So Im a middle aged man that was forced into the security field after the covid 19 pandemic of 2020 abruptly shut down my personal business. Forced to deal with the reality of losing my business, I made a pivot back into security work for the first time in five years. Understanding that I’m behind the curve in terms of firearms and combat experience, my goal is to seek out knowledge that will make me a better guard while also helping to prepare myself and family for today’s uncertain times. My hope is to rise above the everyday typical stereotype of a “security guard” by putting the same efforts I have into being an entrepreneur into being a professional. As I learn, I’ll also share with others in an effort to help them become “atypical” as well. I have a seeking heart, but all of this information could very well one day save my life. I’d love to colab on a podcast or something, and would love any of the guards reading this to check out what I’m working on. All respect to everyone here, especially the amazing sister in the video.
Don’t use a level one holster for the gun. You’re gun can be easily taken away during a fight if you’re using that. Get yourself a Safariland 6360 level III duty holster.
Great video Moses. I ran a cross this and was pleasantly surprised to see you have furthered yourself in the security world from your days starting out with me in unarmed security. Keep up the great work you are doing, and your great work ethic will take you far. God Speed!
Awesome Video and Very Informative... 99% of these Videos are Crap.... You did a Wonderful Job and if your not a Cop or a Firearms Instructor by now I would be Surprised... A+ 👍👍👍
Your magazine should always face the same way for muscle memory reloads. In a stressful environment having magazines that are all facing different ways each day is going to make reloading difficult. Just a helpful tip
I love your videos you’ve really progressed! Can you do a video on how your holster works? You explain everything so well. And maybe a day on the field.
Hello Gary from Grindelwald Tasmania. Security guard and Glock 17 FDE (Flat Dark Earth) licenced gun owner, experienced firearms owner. May I please reiterate that your demonstration of loading a Glock 17 had several discrepancies. Firstly, you shouldn't release the slide with the slide stop. It eventually damages the spring. You should pull it back with your free hand. Secondly, there is nothing wrong with tapping the fully loaded magazine. It ensures that the magazine is correctly seated. Please trust me, I have been a security guard for 25 years and a gun owner for 20 years. I know what I'm talking about. Good luck and thank for your demonstration. Please stay safe and protect yourself.
Just a note Always wear your oc spray on the non lethal side so if the oc spray fails or doesnt effect the suspect you still have your weapn hand free to draw.
Love your video and im a security officer for dynamics security i had a bit trouble with my duty belt early yesterday but i see how to do it when you showed how to but yeah im here at work now pulling a 12 hr shift
You have given me the best demonstration that I have ever seen of loading and unloading a weapon I am thinking about getting a weapon and you have really explain this to me like a true big sister thank you so much
You want to slap or force your mag in when reloading or loading your weapon for the day, I've seen many times where a mag will drop out when its not locked and seated properly when you go to draw the weapon or if you have to fire a round. It will fall out, there is nothing wrong with putting force or hitting it with the palm of your had to make sure that mag is locked in the weapon correctly.
@@handled99 my dad has instructed many people, and saying "don't slap /harm/hurt the gun is a bad thing cause you can't be afraid of breaking your gun so slap it(no one can be 100%sure the click was the mag locking) the best thing do say is slap it!
Andrew when your in a situation when you need to reload, due to adrenaline you’ll try and reload as fast as possible. it’s done by every police officer during a OIS
It’s a slide stop not a release. Also slam the mag in to ensure it’s seated. If you don’t there is a possibility that the mag catch is not locked when you draw your weapon and the mag falls out in a self defense situation. Highly recommend a level 3 retention holster with a hood for a extra level of security. The slide lock can be used for a release if your week hand is injured. Also train at the range with weapon manipulation. Would also suggest a WML (weapon mounted light).
@@GoldieLocs101 he was giving you constructive criticism. I agree, make sure the mag is seated properly. More of a bump than a slam. I was a SPO for multiple years, as well. Here is more to work with: when you are feeding use your index finger touching the tip of the projectile as a guide to get into the mag well. All in all, you put a good video. Chances are I received training from some that trained you.
Um, quick question on the cable lock for the pistol. Where did you learn to run the cable through the barrel? Pretty sure you should run the cable through the magazine well. First time I’ve seen that???
Good video, what's with the 10 rd magazines though? Also, what do you carry for a flashlight? How about OC spray? Duty knife/tool? First aid supplies? I once knew a very switched on police officer up north who even kept a couple of MREs in his duty bag.
I once had a fellow soldier stand right behind me while i was off base with my girlfriend watching, I had a similar holster but a button press to release but honestly a hard tug was enough to release it, any who, I turned around after dumping my food in the trash and he was right there, NEVER even knew he was behind me, stuck with me till this day over 10 years later, I hope you've gotten a better holster in which someone cant snatch your gun from you when you're not paying attention.
Are there daytime jobs where I could still come back home to my son after school? And if you only had 10 rounds in the first mag, by chambering it and then dropping it out, you still end up with 10 rounds right? I have heard that it’s easiest to carry a hot chamber (carrying one ready to go without needing to charge the handle and cycle the action to chamber a round) if you 1. Use 10 round mag to load one in chamber by cycling it from your mag while loaded. 2. Unload mag only, by dropping mag and insert another round into your mag. 3. Load mag into hot chambered gun with 10+1 in the chamber! If I missed something, and when you cleared the gun, If you then added another round to make 11, I’m sorry for the mistake ! Hope you stay safe.
Hi, the only thing I would say do different is instead of curing the slide .... pull on the back portion of the slide ...... I’m just afraid your going to get you palm in the slide if it slips and closes..... I did that once in the police academy ......
@@TowProVlogsIt really doesn’t matter regulations or not... if you’re in a shoot out and one of her FMJs hit the suspect and goes threw them then hits a innocent bystander... now your company is held accountable for that.
In a pressure situation keeping your magazines stored in the same orientation (with your rounds pointing downward) can save you from fumbling around potebtially trying to load it backwards... which could save your life. Also... if you're just loading 3 magazines, charging and holstering, your weapon, you only have 29+1, not 30+1. Great video. 👍🏾
The slide well is design for the magazine to be slapped into the well especially if u in a gun fight were its u or them the side release button is a magizine release and me personally im not going to have a round in the chamber unless im out in public
I first thought this video was gonna be another mall cop joke! You got it all right. Your demonstration on firearm saftey , loading and unloading was on point. Also setting up your duty belt was very professional. Great job!
You don’t have duty ammunition in your gun. FMJ is not duty ammunition. You should have hollow points. You use hollow points because you want the bullet to stop at what you are shooting at. Full Metal Jacket ammunition will go through whatever you are shooting at.
Just a suggestion, I know it's not important to you how your spare mags are oriented, but this is so important when it comes to a fast and efficient reload, you're setting yourself up for failure having those mags oriented where and how they are, and it could cost you your life! Stay safe out there and train train train!!!
Get your carry permit, the proper training, certificates etc, and start looking for better jobs. They are out there and the pay quite more fore armed security.
Because I am Canadian I can open carry on my own property. don't have a pal so I can't Carry anything over 500 feet per second so better something then nothing
ya the way you're mags face has a huge impact of rather you die or not in a gunfight when u run out of ammo god forbid you shove the mag in the wrong way get it jammed up and now you are in bad shape.
love the video but there's one problem i saw while you where explained how many rounds you carry you said you carried 30+1 but you never reloaded the one round you put into the chamber so your only carrying 30 rounds if you have 3 10 round mags
Love the 5:11 pants. No safety on? Also your holster is a level 1 retention but anyone can try and easily take your duty weapon. You should get a level 3 might save your life.
Kinston Nelson .... lol I’m not going to lie it’s hard because I do carry HARD plates. But with time you’ll get use to it. I’ll make a video on that one day so stay tuned.
Red Lion 718 .... Thanks for the love hun and yes you can have two different SPO license as long as they are for different states. But if it’s for the same state you can only have one armed SPO license and one SO license. Hope this answered your question.
Yeah that covered it. As long as i can get both an spo and an so in dc I’m good. Now i just gotta get my paperwork and training together . Thanks again and keep doing your thing
Olive good video what’s a spo sorry I don’t know I’d like to get into a unit like that what do you. Thank you I’ll tune into more and probably answer my own question.
@@krunglebung8993 the safety is dont put your damn booger hook on the bang switch 😂. But in all seriousness, yeah its safe. The firearm stays in the holster until its ready to be used. The holster is the first level of safety. Most duty holsters have levels of retention as well. A holster is level 1. Level 2 is a loop or shroud. Level 3 adds a lock mechanism that needs to be pushed before you can drop the loop. Sounds complicated but it doesnt really slow down drawing a whole lot. Again as for the safety when the firearms drawn, only put your finger on the trigger when you're ready to shoot (destroy) what you're pointing the firearm at.
So just to put this out there. I am in NO way shape or form a professional. I am not an instructor or certified fire arm genius. However, I am licensed to Carry a weapon. This video is just to show you guys how I get dressed for my shift (tour of duty). These are my techniques, routine and preference. So please don’t come for me. With that being said. I hope you guys Enjoy the video.
I recently moved to Maryland and I'm hoping to take classes to be an SPO... I've emailed and sent them messages asking about the price for classes but no response. I was hoping that you could tell me or point me in the right direction to find out? Thank you in advance and I really appreciate your videos. They helped me make this decision. 👍🏿💯
Just some advice. You should carry hollow points, you should slap the mag to make sure it is properly seated, and you shouldn't stick your finger in the chamber in case the slide stop slips off and crushes your finger.
