We're very fortunate that sane, patriotic people turned out in huge numbers to win the 2020 election for democracy. We're seeing that movement continue through the mid-terms as well, as the widely reported "red wave" didn't show up. Hopefully, the defenders of democracy will be able to hold on to win one of the houses, but if not, democracy has still won another day. Stay strong, patriots!

I'm a lifelong independent, and in my view Biden's policies had virtually zero impact on all this. This mess could have been better addressed by Trump, but his 2017 tax giveaway to the vety rich was unfunded and put $2 trillion directly onto the national debt, while his promise to re-build U.S. manufacturing was completely forgotten and we had record store and plant closings in 2018, followed by another record in 2019. Throughout his term we also had record trade and budget deficits, which he promised to eliminate, and during 2020, his final year, we had five consecutive month of record trade deficits with China. This is the mess he left Biden. I think most Americans realize that and that's why the "red wave" never really materialized.

One thing I found strange about this election was that the Republicans kept talking about the economy and inflation but not the how. You’re going to fix the economy? How? Via what policies and plans do the Republicans plan to fix the economy. We heard all about the economy and inflation from the Republicans, but not about their plan to fix these things. I suspect they either don’t have a plan or their plan is bad enough that it would lose them votes if they shared it.

Actually it was gen-z who voted in droves for the dems who decided the election. There were some percentage of women who voted for dems for abortion issue but not enough to make a difference since that demographic were democrats always.
Senator Cortez-Masto is awesome. Super-energetic, joyful, intelligent, thoughtful, speaks very well and has a listenable voice. Met her a few times, an ideal politician.
@@saraleigh5336 I'm near Elko, and NV is a "purple" state, so all the presidential, etc. candidates come here and speak in front of small groups or come to picnics, etc. I'm involved with wildlife and wilderness issues so I go to meetings where bigwigs come talk, too.
