The style is klapa, Dalmation folk polyphony which has become smoother in the last decades. A group of men (4-8 or more) sing throughout the summer, in the Vestibule to the Emperor Dioletian's apartments, now a round tower open to the sky - fabulous acoustic.
The acoustics where they are, is in the Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Emperor Diocletian had more Christians put to the slaughter in the Roman Coleseum, than any other Roman ruler. They we killed for their Faith in Jesus Christ. The persecution began to spread just after Jesus was Crucified, and Roman Catholicism began to spread throughout Rome and her Empire. The Roman Catholic Faith was built on the blood of these Saints. No other Faith is built on the shedding of their blood, except Catholcism.
I'm regretting not buying the CD when I heard these men sing in Trogir, Croatia last month. Their strong clear harmonies were so breathtaking that I found tears streaming down my face. So, how can I buy the CD?
