Older models of these have been used in Istanbul for about 17 years. Despite being this old, I've never seen them cause any problems, although it's a pity that it will be scrapped next year. A bus that has proven its longevity all over the world. Mercedes does this job very well.

They could have sell them to someone would take care of them. A working machines deserve better. They can be turned into RV or other purposes

@@multiomer1997Yep; otokar kent XL; they’re not as bad as we thought they would be, but nothing compared to the citaros we had. Kudos to mercedes for making such a durable machine!

@@ThatRandomTurk we had them too, like 80 pieces. you could saw them everywhere. seats were comfy and the klima was soo good, like outside was 40 degrees inside was 20 degrees. Nowadays like 10-15 pieces left. the rest are exported to polland, oekraine or romania.

Un vídeo muy interesante, uno de mis favoritos. Muy bien, Mercedes-Benz. Aunque este spot sea antiguo está claro que el Citaro ha sido y es uno de los mejores autobuses urbanos.

You have to say that Mercedes-Benz make great buses. Here in my home state of New South Wales, Australia the state government has purchased Mercedes buses, and they are a pleasure to travel in, they are smooth and very comfortable.

RedLight GreenArrow The MTA received one of these buses on loan from Mercedes-Benz in 2008. It was tested in New York for 30 days and was returned.

Bellissimo mezzo di qualità, casualmente ho avuto l'occasione di provarlo, mi è sembrato di guidare una berlina di lusso, anche il precedente Citaro dopo anni di servizio è sempre un ottima macchina. Complimenti Mercedes-benz

Mercedes, once when I was a student about to get off the bus my bag strap was wedged in between the gaps of two seats in your Citaro. I had a hard time yanking it out and had to press the stopping bell 3 times to tell the driver to wait. Thankfully a kind commuter helped me yank the bag strap out.

Singapore has one of this Citaro C2 bus model on loan from Mercedes' local dealer on trial on public bus service. I got to try riding on that one one of these days before its trial is over. As an aside we have over 1000 of the older Citaro bus models already on public bus service here, and I have rode them like over 9000 times already. :P

That unit in Singapore i understand is a hybrid diesel-electric version ? So what happened to it later...re-exported or continue to normal use in Singapore ? Anyway, i expect full electric Citaro rigid &/or Citaro G be available in Singapore in the future ? Having sampled the Chinese Yutong & BYD in use, overall i don't find them as satisfactory to expectations so certainly there's room for another player even in a small market like Singapore as far as i'm concerned !

I'm a bus driver and out of MAN, Mercedes and Solaris... Mercedes win by miles! Passenger comfort in city buses is ok-ish, you can't expect a premium experience in a city bus... You're only there for a few stops. But the driver has to be there all day, so some comfort is a must. And the Citaro is the most comfortable bus and with the nicest feeling cockpit. Solaris and MAN feel cheap and very plasticy, but Mercedes and Setra buses (also a Daimler company) feel nicer and more high quality.

Ich finde den neuen citaro einfach nur sau geil.bei uns fahren seit knapp ende der Sommer Ferien 2014 die neuen euro 6 mit 5 Gelenk und ca.10 solo wagen auch zwei euro 5 wagen sind bei uns auch am fahren ich muss sagen bester bus citaro

netter bus, bin ich schon in wuppertal mitgefahren (als fahrgast) er sieht von innen genau so aus wie der vorgänger. man sieht als fahrgast keinen unterschied im innenraum.

Und, was sagt uns das Video bei 1:12 ? Voith ist schrott, wenn in so nem sauberen Werbevideo mit guter solider ZF-Technik gearbeitet wird. Hey Mercedes-Benz-Omnibus-Team: Könnt Ihr dauerhaft ZF einbauen? Ich mein das ist der volle Fahrspaß für den Fahrer, der volle Spaß für die Fahrgäste (weil se vorwärtskommen), und v.a. für den Betrieb, da wenig Kosten, wenig lästernde Fahrgäste, zufrieden Fahrer. => ZF bitte :)
