Maryland Sheep and Wool. 50 years! It was fun. My husband was utterly bewildered. For some reason he was thinking we were going on a farm tour a la Joel Salatin's farm, Polyface. No idea where he got this idea. Sheep and Wool -Festival-. Obvious, right? Anyway, not the best compatriot for raw fleece buying. It was hot. In 2 hours I got the worst nose sun burn in 50 years. But it was great. My shopping list included 2 raw fleeces (Check!), bits and bobs of cool little stuff to add to batts (Check!), yarn and/or blended batts unlike my own (Check!). Husband found pizza (no waiting in line) and then took a nap in the shade. 2 hours was his max, and we were back on the road for the 4.5 hours back home.
