I’m not sure why anyone is surprised that Purdy has slowed down his throwing. He was confronted with interceptions against Baltimore. If there is anything I’ve come to expect from Purdy: learn and improve.
This is it. Here is the moment we have been waiting for four years now. I always figured we would be back against KC. It's destiny. The team was supposed to be back last year but Purdys arm got shredded. They had a gameplan for the Chiefs. Eagles lost because they underestimated their opponent. 49ers would have beat them. This year was a mission. We said "NOBODY better get in our way." The Cowboys tried, they got wooped. The Eagles tried, they got spanked. The Packers tried, they got melted. The Lions tried, they got neutered. This year, the gameplan hasn't changed. We know who the team to beat is. We have been planning for this game for 4 years. There is vegence to be had but more important is glory. I do believe whole heartedly that the 49ers will win this game. Brock Purdy and team will hoist that Lombardi trophy come February 11. This is it. This is it.
No we had this one in the Bag , then our coach gets greedy and instead of kicking a 45 yarder like an experienced coach would do , he goes for it and Bosa messes up our plans!!! Then our rookie running back (in the pro bowl) fumbles it on our first possession after the 49'ers scored , and it was all academic after that No worries we will be back next year to give the niner gang a setback good Luck to y'all in the SB nobody deserves to lose it twice in four years
@@srf2112 oh man, thanks! I am about to go down this rabbit hole. The more I learn about it, the more I am gonna be obsessed over it. Originally I wasn’t into it because of the many interruptions, timeouts, and commercial breaks that made me lose interest. Where I come from, soccer was our main obsession, and that’s what I was loyal to all these years.
Think of the game as two generals( coaches) orchestrating a war. Offensive War . Defense War. Run game(ground war) pass game ( air war). Moving the trench line into your enemies territory. Like war its can be slow and methodical punctuated with a sudden and quick attack into your territory( endzone) . Time-outs are merely short truces allowing both sides to regroup. Greatest game on the planet IMO. Very American. @@Nathan-pm8mh
Not gonna lie. I thought Niners lost this game but so happy they came back and saved me from a horrible Monday. Ah! Coffee never tasted so sweet like it did this morning. 😅
The 2nd half is an entire Brock Purdy highlight reel! Watch every offensive play one after another and it is quite impressive. Completed 13-of-16 passing attempts for 174 yards, one touchdown, no turnovers and a 132.8 passer rating. He also added 49 rushing yards, averaging over 10 yards per carry. The first NFL quarterback in the last 30 years -- regular season and postseason -- to record that stat line in a single half.
Thank you. You have a like and subscribe. There is no fluff just facts here. It's amazing to see the team I love actually being broken down by Xs and Os with no ulterior motives. Keep up the good work 💪🏾
Your breakdown on the game is so good that I want to broadcast your channel to my fellow 9ers fans so they can enjoy it like me. I did mention your channel on the Chase Daniel channel (I was hesitant to do so; it seemed wrong) in the discussion of the penalty flag on BA's 51 yard catch and unfortunately the post about your channel got deleted.😢
Thank you so much for explaining it in the simple language for novice to this sport like me😂. I know this game was so so exciting and I couldn’t believe the 49ers almost lost at the beginning. I was telling my friend to do they know how to play? But I was in disbelief that it was a huge comeback. I was searching on RU-vid anything I could find about this game and your video was the best! Thank you for explaining the players position and the highlights of this outstanding game. I really need to buy a book and learn about football. now I became a big fan. Thank you so much for your video and lesson.🎉
Until now, I've never had the opportunity to view one of your videos breaking down the key skirmishes of a football game. I've always been a football fan but I'm more or less a novice. You made me realize the complexities of the game. Football is more like a war where all the players have to be aware of how their efforts and foresight affect the outcome of a skirmish/game. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of the game, and GO 49ers! (Hope McCaffery is OK!) I'm a new subscriber and believe you should have more subscribers than are currently enrolled. Great job.
Thank you Josh for a tremendous season, this game especially! I had to bail out on the 49ers in both playoff games this year. They never come back while I'm watching, so I did my bit. I didn't know the result of this one until Monday morning! I obviously made the right call again. I hope I don't have to bail during the Super Bowl. Does anyone have a spare ticket? I still have time to drive my 20 year old car cross country to Vegas!😔
What an amazing video breakdown this was. Honestly, I couldn’t find anything better than this by a long shot. The quality on this is phenomenal! Good job wife for supporting your husband too. 🎉
Great film analysis this game was a true classic...9ers have shown they can take a punch ....this game and Philly stand out in my eyes for the teams Character..... go 9ers baby let's get that 6th Lombardi !
Great Call Josh !! Really appreciated the multi views on most of the best plays. I think Mr Irrelevant is very relevant now, and as an advocate for the underdogs, I could not be happier he is with us....His runs were punishing in the timeliness of the 9ers momentum. You and the lovely Mrs. Putnam are so generous with publishing these games, it has made this and past seasons so much more enjoyable....Thanks Josh !!
I was thinking about this game. What impressed me the most about this team, the 49ers, was their poise, calmness, athleticism, and most important, their professionalism to buckle down and win this game (and the game against the Packers). They knew what they had to do to win. THEY HAVE MATURED. Also, 49ers QB Brock Purdy has shown that he can scramble and most of all he can run. He averaged 17 yards per carry. Deadly.
The offensive game plan for the 49ers should be to establish the run early on to open up the passing game and to keep on running the ball after that. Why not as the Niners have the best running back in the NFL in Christian McCaffrey? Considering Brock Purdy rushed for 48 yards against the Lions who have one of the top rated run defenses in the NFL adds another dimension to the Niners run game. And this is crucial as the teams that beat the Chiefs this season did so by running the ball, exposing the Chief's weak run defense. First game of the season for Kansas City was against the Lions who rushed the ball 34 times including 21 carries by Montgomery, leading to a 21-20 upset of the Chiefs. Midway through the season, the Chiefs faced the Broncos who rushed the ball a whopping 40 times for 153 yards, which isn't bad for a Broncos team without an elite RB, which led to a 24-9 upset blowout of KC. A couple of games later, the Chiefs faced the Eagles who rushed the ball 27 times which led to 3 rushing TDs, enough to beat the Chiefs 21-17. A couple of games after that, the Chiefs faced a Packer team that rushed the ball 25 times, which is a lot considering they are predominantly a passing team. The Packers upset the Chiefs 27-19. The following week, the Chiefs played the Bills who rushed the ball 28 times despite Josh Allen having 42 passing attempts. The Bills defeated the Chiefs at KC, 20-17. A couple of games after that, the Chiefs faced the Raiders who ran the ball 29 times for 157 yards. Not bad for a team without a good RB. The Raiders beat the Chiefs at KC, 20-14. What cannot be overstated is the Chiefs up the ante and take it to another level during the postseason, yet the same rule still applies. In the AFC Wild Card Round, the Chiefs faced the Dolphins who rushed the ball 18 times for 76 yards, with Pro Bowl starting RB Raheem Mosert only carrying the ball 8 times. As a result, the Dolphins suffered a blowout loss to KC by a score of 26-7. In the AFC Divisional Round, the Chiefs faced the Bills who rushed the ball 39 times for 182 yards and nearly beat the Chiefs, losing 27-24 after a missed field goal late in the game. In the AFC Championship, the Chiefs faced the Ravens who rushed the ball 16 times, of which RBs carried the ball just 6 times for a measly 23 yards. It's no surprise the Ravens were held scoreless from 5 minutes left in the 1st quarter to near the end of the 4th quarter. After establishing the run, the 49ers offensive line needs to give Brock Purdy adequate protection on passing plays so he will have time to throw to his receiver targets Aiyuk, Deebo, Kittle and Jennings. Bang! Bang! Niner Gang! Niners!!!
Josh found this excellent channel 3 years ago and wow the quality has never wavered. Excellent breakdown Josh! 16:00 Who else held their breathe for a second? 36:10 Besides Purdy MANAGED to make the defender miss! 13:30 Josh, it looks if Purdy throws to the back corner, he has Deboo, or ball is out of the endzone. Purdy even gives Deboo a second look. 40:00 Josh you know if that is the Poster Boy if would have been called. 42:00 Wilks as well as all the coach's credit this win to as well. Wilks shutting down the Lions running lanes and getting after Goff. Shutout the second half (other than the TD way late). 46:22 Josh, do you know status of Ambry Thomas he was the only player I saw that did not return. Logan Ryan finished the game. Would be a huge plus to go in Super Bowl injury free. 48:30 The NFL saw an opportunity to anoint a new Poster Boy. Now Poster Boy has been in last 4 of 5 Super Bowls, hmm? Thank You Mrs. Putnam for allowing Josh the time to put together I for one a video I look forward to watching!
Josh what a game man this is really a pleasure to enjoy this finally niners have a quarterback that is a playmaker hame changer let's go get this lombardi 🎉🎉🎉
Great analysis of the game, thank you. And thanks to 49ers Faithful UK for linking me up with this content. New subscriber alert. Also, thank you to Mrs P! 😀
Never stop doing this, dear Josh. It's awsome and very educational every single game. Hopefuly the last one of this year comes with the conquest of the sixth
This video was put together with sooo much love that the only thing that I can do is Return some of it back😊❤Awesome job. Thanks to you and your team n especially to your wife🎉❤🎉
Josh, I discovered you in 2021. I followed the 9ers HEAVILY that season and you were putting out such good content! And now, you get to analyze a legendary game!! Thank you!!
I was at that 57’ game at Kezar Stadium. I was 13 years old sitting with my brother, my dad, and my uncle. At halftime, my dad dispatched me to the Niner ticket office to be first in line to buy tickets to the championship game against Cleveland the following weekend. I missed the whole 2nd half collapse. It still sucks today and ranks as one of the toughest losses along with the Preston Riley fumble of an onside kick by Dallas in the 72 championship game.
This is an incredible story, thank you so much for sharing. I can't compare with that, but I was at the Conference Championship game in 2011 when we had a lead in the 4th against the Giants, only to suffer a disappointing loss in that one as well. My story is somewhat similar to yours in that I had to leave early. My Boss had given me a stern warning that he expected me at work on time the following day. Well this was awfully tricky for me since I live in Seattle and had to be at work at 4am!! As soon as the game went to overtime I had to sprint out and grab a taxi, fly back to Seattle, come home & change, and go to work. I had to listen to the Giants win the game in the cab. However as we both know there are ups and downs in this sport, and the 49ers have put themselves in position to go after another Championship, and I have a good feeling about this one! 😃
Josh you hit it out of the park again with this one . Epic background music for an epic game. Great game analysis . It’s been a wonderful journey with you this year , watched all your videos . We got one more together brother . The main prize . The Super Bowl victory analysis. Let’s get that 6 . The best fan base in the world , Niners ! Go Niners !
Thanks for another great video Josh. Niners defense can't break down like they did with the Chiefs even for five minutes. Mahomes will stick a fork in us.
I thought your team was all about comebacks. The KC defense will shut the 49ers offense down. They literally have the perfect strengths to kill any play SF throws at them.
I enjoyed your commentaries all season, excellent job - again - certainly the game itself was amazing. One more to go and looking forward to the game and your commentary afterward. Hopefully it will be a happy one.
I absolutely loved your breakdown of such a incredible game!!! The Niners where on 🔥🔥🔥 in the 2nd half there was no stopping them!!! I want to so badly take out the Chiefs!!! Let's go Niners!!! ❤💛🏈
GREAT VIDEO! One of the best game breakdowns I've seen. Very well done and a lot of work went into it. Thanks. I can see all the mistakes on defense first half. A shutout in 2nd half except garbage time TD. 😀🏈
Great video, thank you. From a die-hard fan in Auckland Nz. I lived in San Jose 79- 2011. Was 17 was either Raiders or SF, I chose the latter. Best decision ever 😅.
So, after rewatching this, I'll say that the defense almost had too much adrenaline, and we're just not playing coherently and smoothly. Whatever energy that they had during Halftime shifted, and boy, we went off.
Lesssss go! I'm hyped for this one I think he threw that flag before seeing where the ball was and picked it up because the defender was making a play on the ball and not impeding Aiyuk's route. I could be wrong though.
