Early next year i plan to expand my rural Japan cafe to include rescuing stray cats in my area to turn it into a unique Cat Cafe. Any help is very much appreciated.

The simplicity of the irrigation system is amazing. I’d love a place with some trees or hills to make my own mountain bike trails.

Thanks for sharing your daily slice of life. I have a world of respect for any tuber who can fight tbe urge to put his mug in every frame. You never have to ask an Aussie to tell you what he really thinks it seems that Japanese are the polar opposite....

Can you do one on the wildlife? Seen the anime cicada and tanuki, koi swimming in the water ways, the shop cats, but what else is there? Anything you have to watch out for, like bears and snakes? Guessing its nothing like Oz where its all upside-down, trying to kill you 24/7. The Japanese wildlife must be more reserved and polite, having a meeting before rolling into town.

Monkeys, bears, tanuki, snakes etc here. I include these occasionally in my videos so watch out for them. I actually got some footage of a very rare moth last night and will chuck it in there somewhere.

If u spoke to ur neighbour and said “hey tatsuzo, I’ll be using the beeba next saturday, would u like me to trim the edges?” Would he say “yes go ahead” or would u not even ask as it would be considered rude/impolite? Regards markc

If he is old guy who struggles i would but someone who is fit and does it anyway that would be rude IMO.

Wild. It's also neighborly in America to trim up part of your neighbors lawn if you're already out there taking care of your own. Nice insight!

Just found your channel. As a farmboy from a small farm in Canada back in the '80s and who stayed in Japan for a few months, your life there is quite interesting and pretty different than other channels on RU-vid regarding 'life in Japan'. Have you or the locals noticed anything whatsoever yet regarding climate change impacts? Looking forward to watching the rest of the farming season.

They talk about the weather a lot that is just what they do here. They are all amateur meteorologists predicting how much snow this year yada yada. Maybe in a roundabout way they do i suppose.

If I remember correctly, for a 2-stroke motor, you use a fuel mix rather than straight gasoline. Nowadays, all the garden tools are electric.

Try clearing 2 acres with a battery type not gonna happen.

Looks like a lovely area! I can’t believe you cut all those fields with a string trimmer! I would’ve definitely had a steel blade on 😊 Down here in Miyazaki we just say kusakari…. Hadn’t heard beeba before but I like it!

A lot of Onomatopoeia where i live they even call a microwaving Chinsuru. Chin Chin they reckon is the sound it makes when its finished. Sounds more like a Ding Ding to me. In a lot of Aussie kitchens we call microwaves juke boxes so we are a bit odd too!

@@RealRuralJapan down here we call the sea lice chinqui. Chin chin kayui! Hope to try your calzones next time I’m in Nagano 🙏

Hmm, do you reckon that beeba is from "beaver"? Like as in the critter that's always cutting things down?

I was curious about that too. It seems to be slang. Bic Camera and the like sell them as 草刈り機 "kusakariki".

Do locals use cover crops? I read that winter cereals used to be grown but that imports were insanely cheaper, so most farmers just leave the fields fallow all winter.

I am in an apple and fruit growing area mainly and they do keep the grass long in summer to cool the ground down.

Would you be able to bend the rules on the yard work times if you were using a battery powered trimmer? I'm assuming noise is the issue.

Ask the people where you live but those battery things hum like a swarm of bees.

Ground is not flat it would bottom out too much. Most of the area to cut around rice fields are hilly, steep and finicky.
