The Titanic what a beautiful, large and proud ship. It took 5 years from the first drawing to the first trip and the work of many thousands of workers. It was considered unsinkable but an iceberg destroyed this wonderful ship in 2 hours and cost so many peoples life. But the fascination continues till today.
The sight of the great ship, is much better in colour, The thought of all those passengers who lost their lives will never be forgotten, The loss of that whole ship with all its brand new fittings is almost as heartbreaking.Imagine for a minute, what it must have felt like for the people who built and furnished her.
What a beautiful ship she was for her time line. Such a tragic end. But without event's such as this, we would never learn or wise up to our climate and nature for safer travels along the high seas. Rip titanic.
It's in Belfast, on the site the ship was built. They built an exhibition centre, and restored the SS Nomadic, a tender owned by White Star that carried passengers to Titanic and Olympic. Greets from Belfast :) titanicbelfast.com/
I live in Belfast too. Can i ask, were you a bit disappointed by the actual size of the Titanic? You know where the new Titanic museum is, the outline of the blueprints they have on where the slipway was is apparently the same dimensions of the ship and I was expecting it to be a lot bigger lol. Lengthwise yes it was pretty impressive for its time but I thought it was incredibly thin in terms of its width.
Wow ! its amazing how those ship builders built this beautiful vessel ,unmatched for its day, to become the most famous ship the world has ever known ! We know she lies at the bottom of the north Atlantic, But she gets more famous by each passing day.
That's not the Lusitania. That is a picture of the Titanic right after it was fitted with the funnels but before they were painted. This picture was also taken before the modification was made to enclose part of the promenade deck giving Titanic its distinct difference in relation to the Olympic (probably the ship you were thinking of).
Interesting how the hull plates near the rudder are in several different shapes and not just rectangular like everywhere else on the ship. It must have taken a lot of careful measuring to fit all them close enough to be water tight
😮😮😮😮......!!! Wow is exellent and fantastic . Wow ..........." 1 9 1 2 " ....🇬🇧🇨🇴 .. ............. T I T A N I C ............ Liverpool ...... !!!👍👍👍👍👍
Such grace and power a ship that if it had not sank would just be a name only but now is a name from sorrow and mans own ego thinking it was unsinkable
All that at the bottom of the pitch black Atlantic Ocean, all those people in those pictures gone. Blink of an eye all human race will be gone when the sun dies. Scary and sad, make my heart feel heavy. All those individual lives that were lived that we will never know off lived and gone. Life should be cherished
Pardon my cynicism, but what the fuck has the sun dying got to do with this subject matter, the sun isn't going to even start running out of fuel for at least 4.9 billion years......irrelevant.And.....of course those people are all dead, even the ones not passengers. You,like most of the human race and especially Gen Assad,Trump, and Putin should be more concerned with the living now.Not dwelling on morose nostalgia.FFS.🤔
@@djsexey11 How can you criticise when you manage to go so into depth you bring Trump and Putin into it!!? It was a simple comment that any one with a brain could understand. Take a leaf out of your own book and maybe something for your period pains.
Вся эта мистическая череда мелких ,случайных событий...Сколько раз и столько всего я уже думал. Словно всё было против того, чтобы Он,тогда, приплыл в Нью-Йорк..( Спасибо за видео,однозначно Лайк!!!
Since my great grandparents were Titanic survivors, me and my family will be going on the other Titanic that will be built in 2016. I can't wait!! :D I love Titanic SO much!!
Very nice color pictures of titanic. I was in the port of Stockholm looking at the biggest finland ferries (the ferry is called "silja symphony" for those who want to google) 59000 GRT. I was just right beside it 100 meter away at other dock and it looked enormous!. it is 203 meter long and around 30 meter high from waterline to higest boatdeck. titanic was 66! meter longer but only about 20 meter from waterline to boatdeck, but with those 4 big funnels and massive bow and shape of the boat it must be an impressive sight even today and look huge.
Brings it all to life in an ironic sort of way. Big improvement. What was widely believed about the Titanic- that it was "unsinkable" as compared to what actually was proved to be the case, on April 14-15th 1912, is what fascinates the imagination.
RMS TITANIC the largest, most beautiful and technically perfect ship in the history of the human race. el mayor, más hermoso, y técnicamente perfecto navio de la historia de la raza humana. maior o navio, mais bonito e tecnicamente perfeito na história da raça humana. anton logvinenko fan you, love titanic in color.
I think history requires that the entire truth be communicated. I'm not a believer in sanitizing history or leaving out parts just because somebody might find them unpleasant.
I'm upset that RMS Titanic never finished her maiden voyage an that only 700 and something survived. It is kind of the distress callers fault. He told the closest ship around to shut up. The Californian. I wish that all the passengers made it but there would have to be 111 lifeboats. Some would be left to sink with the ship. There was only 36 life boats but there would have to be more to save the passengers. What made me mad is that so many 1 class passengers made it and not very many 2 or 3 class passengers made it. R.I.P RMS Titanic April 10 - April 15 . Rest in peace titanic and all its passengers. Every day we all hope that all of you made it along with the ship. I wish that if the titanic sank it would've sank near the bay of New York City. Then everyone cold have made it. RIP 😇
You seem to have got your figures a little confused. Titanic carried 16 wooden lifeboats and 4 collapsible ones, space for 1178 people. The originally planned 64 lifeboats would have been more than enough for everyone on board.
They were steam ships. The Californian was stationary for the night. Her main steam engines would have been off. The restarting process required that coal was shoveled into the boiler, then lit on fire. The burning coal would boil a lot of water. That process took quite a bit of time. The boiling water created steam. It took a lot more energy to raise the steam pressure enough to propel the ship at a useful speed.
Titanic or Olympic sit in the bottom of Atlantic ocean? Easy. Propeller number. On the wreck, it was numbered 401 which was Titanic construction number. Olympic construction number tho is 400.
Sebi Trains, You’re the dumbass. Read before you comment. Charles Krueger asked the common question: Which one is on the bottom? And he answered that its easy to know as thr propellers are numbers, which was 401 for Titanic, and that’s the one they found on the bottom of the ocean. 400 was Olympic’s no.
Amazes me how they bent the steel plates to precision for the frame of ship. Does anyone know what was used to make a watertight seal between the plates?
One issue I have with the Olympic family design: They were the only ships of the trans-Atlantic heyday with the bridge - the command center - level with the boat deck. Lusi-Mauritania, and even White Star's big 4 from 1900 all had the bridge at least one deck above the highest public deck. Common sense design you want your command center to have 360deg unobstructed view aside from funnels and stuff like that.
What many people don't realise it that the image at 1:05 the wording 'titanic' on the side of the ship isnt really there, but rather it was scratched (very well mind) into the original photograph
It actually is there. The name of the ship was actually not just painted, but etched into the steel. They painted inside the etch. Kind of like coloring inside the lines.
This is a very sad story of those people who probably saved every cent they had to pay for the ticket to begin a new life in the United States only to meet with a tragic event and death for many.
@ 3:30 colourized photo at night. I’d say photoshopped too. Why is there smoke coming from #4 stack? It’s Gotta be a Photoshop mistake. Funnel 4 was a dummy stack, just for looks. they thought it looked better and faster.
Hello, Anton Longvinenk I have a question: What is the name of this music? It is beautiful music and also sad but it is such a beautiful RMS Titanic. I think it is a shame that this ship sank
2:57 i always wonder when i see this picture. why it has all the flags across the mast lines it's the only picture i know with the flags. on her maiden voyage there were no flags
