A day in the van with my greyhound in Cornwall ✌️

Today I’m hanging in the van with Miss Nancy the greyhound and going on an epic walk from Botallack on the Penwith Pensinsula of Cornwall down the Kenidjack Valley to Cape Cornwall along the South West coasta path. The mining ruins and coastal scenery are incredible, this is one of the favourite walks I have ever done! We also did some work and cooking in the van with an amazing view.

Hey, great content, never give up! It's taken massive guts to do what you're doing, you'll get there and it'll be worth it. Obviously you're just starting out but it's always clear when a new youtuber has got "the nack" and you definitely have. Good luck with it all.

Thank you I really appreciate that! I haven’t found it easy being in front of the camera , the whole thing is a massive learning curve but it is certainly interesting! Hope I can just keep improving with each video.

Bryson, Pratchett and Dawkins. 3 of my favourite authors, and of course Africa, on the southern tip of which I live. Greyhounds, contrary to popular belief are notoriously lazy and chilled dogs. They can sleep happily for 18 hours a day and are perfectly suited to living in small places. But be prepared to make way for them on your furniture, they love comfy spots!

it’s true I actually got Nancy when I was living in a flat, and she was perfectly cosy! of course you do need to find somewhere for them to run around sometimes, but I think they can make any living place work as long as they have a warm cosy bed or three…or your sofa!

I live in Devon and know Cornwall quite well and if it ever stops raining I would like to visit this for myself,is this near Penzance please.

I’m not sure if it’s ever going to stop raining! Although I found the wind was even worse 😅 yes it’s about 20 mins from Penzance, out on the Penwith peninsula just past St Just, we walked from Botallack mine along coast and down Kenidjack Valley

Well your video popped up 👍🏻🚐🐾 so I watched 👍🏻🚐🐾 and how lovely 😊 I live in Devon with my dog 🐾 and explore Devon / Cornwall mostly - with a friend who also has a van and dogs - it was a pleasure to watch 😊 though I agree about leads on the coast path - be careful x now to catching up on the series and await future trips/videos for ideas

Thank you 🤗 I will definitely be more careful with miss Nancy I wouldn’t forgive myself if something happened to her. Although tbh I fear for her anytime she is off the lead. Loved your fabulous five explore. There is something meditative about long walks out in nature. Like you I would love to do an explore with and wild camp. I camped in the forest last year and it was a great experience, but it was on a wild campsite, you can see it on the channel. I am planning to do the South Downs way, so maybe then? Keep up with the great content

Top tip on the doggy poo, kick it into the hedge or side, its fully biodegradable, its the TV tells everyone to put it in a plastic bag, another directive. Rabbit poo is really good for dogs, its like a super probiotic way better than grass that helps their gut bio, i was a bit disturbed by them eating it then i looked into it, its natures best medicine.

We follow leave no trace ethics so as I have yet to train Miss Nancy to dig an 8 inch hole far enough away from water, I always take home her poops and any other rubbish generated 😂 That’s good news about the rabbit poo though, she does find it a delicacy. I guess it’s the least grim of the things she tries to eat 🫣

OMG please please please put Miss Nancy on a lead - so many dogs die by falling from cliffs in the South West Peninsular - I have a greyhound and I love him and I can see how loved ms Nancy is- they can’t see the edge and you know what greys are like ‘45 miles an hour in 4 strides ‘ she is beautiful by the way xxxx❤

I will try to be more careful I can see there’s a bit here she should have been on the lead 😳 I promise I often do if we are near a cliff edge or tricky bit, I just don’t film it so much! I thought I was being paranoid though so I appreciate this and thank you she is 😍 xxx

I'm sure you aware, but just in case be very wary of adders. We live in this area and recently lost a puppy to an adder. Adders can be more venomous in the spring when they come out of hibernation.

The stunningly good YT algorithm recommend your vid, Tori - it seems to work right from the off 🚀 Cornwall is beautiful and you caught the weather 🌄 Thank you for rescuing Nancy and the others 💜 I'm a former rescue centre volunteer. Your supressed feelings were good - best keep her on a lead as the coast and Cornwall are dangerous - all it takes is her to launch after a rabbit. Try a 2m Halti lead or long line, but never an extendible or she'll snatch it out of your hand or it'll break - 6 strides to 30mph or summat, isn't it ?! Love the diagonal paneling! You're a natural communicator and creative - thanks for sharing 😊 Congrats on 800 subs. I spoiled it and made it 801.

Very happy you found us ☺️ I hope to be able to volunteer at a rescue one day that’s so good, or get more rescue animals. I do my best to keep her safe you’re right accidents can happen and it doesn’t take much, I just try to give her freedom where I can as well. I did try a long lead once and it wrapped around her leg and cut her, they are just so fast! So I stick with the shorter ones now. Beaches are the best! ♥️

England! It is a pretty beautiful country with a Lot of old stuff which I like 😀 however it also rains a ton and is cold and grey in the winter! I’m sure South Africa is beautiful also, I’ve never been

great footage, but please keep your dog on a lead on the cliffs, In 2020, the RNLI had 57 lifeboat launches related to dog incidents. That same year, 124 dog walking incidents were attended by lifeguards. All it takes is a momentary distracton and your best friend could be lost forever.

Is that the dog, the SUV or both. I'm allergic to dogs so there's no hope for us I suppose. My only remaining hope is to get some exposure in the US and right now my publicist over there has gone off on holiday with my money.@@missnancysdayoff
