A Challenging Day of Winter Sun Street Photography with the Fujifilm X-H2S

I knew it was going to be cold when I went out to create these photos, but I forgot how very, very cold it gets in the shadows of skyscrapers. I also forgot that since it was Martin Luther King Junior day in the U.S., there would not be many people out and about on this day. Even the construction sites were shut down.
So, a change of plan was in order… I decided to take advantage of the low angle of the winter sun to seek photos featuring the interaction of light and shadows.

I like the darker shadows in this pictures. It makes a soft contrast in a way but it also make some of the colours pop. Like the blue sky.

I like how you worked with what you had. I feel like I always set an expectation when going out to do some street shoots and that may not be the best mindset. I like that you shared how you adapted to not only the cold but it being MLK day and less people being out. Loved the shots you got the shadows were nice and dramatic!

Hello! Thanks so much for your kind words and appreciate the subscription. Regarding editing the photos, I cover my basic edit approach here (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--qym5I-lv4E.html) and these are that basic edit style with about -50 black, and no tone curve adjustments. Hope that makes sense ;)

Good to see you Michael, very nice captures. Unfortunately I’m no help to you when it comes to comparing video and/or audio quality to anything that you've done previously, I’m only focused on the content presented and needless to say, I really enjoy your videos, the ideas and the inspiration, your “stuff” always gives me food for thought.
