September 23, 2001: New England starting quarterback Drew Bledsoe suffers a severe chest injury against the New York Jets after being hit by Mo Lewis. Tom Brady relieves Blesoe and takes control of the starting job, even when Bledsoe is healthy later in the season. The Patriots go on to shock the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI, and launch their dynasty.
