Things We Love About Eve: 1. She is open and raw with her emotion 2. She is honest 3. She does pretend to be someone she is not 4. She has a massive and giving heart 5. She is bright but modest and self-reflective 6. Even when she is struggling, she shows kindness and compassion to others as well (a beautiful trait not often found) 7. it annoys me sm you get hate because you’re just a normal uni student, trying to do a year abroad, missing your friends but just because you have a channel it’s like you have to think about everything you do. We just go about our lives and if someone says something that upsets us, it’s kind of a shock but on top of that you almost have to wait for hate or expect it and it’s not fair. Hats off to you, you’re doing so well x

I'm an Italian student who studies English and German linguistics and I feel you on a spiritual level when you talk about being ambitious, wanting a great career for yourself but at the same time not wanting to become a girl boss or a Ceo. My idea of success might not be the same of my friends who study law, science or economics but I do believe that it deserves the same respect from society in general. Feminism has put a stigma on human studies, shaping our minds and leading us to believe that women should try to do STEM to be up to the modern society expectations. I really think that it is a pity and that instead of uplifting girls it creates more feuds and division. Thank you for your insight, it really made me feel seen and understood! I really look up to you and I value your point of view on these subjects.

Alys Kalies What you were saying about shame for kind of wanting a quiet life is so so true! When I was growing up I always wanted to be an independent successful career woman and move to London, but I’ve realised in the past year or so that that isn’t what I actually want, but just what I felt I should want. I realised What will actually make me happiest is to stay in Wales and have a nice house, a job I actually enjoy and financial stability, as unexciting as that sounds :)

Hey Eve:) That First assumption was from me and I was actually so shocked when you read it out 😂 I just wanted to clarify (since the question tool allows you an insanely small amount of words) that I sent this assumption because after consuming years and years of studytube I’ve actually become more critical of it in the last year. obviously no one forces me to watch studytube videos it’s just that I feel this kind of “busy student and stressed but still thriving” stereotype is actually also present off RU-vid, so it’s hard to escape from it.I only realized that, however, after watching your videos in which you opened up about first year and thereafter etc. So, I guess this was actually more a hidden compliment kinda question 😊

Love you Eve! I got completely what you were saying when you said about comments and self-deprecation. I didn't necessarily get a lot online but I used to get hassle at school about how I looked, i.e., my height (I'm 6ft), my facial structure etc and years later, it's made it that bit harder to believe people when they give me compliments on those exact same things. This is something I'm working through though but you're so right when you say that words hurt and they can have a lasting effect on how someone else sees themselves. Keep up the good work, you're one of my favourite RU-vidrs! Lots of love

I honestly feel that same pressure at the minute about masters etc. All my friends are either still at uni or will be doing a masters course. I’m the only one finishing education this year. I feel less clever then my friends because I do not need to do a masters. It’s so frustrating

Sorry for a third comment but it's just so good to hear someone having the same life goals :) I study business and I always feel like some people consider you somehow less worthy if you get good grades but still don't want to give your whole life to your career. Like sometimes I feel like I can't tell people that my life goal is a house, a family and a dog and a job I like with a paycheck that offers my kids all the opportunities I didn't have but yet I want to spend more time with my kids than on my job. Uni is not making me happy, studying is not making me happy and yet I'm lying sometimes on what I want in my life even though I can't picture myself as a Ceo of a big company or whatever because I got some pretty hurting reactions for what I really want in life and I think thats actually kinda sad

I relate to you about being stuck in your childhood bedroom. I'm only 17 so still live at home, but my family have never moved house and in a weird way its almost like I'm stuck in the past? also it's holding me back from having character development (I've kinda stayed the same my whole life) while other girls seem to be having "glow ups" as much as I hate to use that phrase. It's getting boring! I guess the environment you're in can really contribute to your personal growth and movement in life. Sorry that was deep but hope that made sense!!

Eve! What you said about academics is so true. I do a languages degree but it’s BSc so it’s based on politics/business/current affairs, I chose it because I just hate literature etc because like you say it is just not applicable to real life. I really like that I can study something that’s so transferable 😍

As a PhD student who’s struggling to complete it. Honestly unless the career you want to do requires one. Don’t do it to yourself. Do an mphil or an mres if you want to expand on research. PhDs are great but finding that original research niche and 80,000 words on it is hellish.
