When the last Polaroid factory closed down in 2008, we stepped in to rescue their machines. After two years of research and development we released our first generation of instant film for the iconic white frame format, saving 200 million Polaroid instant cameras from becoming obsolete. Today we make a variety of second generation films for different Polaroid camera types including SX-70, 600 and Spectra cameras.

Guys we have to accept the prices. I mean, would you rather not have an option to take photos with your polaroids?Thanks to them we can still make photos! (We can all save some money and take photos in those reaaaally special moments).

is they make it 10 instead of 8 It would be kinda cool

A testament to the #impossibleproject: A relative who lived on the beach of the gulf coast during Katrina lost her home and most all of her family photos. Her daughter had taken a few of them off to university for a project- so thankfully all was not lost. Even better: for several years after Katrina Polaroids from her family albums would be discovered on beach- which she learned from encounters with near strangers from her community when they would hold found photographs to her face and ask “is this you and your family?” Any photo media that could ensure the wrath of Katrina is worthy of such research and dedication.

Came here for some knowledge about the original Polaroid Instant Camera since I was bombed with ads of the newest digital version. Well I am sorry but I DO NOT like that concept the least bit, especially when I head out in space to search for answers about the ORIGINAL POLAROID INSTANT CAMERA and all I see is the new digital ones. BUT I did not give up, I found this video and OH MY OH MY OH MY. What an incredible found. I recognize the absolute superb work done with this video. The editing is fantastic, the choice of music, the wide array of old, amazing footage, the humor, the filming AND OF COURSE. The Narrating was just pure gold. Honestly made my whole day. Absolutely fantastic. Standing ovations for all of you. Thank you!

its a shame that the cartridges are not recycled, if "impossible project" could create a cartridge that could be reused indefinitely by reloading it by usb, and by inserting new films, it would make the photos cheaper to buy and so much more ecological!
@volka2199
@volka2199 5 лет назад
Pierre Oleksiej In addition if they dont do this already which is pretty likely they should accept used film cartridges to recycle them and potentially give discounts to those that do it as an incentive.

I love all of this, but why do the films have to be so goddamn expensive? 20 bucks for 8 pictures? Come on!
@koekje00005
@koekje00005 8 лет назад
Because the components they use aren't cheap. + There isn't a large (mainstream) demand, so in order to stay in buisness, they need to ask high prices. I know it sucks, but instant film is too precious to give up.

so freaking happy that the impossible project decided to exist in this era that it seems like 95 percent of the time you take photos using you phones and cant really hold or touch or keep the pictures itself and pile them in your photo albums or scrapbooks or whatever.. so thank you the impossible project for restoring instant camera i appreciate you guys and i love you guys.. will buy the instant 600 camera soon ❤❤❤❤

I love how the impossible project is a serious company, with possibly the wittiest humour, and mantra I've ever seen, packed intro their marketing. ❤ Trying to get hold of one of your camera's, I'm running a project that uses my garments to sew instant film on , I can't wait to get using your products. I would like to buy all of your camera's one day and get well aquatinted with the how to's and the ins and outs of the cameras and film 🐙

I'm thankful that Impossible picked up the beloved and nostalgic classic polaroid film, but I hate to admit that they don't seem to have any integrity anymore. Their original path to recreate THE polaroid film has since been lost. Now they focus on funky frames and filters in place of spreading the developing chemicals evenly or providing consistent shots or a real instant film. Now they market to hipsters, not artists, and profit largely off of unnecessary accessories and the like. We want impossible back. We want the polaroid. I wouldn't mind paying so much for a pack of film if I knew that I was supporting the development of the film and the company's advancement. We didn't ask for circle frames or neon borders, but what we wanted dissipated when the project, now a company, found out how hipsters will sell their cells to be unique. Instant film was an art, now it is all but a trend.

There is a way to make 10 polaroids fit in the cartridge Ive found that making the cartridge a few millimeters larger would store 1 more polaroid and reducing the size of the battery would allow for the original 10 polaroids in the cartridge Polaroid 600 cartridges use 6v batteries but the new ceramic style batteries are almost paper thin and could be worked into the cartridge to have extra frames

I love this, only it's a bit pricey. I'm hoping one day you guys can lower the price or make twin packs like fujifilm does. They sell 2 packs of 10 for 13 to 17 bucks instead of 16 film for 46 bucks... 😒. I got a bunch of polaroids cams. I have the sx70 sonar, spectra , 600 one steps, I bought for 5 bucks and others that I got for 10. I also have two peel apart film cameras. Maybe you guys can bring those back too

Finally got some outdated Impossible film to try out a solid SX-70 Alpha I got at a garage sale for $5. Test shots show what an Impossible CSR identified as a flare baffle stuck to the camera mirror and showing up as a black bar along the bottom of the picture. The camera is otherwise working fine, apparently. Any suggestions where I can get this antique repaired?
