I think this pi would overheat being enclosed in the arcade stick casing and having no ventilation.

I've still been using my Hori Mini Fightstick 3 that I bought back when I lived in Japan. Honestly? Feels good still. I'm not a fan of holding my hand OVER the stick, and my hand can both cover the side of the stick AND clutch the ball with no issue, while my other hand can rest over the buttons themself, so it feels pretty good for me. I'm not really a fan of fight sticks in general, always preferred controllers, just because most fighting game motions, when I try them with the stick, just feels wrong. But being able to hold the side OF the stick while I play on it feels like a nice happy medium. BUT! That's just a personal preference. I'd say buttons could always be nicer, and the stick feels a little TOO stiff, but otherwise, it's been a fantastic stick for me to use. It was meant for PS3, but I've used it for PS4 and my PC, and it's been great so far.

Thanks for this this vid and so many others. I got rid of my dualshock 4 controllers & almost all my Dualshock 3 as I do not really care for many batteries in my life so instead I ordered the ps4 Hori controller. I grew up in arcades too so I am always looking for stick reviews.

I would install a sanwa JLF lever, an eight-way restrictor gate and a bat-top into the Hori Fighting Stick Mini. There is a video on RU-vid that shows you how to install a sanwa JLF lever into a Hori Fighting Stick Mini.

My old hori fight stick had a switch for ps3, 4, and pc mode, I can't imagine they wouldn't just have the new one have a switch for all consoles for any reason other than to get you to buy another

I've been using my Mini PS4 Hori forever. Love how close the buttons are because I can literally rest my fingers on them like a keyboard. Lol Great cheap stick

If any of you want a mini stick buy the f300 or the sfv alpha from madcatz. If you have more money get the f500. Both are heavily customizable and even with stock parts are decent. You cant fit HAPP parts due to the size.

Man I will love this exclusive for Switch (Maybe my PC and Android Tablet) because my lunch hours are... Kinda long lol, so playing a bit for fun? Looks good! But at the same time, the Madcatz Alpha looks like a better deal, the bad deal is it's ONLY for PS3/4 and I will need the adapter, so that ups the price a bit. Still, going to take this as a consideration, seems like a good tabletop "for fun" Stick. Regards!!

I was able to plug and play with the play station classic with retro arch and Belem sync installed. It detected as a controller immediately and was able to navigate through the menus. Minor button mapping for certain games will probably be needed. Just opened it on contra III for snes and then tekken 3 for PlayStation. I bought the fight stick to give a more arcade feel for rhythm games (specifically project diva which comes out next month on switch) without shelling out hundreds for the actual arcade controller. I’ve been using it to play taiko for switch and it feels tons better to play open palmed like you would at an arcade rather than holding a controller.

It may be possible to install a Seimitsu LS-33 in there. 4:18 I disagree, there are othe things to look after, the main housing material and shape of the hole where the pivot goes, there's the height of the stick, size of the actuator, thickness of the gate, microswitches are in fact one of the less important components to look after when choosing the right arcade stick, but that's just my opinion.

I lucked into a slightly used PS4 one at a local game shop, I'd had an even cheaper one that was for PC/PS2 but it broke in such a way my only option was getting a whole new stick... but so far I've been really liking it! (only have a PC at the moment but it works just fine on there for like MAME and other emulators and stuff) debating if I want a switch joystick or if I want to just get an adapter for my PS4 one but since I have street fighter 30th on switch and beat-em-up bundle, one of these would be perfect!

Thats like picking a favorite child lol. Ive been a fan of Rammstein for over 20 years. Seen them live 6 times. Own all their albums including all the unreleased stuff and singles. Its really dependent upon mood lol. But im definitely more partial to the first 2 albums... Just couldnt pick a favorite song.. Too difficult haha

The 8Bitdo stick is more suited to my needs tbh. I ended up replacing the stick and buttons on it. One thing this does have though is that ABXY are lined up the same way they are on an actual Nintendo controller. I had to rewire the ABXY on the 8Bitdo stick to match the controllers, and now it’s mislabeled. lol

Yes.. Damnit thats one thing I was gonna talk about and forgot lol... Button placement. I hate when abxy is flipped but then I also wish L and R were lined up differently.

Exactly. Most games' controls are set up specifically for the Nintendo style ABXY layout, so changing them makes it confusing. Not sure if too many games have a way to change the control scheme, since I usually don't have to, but I figured it would just be easier to change the wiring while I was in there, rather than try to change every games control scheme.

I tried the Hori PS4 version a while back and didnt like it, returning it and bought a Mayflash F300 which I then upgraded all the parts with a 8 way stick and new buttons all with sanwa arcade parts.

Hey Mad always love the showcase of New Arcade sticks,you know new possibilities. I have The Super Retrocade and enjoy playing the Mayflash Universal Adapter MF001 fighting stick on it but was wondering if there any other options out there so I could get a new one, I herd the Elite May flash is good,but only so many Arcade sticks work on Retrocade?

Funny your reviewing these. I am in the middle of modding a old 2 player PS1 fight stick called blaze. Sanwa buttons are larger but using a werlybird it is no problem getting holes to fit.sanwa sticks. Raspberry Pi 3b + inside. 2 zero delays. Waiting on the recall box you just showed to download. 2 wires will be coming out of case. Power and HDMI. My PS1 looked just like your PS4 before I cut it all out.

I got the Hayabusa for Switch and it drives me crazy because the stick doesn't always register correctly with NeoGeo games. On Fatal Fury and King of Fighters, I havd trouble doing moves that I can easily do on the pro controller and on Shock Troopers, I always end up shooting and rolling the wrong way.

@@esprithk There was no update. The problem is that NEOGEO games were designed for Seimitsu levers. I got an LS-62 and now everything works great.

Have you tried using it on Bleemsync 1.1? My Dualshocks now work on the UI so maybe the arcade stick will work on it.

If i get this, will it make Street fighter 30th anniversary playable? It's virtually impossible to play the game with a controller sadly. Cant pull off any moves. Even after flawlessly doing the exact inputs. Also it makes any of the solo arcade unplayable sadly. So delayed and instant death. No if and or but... so does paying for one make the game playable and work? Since you can't get by with controller. I hope the newer games have modern controls. Because i also want Street fight 6. But hope this would not be a waste to buy. It is impossible to play. So wanting to know what i should get. Thank you.

I’m sure it’s something I’m doing wrong but... I tried using this with Burgertime Party and the joystick moves around on the menu screen and you can press the A button to select things but during the actual game, for some reason it’s not letting my character move at all with the joystick. The A button still shoots pepper but the joystick doesn’t seem to work in the actual game. Only the menu. Anyone got any thoughts on what I should try? Is it just one of those games it won’t work on? Is there a setting I haven’t tried? Weird that the joystick works on the menu screens but not the actual gameplay. So confused!

I'm more comfortable to using a smaller fighting stick because my hands are at a moderate size and I don't want the fighting stick to have so much surface area when I put it on my lap. Overall, I don't mind having a bigger fighting stick but I just prefer the smaller ones. I don't use a Hori mini though btw.

Entry level... I guess it could be considered that. But I feel like its more of a novelty in the sense of its size. Id go more for the 8bitdo arcade stick as a decent entry level stick.
