Random question: If an animus dragon enchanted themselves to make themselves immune to animus spells EXCEPT their own, and did so before Boa cast her cancelation spell, would they still be able to use their magic?
Ok, that’s actually very interesting to think about. I’m guessing so, since even though Boa’s spell was made to get rid of all current animus magic, that doesn’t change the fact that the magic can still be canceled out by an existing spell. (SPOILERS AHEAD!) Take Queen Diamond and Prince Arctic as an example. Arctic enchanted Foeslayer’s earring to make her immune to Diamond’s spells, so when Queen Diamond cast a spell to bring Foeslayer back to the ice kingdom, it was rendered useless due to the already existing magic from Arctic. And another situation where the magic from one animus canceled out the magic from another dragon was when Anemone enchanted a boulder to hit Turtle. When Turtle cast a spell to try stopping the Boulder from hitting him, it didn’t work because Anemone had already told the boulder to not stop. However, this doesn’t mean I know the answer for certain. We still haven’t seen an instance of a dragon like Boa trying to get rid of the magic of another dragon who is already enchanted to be protected from animus magic. So there’s definitely still room for debate on this.
I'm guessing it would strip that Animus's power if they wording their first spell something like " *I* am immune to all other's animus magic" Because Boa's spell targets the attemps of future spells, not the dragon themselves, the protection spell does not activate. Something like "Make me and anything I own or create immune to other's spells" then, no. Boa's spell would not work on them.
I’d say yes, since it was BEFORE Boa cast the spell, but that’s very interesting! Since they’d be immune, Boa’s spell wouldn’t effect them, right? At least that’s what I’m speculating. But in Turtle’s book, DarkStalker can still use magic on him, even though Turtle protected himself. I’d say yes, the animus would still be able to use magic.
My favorite tribe right here! If I could choose to be any dragon tribe in Pyrrhia, I would be a SandWing. They’re clever, they know how to survive on rough circumstances, they’re always up for a good time, and they love music!
@@tom-ys3ju hmm, tough call At first I loved NightWings because of how mysterious they are and how much I love Starflight and Moonwatcher, but then I realized the tribe in general were pretty awful (and stupid with the way they hunted). The IceWings have such a cruel ranking society and inflated egos. The SkyWings also think too highly of themselves and seem to encourage fights more than the other tribes (although their belief in the afterlife is a cool touch). The RainWings are nice, but mostly don’t care about anything going on around them, even if it’s really bad. I never really liked the SeaWings very much, probably because I’m not a fan of either Tsunami or Turtle as protagonists, but the tribe itself is pretty organized (though I’m not sure I’d like to I live underwater and communicate through flashing lights). MudWings would probably be my second choice, since they have a strong sibling bonds and are generally passive dragons. But I think SkyWings are cooler.
SandWings are my favorite tribe too! They're a very musical tribe, (just ask anyone, they will tell you) they're smart, and they freely choose what they want. And...you know...they start twenty year continent wars because they couldn't find their weird eyeball jewelry... I have respect for them. (Don't worry, this is just a joke. I really do like SandWings.)
This is great! I like how charcoal goes over every dragon within the series, and rates them. The idea is clever, and I personally exited for the Nightwings and Icewings!
It really just feels like an "Oh shoot, I gotta do something" moment to me. Tui had dug herself into a hole with animus magic, scribbled down a quick idea to get rid of it in her first draft, then somehow got it to publishing.
I actually understand Boa stripping everybody of their Animus magic. Her mother and Dark stalker where horrible people and abused their Animus magic. Jerboa used her Animus magic to manipulate boa and darkstalker used his to control the continent. Who knows what and who will abuse their power. Also the most dangerous thing is that it's that you have to go on some dangerous adventure to get this you can have a icewing ancestor and you are one of the most powerful if not the most powerful in the world. Who knows what will they do with their powers and waht danger can ensue.
Also the more they abuse their power the more empathy and sanity they lose. A this has been stated in the books serveral times and we see a character who went completely insane from over using magic. The dragon I am talking about is albatross. Albatross went from a loyal brother and a cautious grandfather to going completely insane and killing most of his loved ones. The cause to all of this is Animus magic.
@@anandakar7978 We don't know if animus magic drives a dragon insane. Remember, Albatross has a lot of pressure put on him by Lagoon. Lagoon never let him stop using his magic and was always saying, "Oh, you know, I have Fathom too. I might not need you anymore." There were many other things that could have caused Albatross to snap that weren't animus magic.

This is my favorite WoF tribe right here (GO SANDWINGS)! They're smart, they have the hottest fire of any tribe and scorpion tails, they have the best ranking system in my opinion, and the Sand Kingdom is basically the California (I'm in Cali) of Pyhria as the Scorpion Den is basically like Compton but in WoF. Also they love music and have music festivals like concerts and Qibli plays drums and has an earring - I PLAY DRUMS AND HAVE AN EARRING! \M/

To clear up sand wing names. Sand wings are named after 1. landscapes/plants or 2. animals found in deserts, sometimes even 3. named after the desert and its nature. For example 1. Dune, Oasis, Smolder For example 2. Ostrich, jerboa, aardvark For example 3. Blister, blaze, burn
Boa's stripping Animus magic from the current world reminds me of that Marvel comics story when the Scarlet Witch used her magic while saying "No more Mutants." This wiped out a ton of characters, but in the long run was eventually forgotten. If there ever is a fourth WoF story arc, a new generation of Animus users would be a welcome addition.
Question (I asked this in the chat too): if you love SandWings but are 'meh' on SkyWings, why is your OC a SkyWing-NightWing hybrid instead of a SandWing-NightWing hybrid?
My question is ( a possibly stupid one) why can’t a animus just cast a spell saying “enchant my soul to always be good” I mean, it’s technically not referring to animus magic and it’s pretty straight forward plus dosent’ that mean the curse will have no effect??? I mean darkstalker enchanted his scales, who’s to say they can’t enchant their souls. Honestly if I found out I was a animus this would be the first spell I would make after finding out.
You said that Blister was allied with the Mudwings and SeaWings, I just want to point out that she was only allied with the SeaWings. Burn was the one allied with SkyWings and MudWings.
Wait if thorn is now queen dose that mean that sunny is now a princess? I mean in book 5 we SEE her holding the eye of onx without dieing wich means shes worthy and she even thinks abaut becoming queen before chosing her mother over becomeing queen so is she a princess?
Working on two OCs that grew up in the Scorpion Den, ones an actual Sandwing and the other is a Mud/Sand. This was very helpful for their backstories/writing :D
This happens in short mini stories called “Winglets”. There are four of them and they are super well written. But I only recommend reading them after you read book 8 and Legends: Darkstalker.
Has anybody ever thought about a rain wing sand wing would it have the tail venom or tooth venom or both or would the venom not shoot out would it be a different color or would they have to bite to get the venom out like night wings
Though, think about her childhood. Her mother did nothing but use animus magic to control and brainwash Boa. From de-aging her without permission to 'resetting' her mentally, to altering Boa's memories frequently, animus magic probably reminded Boa of her terrible dragonethood.

I'm not saying that her trauma should be ignored (I suffer from childhood trauma too) but removing a key aspect in her world just because of an event from her childhood is a bit much. Like, she could've asked an animus like turtle to remove the limb curse her mother put on her if she hadn't got rid of it

No offense but I think you said blister was allied with SeaWings and MudWings. However Burn was allied with SkyWings and MudWings and Blister with the SeaWings
Including “Wings of Fire” in the video titles helps a lot because of search terms. I’d say the other half is joining as many Discord servers as possible that allow advertising
