I have been metal detecting for 20 years and still haven't found a gold ring. Awesome!!! My best find was a 3 ounce silver ingot. :)

Cartwheel pennies weighed one ounce and the 2d weighed 2 ounces of copper. As there were 240 pennies in a pound you'd need big muscles to carry loose change. The gold ring is a great find. Well done mate.

What an enjoyable video Kris, its amazing what you can find in a couple of hours one day yet take weeks to find the same things again. The gold ring is a beauty and the cartwheel is in great condition as is the humble thimble. I think thats a racehorse and jockey. Great video thank you for taking us along with you. At 4:18, the coin that turned out to be a modern 5p... You can see that the monarch is facing to the right. I don't know if this is common knowledge or not but each new monarch faces the opposite direction from their predecessor. So Queen Victoria coins always face left and Queen Elizabeth II always faces right. It really helps to identify and age badly worn coins as the monarchs image is typically the last to wear completely. Love your videos and just your general chirpy outlook on life, can't wait for the next :)

It "PINGed" not because it's a gold but because its ring shaped. Rings give off strong electromagnetic signal

Excellent Kris... I know what your talking about with the 'c.scope ping' I use the cs4mxi and once you get to know these machines you can really tell what the target might be, it's strange but you have to use one to understand.... excellent gold ring 👍

I think you should make something out of that "dentist tool" be it a blade or a "trowel" or just art. I wouldn't be able to walk away from a shape like that and not want to at least clean it if not put it in a forge and bang on it for a while. My brain says farm equipment, but id turn it back into something functional if I was you!

If you look to the left of the hallmark on the ring there should be a mark indicating the date the ring was lost. HH and best wishes.

Hi, I've never metal detected in my life so I have no idea about how you go on but I'm curious as to what happens to the items you've found? Do you split this with the land owner and if so what's your procedure do you get it valued sell it and drop him cash off there seems to be a lot of trust between land owner and detectorist.
