In this video, I will show you duty belt setup and how to set up a duty belt for armed security guards. All firearms shown were shown in a safe manner in a safe desert public area range and no bystanders or property was at risk.
Off roster my weapon in California is $4,800.
My holster is a level two. That is a personal choice as is reduces the chances of error; obviously, you should train with your holster to get comfortable with it. Something that I did not get into much detail that my gun has a manual safety. If someone were to remove my gun from the holster, they would have to takeoff the manual safety and apply pressure to the grip safety - this could take fractions of a second or seconds depending on the assailant’s familiarity with 1911 style firearms. At the same time, I would produce my pocket .357 to end the fight. Let me make it clear though. My recommendation is to get a level 3 Safariland holster BUT correctly train with it do you get used to deactivating two of the retention devices.

Pro tip; avoid carrying hard or metal items on your spine or over your lower back. Handcuffs, knives, EMT tools ✂️, etc. If you are pushed or slip, knock over you might sustain a spine, nerve, back injury. 🤕.

Grest video brother in blue. I was a Marine Force Recon Sniper. My MOS number is 0317. I was an Armor to. 2111 I did MP work as well 0511. I was in 4 years from 1987-1991 after hugh school. I went to college in UWM for criminal science/police science. I graduated and paid for my academy. After 16 weeks i graduate. I spent 25 years on 2 different depts. I just retired. I was a SWAT sniper. We wore Safariland basket weave, or black Sam Brown belts in 94 or with the buckle. We used basket weave and black pouches. 1993 i got on. We used PR-24 batons, mace, meg lights. By 1995 we switched to ASPs baton, pepper spray, stinger lights. I had yo buy all my own equipment. We started with Smith and Wesson 357 magnums 688 k frame and Colt Python 357. Then we went to Smith and Wesson 4506 stainless steel. Then Sig Sauer P20 45 ACP then Sig Sauer P 320 45 ACP.

You’re a very genuine person and I like your setup. I do however see many new and more streamlined and faster options available on the market. I believe the company you mentioned before was “Etsy”. You should consider switching to the clip together duty belt. That looks painstakingly frustrating to put on each day. I know it may last forever, but the clip together belts are SO much nicer and worth replacing your current setup with. That is… If your department lets you.

I've been looking at these videos quite a bit, I am getting ready to move on from my current position as a casino security officer to working DPS for a neighboring tribe. I'm starting to think about putting together my own duty belt and am looking for suggestions i know at the end of the day it's all up to me where my equipment will be, but i still love seeing other peoples setups.

I use 1/2" Velcro strips on the back of my gear keeping it in place. It makes it not move when hanging in the closet. And when you wear it, your gear stays exactly where you want it. Of course it only works on the 2 part Velcro duty belts.

My duty belt is an off brand 2 inch ballistic nylon belt. 3 sets of cuffs all hinged. (ASP, Peerless, S&W). 3 matching Safariland STX tactical closed cuff cases. Radio holder is Safariland STX tactical. A Peacekeeper 21 inch expandable baton with Peacekeeper molded swivel holder. Off brand rechargeable flash light and holder. I work daytime so flashlight isn't an issue for me. Multi tool and hand sanitizer is also on my belt. My duty weapon is currently an XD9 Mod 2 Service with TLR1. 3 extra magazines secured with a Safariland Mid Ride Duty Holster also STX tactical finish.

It looks like you have more sense than the casino. Is the casino thinking that someone might steal your magazine and shoot someone with it? 😂 . I get it. I work for a casino and we could not carry a PR-24 - only an ASP because it looks more friendly 🤦🏽‍♂️

In my view, covered mag holders are a + because they reduce-avoid issues like grit, crud, dust, rain-sweat, etc. I can see why police, armed officers wear open style mag holders but I'd be fine with button type flaps. PS- velcro can & WILL wear, get dust-lint all over. Button style are ✅️.

Some of the soft armor carriers have rapid insert capabilities for hard harbor plates. The carrier I showed you briefly has the insert capability. I don’t own Level IV but if I did It would take me about 7 seconds or less to put on.
