fi/BT built into it. Most of the time it will be cheaper. If you get it separate, then (depending on your motherboard) you might find that your GPU often prevents installation of anything into the PCI-E x1 slot. Also, if your case and budget has room I highly suggest buying fans for your case. You can always get RGB later, so you can just get a 3 pack of whichever ones you can afford. Better cooled CPU and GPU means better performance and cooler temps (obviously). Just my suggestion. Oh, and great vid @OzTalksHW!

Great guide dude. Only changes I'd recommend would be to shell for an SSD with DRAM cache, the difference is noticeable on random reads / writes. Also, should note that the 1650 / 1660 use the older encoder, not the updated Turing encoder so the the 5500XT might be preferable for streaming.

Just put together perhaps the best deal ever. Months ago I'd purchased a computer tower by ibuypower at a thrift store for 5 dollars. Brought it home and it was missing the hard drive but had an AMD fx 6300 cpu, a Gigabyte G-78LMT-USB3 motherboard, an R7 360 gpu that wasn't posting, a crappy 400W PSU and one stick of 8 gb ddr 3 adata ram. It was sitting in the corner of my room up until yesterday when I was bored and decided to get mess around with it since I recently upgraded my GPU and PSU, so I had an RX 580 and a 450W PSU laying around that I could play with, so I decided to give it a shot. I repasted the FX6300, did some desperately needed cable management, installed the XFX RX 580, replaced the old 400W PSU with my newer Bronze EVGA 450W, removed the 8 gig of Apdata ram stick that was in it and put in 2 8gb sticks of PNY Anarchy ddr3 sticks I had had for years stashed in dc mode, a 240gb ssd I had laying around and installed windows 10 on it. After installing all the drivers and upgrading Windows I was really surprised to be getting 60 - 80 fps in Dirt 2.0 high settings @ 1080 and 110 - 135 fps in Doom (2016) high settings @ 1080 Vulkan api which is the only 2 games that I've installed so far. There isn't much room left in the 240ssd for anything else. I'll be putting in a second drive for data. Since I already had the extra parts laying around this whole thing only cost me 5 bucks and time to put together a decent gaming PC, which I'll be giving to my younger brother to use. It was a fun little project to put together. I'm glad to put to use hardware that would otherwise be sitting around, especially when the family benefits from it. The cpu fan does get a bit loud when running at full speed so I'll be replacing that at some point, along with the two case fans.

I have the b450-a CSM, it’s a pretty nice board. I have it paired with a 2200g, 16gb of DDR4-2666, and an RX 570. It also has a Wraith Prism cooler.

Just as a heads up you can route the cpu power cable behind the motherboard over the top, you just have to plug it in first. Also there is room for three fans in the case in a slightly unorthodox configuration with one behind the front panel incase someone wants to buy a cheap three pack. I would also recommend a few cable extensions or a splitter so you can use pwm on all of them. I used a Asrock B450M/AC since I use wifi and my gpu was too large to accommodate a network card. There are also some real cheap m.2 drives that are good options such as my munchkin helix 250gb nvme m.2. I am so glad I picked up my $150 2700x and $58 2x8 3200 cas 16 team rgb ram viva la deals. BTW don't panic if your gpu is too long, you can drill out the drive cage if necessary. Also you will never fit a blue ray player in the case with a mATX motherboard get a itx or get a external drive. Still it's a great case when I got it for $25, well worth the trouble I had with cable management.

Oz, there is a US company on eBay selling RX 570 and RX 580 cards with a broken or missing fan (out of two fans) for as low as 70$ ,,, one could easily remove the plastic shroud and place a 92-120mm fan on a video card with zip ties or whatever and they have a decent video card. As for NEW video cards, RX 570 cards are 120$ in lots of places ... if the budget is tight, this would leave room for 16 gb of memory, going with 2x4gb sticks is kinda bad especially if board has only 2 slots. I'd always recommend going with motherboards that at least have some heatsinks on the VRM (the dc-dc converter between io shield and cpu socket which powers the processor, for those that aren't familiar with the term), because more powerful and more power hungry processors could overheat that circuit if it's not covered with heatsinks. Basically, a few dollars more gives you more upgrade options for the future.

I would not use the Thermaltake White psus. Even though I haven’t used it before, a friend of mine used it in his build. Didn’t take too long for it to malfunction.

I like these kinds of videos because I like PC hardware and benchmarks but I know how to build a PC. Im not saying don't include the build tutorial but I am saying maybe adding time stamps in the description isn't a bad idea.

Great video! I'm going through budget build videos because in looking to upgrade some parts due to some games on my current rig being... less than stellar... current rig includes a gtx 970, ryzen 3 1200 and 8 gigs of ram. Most likely upgrading to a GTX 1650 but in the fence about the processor...
