Thank you both again for another delightful lesson Charles and Gail. You have more than one gift but, for me, the important message you’re able to express is that one doesn’t need expensive equipment but just having the courage to have a go. I’m going to have a go on this subject, I’ve got the Langton paper already and I’ll make do with the rest of my equipment. It’ll be quite a change from😢 my frustrating attempts at botanical art. Megan
Thank u for this lesson again Sir. Best wishes from Bulgaria. Amazing watercolour technique as always. You're quite genuine and honest artist when you are demonstrating.
Hello I am so sorry if this sounds weirds but you wrote such a nice and wonderful comment on here and I like your comment. I can tell you're a very positive person. If it's okay with you I'd love to be friends.
Thank you Charles a great tutorial l absolutely love it. Christmas cards are being worked on at the moment and just finished a lovely painting for my son. when the cards are done this is one painting that I must have a crack at and use the view I have as my inspiration and follow your instructions. Thank you once again to you and Gail.
Thanks again for fitting another, different, tutorial into your busy schedule. Can't wait for the new book to come out. It's just what I need. Thanks to Gail too for all the videos and being brave enough to show the world your art 🤗
Wow at last another watercolour tutorial, I know you obviously busy, but would love to see more of your work on here, I bought all the paints you use and the brushes, but cos of my depression and anxiety, I still ain't had ago, you give me so much inspiration when I watch your videos, and oooh may have to invest in your new book, cos I used to watercolour like Gail lol :)
I was scared that I wouldn't be able to do it, but I just had a go and I amazed myself. Do yourself a favour and have a go. If you don't do as well as you wanted to, you can do another pîcture
Brilliant lesson Charles I will certainly have a go at it. By the way, Ikea no longer have pencils, tragedy, used them for ages for golf and now drawing. I would love one of your old and worn out smocks.
Dear Charles, I’ve just got my paints and brushes out and had a go at this peace of art, followed your work and loved it for many a year. Thank you both. Ps. It’s 1 . O’clock in the morning now, but when you get the urge to paint you have to paint. Right Charles.
“Its all lines n blobs” and “tick with a stick” i dunno why but this made me chuckle. Spot on my friend! Im gonna have a go at this one i think. Thank you for another great video!! Also a huge thank you to Gail for videoing!!!
I started doing watercolor last year, and I've never been able to "mix enough" the first time for washes. I always just make a quick swatch and note on the first mix and don't fret too much over variations when remixing. Good color matching and mixing practice.
Hi Charles. What A wonderful painting. I love the way that you and Gail interact with each other, and your director joke was very funny. I thought a Dai Rector was a Welsh Clergyman! Sorry. I’ve got a terrible sense of humour too. A wonderful demonstration and great camera work from Gail. Thank you both. All the best - Dawn 🌅
Brilliantly explained Charles and amazing effect of detail depth with minimum colours, really enjoy your videos and find them inspirational. Thank you both so much for sharing the banter stay safe and healthy
Thank you for this amazing informative tutorial. Love the straightforward approach, colour mixing details and technical tips. Thanks so much. I produced something not half bad!
Thank you for this session. I am new to painting and I have learnt so much by watching this. Primarily, don't stress, use 'blobs' and how to mix colours. I am about to 'have a go now'. Great to hear a Northern accent from here in New Zealand...with my Yorkshire accent. Thanks again, Barb :)
Une chaîne très belle, utile, merveilleuse et attrayante. Dessin très cool. Bravo. Que Dieu augmente votre talent et votre activité. Je vous souhaite du succès et un succès durable Merci pour cette magnifique vidéo. 💯💯
if i dont get your new book for Christmas then ill get in the new year ,as all the books i have of yours are fab to follow, Thank you once more for your free time to inspire others to pick up a paint brush
I have looked at several tutorials on painting with watercolors and watercolor pencils. You are the one I have liked the most, so I am going to try to learn by seeing how you work. Thanks for your generosity. A cordial greeting. (my english was generated by google translate)
Yet again an excellent video. Look forward to the new book. I really need to be able to fix my water colour mistakes. There generally a lot of them in my paintings 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi Charles. Peter from Noosa Australia. Another great lesson in not getting too complicated. Along with many things you have taught me, I think not being too complicated is the most important. Let other people see what they imagine from our paintings. I hope all is well in your world and you are enjoying life again. Hope to be in England next year. I would like to buy you and Gail a drink or two. Well till next time many thanks. Peter Butler.
@@charlesevans7706 Charles, You are an amazing and talented artist AND teacher. For sure. Your humorous way of introducing art is wonderful. Naturally. Hope you are well. All the best!
Very nice, Charles. I love the sky, and the "lack of detail" in the bish bash bosh wobbly blob trees. The "digital" grass works well, too. Nice to "see" you, too, Gail! :)
Hello I am so sorry if this sounds weirds but you wrote such a nice and wonderful comment on here and I like your comment. I can tell you're a very positive person. If it's okay with you I'd love to be friends.
You're brilliant. I have your acrylics for beginners. Delighted to find your channel. High end learning for a beginner like me, much appreciation for what you give. Cheers.
Hi Charles, Really enjoyed your watercolour demonstration …as you say there is no specific detail, only the simple shapes and colour to suggest the distant hills and trees. Very useful painting techniques. Best regards, Wayne
@@charlesevans7706 your welcome. You make it seem effortless. I'm horrible at watercolors. I need more control. I use watercolor pencils, but use water sparingly.
Hello you two, where have you been, we’ve missed you. Lovely painting, not exactly the same as the acrylic one but i know you never copy exactly….i do like the acrylic one too though, thank you…..much love from south africa
Excellent work, Charles! Suggestion: If you do this painting again, in watercolor, then consider painting the birds in a "toned-down" gray. The birds you painted are too black for my taste. Your acrylic painting had the lighter birds on-top of the darker clouds and that allows us "not" to focus on just three black birds. Opinions are like... What do I know! :)
As always, I love your paintings. Occasionally I have managed to do one that looks a little like yours. However, the sound on my laptop is not good (I need a new one) and the subtitles are hilarious. Must be that lovely Northumberland accent.
Excellent video as usual and great camera work from Gail. Charles can you tell us something about paper size I know you paint in A3 but any guidance or your thoughts on size choice would be useful ie it’s implications regarding design.
Do live anywhere near Cornwall or Devon? Would love to see you paint your views of the Moore's of Devon and or the craggy coast of Cornwall. ( My home land far away)
How do you not wind up with muddy colors? The paints look like they are running together? Thank you for answering first question your work is beautiful.
Good day Mr. Evans! I've really been enjoying your watercolour videos lately (even bought a set of brushes from you), but I seem to have a problem you don't have... Every time I pre-wet my paper, it starts bulging and waving up on me, just outright misbehaving! I have two different 200g weight papers, and it happens to both of them. Any tips for a novice?
Hopefully you’re painting on an easel, because if you’re painting flat any paper will buckle. Because the water won’t run down it will just gather on the paper.
@@charlesevans7706 I am. I tape my paper to a flat plate, and rig up on my easel. If I put on too much water I end up with wobbly paper, if I try to be more careful with the wetness it dries up too fast. Thanks for replying! Guess I'll get some 300g paper and just keep trying :)
