I love the “since I don’t have to do it, I kind of wanted to do it” comment. That is so true of so many things in education. When schools want you to incorporate new ideas they want it immediately and perfectly, but teachers are thinkers and want to have more time to process new ideas before they are onboard.

Hi Teacher, I want to say Thank you so much for sharing this video with us and I really appreciate all the hard working. All the caring and organizing the kids always takes times beside your paper works and I know sometimes you feel that you don't take it anymore but that kinda feeling didn't last long until that day you watch those beautiful creatures graduated and trust me you gonna be proud of them for every single word you've taught it to all of them cause I know exactly what's that feeling. Keep going my lady and i sure you gonna feel that sooner than you think.

I think kids universally enjoy doing stations, no matter the age. My little Firsties like being able to move around and do different activities. I love that it allows them to work together and learn how to compromise to get things done. I am a BIG fan of stations! They are a lot of work, but I feel like you can get a BIG payoff. It's a great time to observe how they are working. I think a lot of upper grade teachers may not realize that kids get taller and older, but many enjoy some of the same things that the younger kids do, they just aren't given the opportunities. The little duck race was so cute! The students looked like they were enjoying their rotations. I love seeing Jenson's cute little face! He's such a doll! Your soup looked wonderful! Love and hugs, sweet lady!

You really do remind me of my 6th grade history teacher/ homeroom teacher she had her class all colorful and bright with rainbow colors (because that’s her favorite color. She had us pick like one rectangle piece of paper that are different colors and that would separate us into groups. (She was one of my favorite teachers and she like a lot of my projects cause they were very colorful.)

it's interesting to hear how things work in schools in the US. I live in New Zealand and we try our hardest to steer away from multichoice tests throughout schooling until university/college where they are sometimed, not often, used.
@SpiritWolf209
@SpiritWolf209 Год назад
To be fair it really depends where in the US you are. There can be a lot of difference between states or even districts within the state. In my area, multiple choice is common for lower grades but we start moving away from it (especially in a History class) around upper middle school and high school. In University (I majored in History) I don't think I did any multiple choice tests outside of math classes.

I thing what you could have done is have the history station stuff in a small basket on the desks where you wanted them. Then when class is over ask one English student near the station baskets to set it up or pull it out. that way it is ready and you can get other things going. then tomorrow bring in suckers or cupcakes or have a tech time reward that Friday. Hope that helps for next time.

You are so inspiring! I am teaching history 6-7 this year and math 7-8 in Sacramento county (class sizes get up to 32/34). I know, it's weird, but I'm taking on the challenge. You're organization and planning tips have helped me a lot with timing lessons for middle school content, I'm switching from a high school to middle school position this year and was looking for some more learning environment inspiration and found it on your channel! Keep up the good work, message me if your ever in doubts of having an impact. :) Thanks, Rachelle P.s. I'm planning on using mystery hangouts this spring thanks to your channel! Also, I was wondering if you ever feel like doing a Q & A, if you might explain the process you went to for recording student work and posting social media content for your school site, I would love to share my career in the future and am curious about the process. Thanks!

Where did you get the different colored bracelets? They sound like a great idea for collaborative grouping. I love "pay attention with your face". Awesome attention getter. How do you use Lucid Press? I went to the website, and it was somewhat intimidating. I just received my Temporary Certificate to teach elementary school, and I am so excited to start this journey! 😀 God just keeps on blessing! 😀 Even though I want to teach elementary school, I learn so much from you. You inspire me to be the teacher I want to be for my students! 😀

I looooove doing stations. Takes a bunch of front hand but love the free time. Do you still have issues with kids switching? I implemented heterogeneous stations. Where each round is a different group. Each kid gets a number with the station order on it and each order is different. ABCDE, ACBDE... also i like the standard on the board with the work. Do you write the lesson on the standard wall?
