I got my instructorship in Jeet Kune Do. I also got black belt level in Krav Maga. It was basically the same thing except JKD did a bit more trapping mixed with some Filipino knife 🔪 fighting.

In my first week I had the hottest instructor ( she was only 5.4 125lb ) and kicked my $$$ until I had enough as I couldn’t sleep at night from being so sore 😂… 4 years in the IDF and then joined airborne rangers 75 regiment to coach ( combat to combat)…after RASP - Gold war I thought I would joined In training for our ladies in combat 😢… instead I got shoot in the butt and my nickname was Forrest Gump 🎁

@@thestoryteller9327 For knife attack there's literally nothing you can do other than running. Any course that will advertise itself as something that will make you able to defend yourself against knife attacks, is completely bulshit and a fraud. If you don't believe just look up USDC knife attack on yt: there's no way to protect yourself against a knife period, nobody has ever proven the opposite. The same goes for multiple attackers. Against muggers and thugs in general i'd suggest a grappling art. You would be better off knowing some striking surely, but being able to gently bring someone to the ground against their will and then safely control them until help arrives, or put them to sleep with a choke, is to me much more useful and legally safe than being able to kill someone with a punch. I say striking is still a good thing to learn because you'd probably need to be able to eat strikes and to defend against them just in case someone really good at not being grabbed tries to attack you. Even in that case, it would be just a matter of time before grabbing them a taking them down, but during that time you'd need to be able to eat and defend against punches. Specifically, the three staples of grappling are BJJ, for ground fighting it's absolutely the best, but usually not good at stand up fighting, Judo, very good on the stand up incomplete while it usually have basic ground fighting, and freestyle wrestling, which has the best stand up fighting and pretty bad ground fighting. Depending on where you live Judo and wrestling could be hard to find, while BJJ is now pretty much everywhere. Also important to note that wrestling has several styles: the most complete is catch wrestling, and that would be better than both judo and BJJ, the other popular one is greco/roman wrestling, which is still very good, but i view it as a less effective and less complete judo. The only wrestling style that has good ground work anyway is catch, but it's incredibly rare. For striking i would suggest only muay thai (also called thai boxing), which is the best striking style whithout a question, and also has very little striking incorporated.
