For clarification, my role is more similar to a school-based therapist, however, I am a licensed social worker and do social work-related tasks. Just wanted to provide some clarity as I've been told that school social workers have a slightly different role than school-based therapists. Either way, if you have a desire to go into the field of school social work, I believe this video will still help you. I hope this helps!

Hi! I love your videos so much! I'm just starting my journey to hopefully becoming a school social worker. Do you have advice on what I need to study and what the best route to take is to start the BSW program? I'm just a bit confused with how you get into it? Do people study sociology and then you can apply? Any insight helps so much. Thank you!

How can you remember everything if you don’t do documentation during the session? I understand wanting to be fully present but I also want to include every detail as possible. I’m in my MSW program now and start foundational field in August. ❤

@@tiarashakel Great question! What may help is to take a mental note of significant details of the session (i.e.) what mood the client was in, how he/she presented, interventions used, how the client responded. You don’t need to document word for word everything that happened in the session. Yay!! Love that for you.
