Charlie, I'll have that rendition of Back in Black, or Black is Black that Gail alluded to. You had me rolling because when I speak of you with my husband, I call you my punk rock painter! First of all, you've always looked like a rock star, but more over, your irreverence for watercolor saved my painting hobby/ career! Before you get upset, let me explain. I studied watercolor for 4 years before even touching paper. I was THAT person who had 35 posh paints and brushes that cost more than my life. Every time I stepped up to my easel, I wanted to vomit and my guts would turn to ice water! All of the " water in your brush, on your paper, in your paint, where's the light, don't forget perspective, all of that left me paralyzed! Then I found you, with your bish, bash, bosh, and twiggy, bushy bits. Suddenly, it wasn't brain surgery, but fun! It was completely liberating! I gave my posh stuff to some budding watercolorist who felt they needed that crap to be "better". You got me to my first successful skies, trees, rocks and water. I bought your brushes because I couldn't smash a $100 brush into my paper. They handle EXACTLY as you said they would. I have my own style now, but I wouldn't have any of it without you! I paint with you every new video and I make an evening of it. It's like a standing poker night with your closest friends! I love the two of you SO much! Thank you! I love you, Charlie!
There are so many experts out there to tell you what to do!! EXPERTS. An EX is a has been and a SPERT is a drip under pressure!!!!! It really a load of bullshit. Paint how you want for YOU. Not stuck up pillacks who think they know it all. Have a lovely Christmas.
Your watercolour tutorials, and your video recordings, Charles and Gail are much appreciated. You always bring such pleasure to so many people's lives by your kindness in taking the time to share your talents. Thank you! Have a wonderful Christmas and here's hoping for a peaceful and joyous new year with 2024.
I love this style of painting, but I struggle with leaving so many empty spots. I always think I need to fill everything in. But watching your videos has given me the freedom to not fuss with it. I still have a long way to go, but you are sure helping me get there. Thanks so much!
What a wonderful painting. I love snow scenes. Well painting them. Thank you and Gail for another fabulous video and a Merry Christmas to you both and to the dogs. - Dawn 🌅
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas Charles and all the very best for the New Year. Can't wait for you to release more tutorials. I always really enjoy them

It's all absolutely lovely. Eagerly waiting for the next video. Maybe something with an urban landscape would be possible? It would be very interesting to see how you do it. Thanks for the watercolor and Merry Christmas to you and Gail. God bless you
almost a complete novice in watercolor…but, how I enjoy it! One of the few paintings I’m really proud of is one I did following your tutorial…an adorable cottage….you’re a great teacher. Blessings to you and yours in this beautiful season. 💌🌲
As entertaining and informative as ever Charles. Very best wishes to you and Gail for lovely Christmas - who knows we might even get some snow up here in the "grim" north east that yuy can paint 🎨
Nice wintry cottage, especially with burning two fires... I live in a shack-teau & still heat with wood here in the Colorado mountains. Love how you've used big brushes to paint a little greeting card. Cheers to you Charles. Thanks for posting your tutorials. Love 'em!.

Fantastico vederti disegnare e dipingere. Ho mutuato alcuni tuoi dipinti. Sono favolosi e li ho appesi. Ho acquistato anche due tuoi libri. Tanti auguri dall'Italia e precisamente dalla regione Marche.
Superb, Mr Evans, you make it look so easy, the sign of a true Master of his craft! Merry Christmas to you both and thank you for the videos and the banter. All the best for 2024.
Thanks both! Simple and effective - just the ticket for hand-made personal greetings. Much appreciated as always. Merry Christmas (Nadolig Llawen) from South Wales.
Greetings to you and Gail from County Durham ☺️ I love your videos, so a big thank you to you (and Gail for keeping you right 😉). Your palette absolutely fascinates me - I’d love to know the story behind why it’s soooo messy (no judgement there, honestly 🤣) Wishing you both a peaceful Christmas and thanks again.
I look at some of your completed paintings and think "Yere, OK",; and then you pull the tape off and "Wow!!". Why does that white border lift the work from "ordinary" to "extraordinary". I am gobsmacked every time.
The wife has bought me your pocket book for watercolour artists and watercolour rescue for Christmas I've only been trying to paint since July this year, I just wish I'd have started much earlier in my life I find it such fun even though I'm not that good but I'm sure I'll improve as I move forward
Hey Charlie, huge fan. Thank you for putting out these videos. Would you ever do a critique of a piece? I have one in particular I spent a lot of time on but for some reason it just doesn’t feel right and I feel as if I’ve hit a road block in skill.
Great little exercise, unfortunately to late to be this years Christmas card, well there's always next year if I can't get my wintery sycamore gap done, cheers all the best.
