That getting out of driveway with the generator was stressful to watch, you two did amazing job getting it done safely. Also i like the make shift way to get on top of generator to remove the snow. Just dont let your safety department watch the video. Lol. Safe travels.

Brings back a memory seeing the divider on the 401. Driving a box truck back to Toronto from Peterborough at 1 am and I literally stopped beside the divider and got out of the truck. Had to tell the the O.P.P. why, I had been on the go since 4 am and was starting to fall asleep, getting out and waking up enough to get home safely was more important than following the law and not stopping there.

a few tight turns getting into that first site and yes that is a big Wajax Genset. That size would have a big MTU diesel for power. Now talk about threading a needle, getting the second out took amazing skill. Sure showed to me you are a true professional driver !! That company Vibra-Sil manufactures the enclosure the Genset is in.

🥶🥶 Hi Doug, I am old school road runner, now fully retired. I used to run the routes from Quebec to London and down into NYS and lived up there for about 6 years pulling loads out of NY City. My home. Summer, or winter, I loved working the roads year round, back in the late 1970's. Kind of miss it, but things are not the same as it was back in the day. Love what you and your crews do. Keep up the Safe and great work and videos. 70 yr young retired road runner. 👍✌

Hello Doug , you’ll likely recall my name as a subscriber and retired oversized driver previously commenting on your content. Recently I find myself recovering from a major injury that required surgery. I’ll be in recovery and physiotherapy for 6-9 months but your videos definitely help to keep me connected with the sights and sounds of trucking. Almost therapeutic , so again thanks very much for all the effort you put into your videos and content.

Nothing like threading a needle. I had to bring a Komatsu 375 from the back of the Savanah yard with the main trailer neck folded out but without the jeep once. The air gauge on the drives was past bottomed out with the 4th axle down. Stay warm, unseasonably warm down here in Lafayette, IN. Have a good day.

I often wonder why companies that make such big items always seem to have such small entry/exits. Whether it's driveways or roller doors. Surely if your company has the skill to make such things the bosses would have the foresight to create easier entry/exits.

Curious ….ive asked this question to others but never got a reply. Why do most regular trailers in Canada and many parts of upper New England have 3 axles….whereas most everything down in the lower 48 have 2…??? Super professional job trucker by the way
@luckybananaheavyhaul3407
@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 5 месяцев назад
Unfortunately every state and province has different weight regulations. The southern states try to protect their infrastructure a little more so they generally don’t allow trucks to carry as much weight. Some northern states such as Michigan go extremely the opposite and allow just about as many axles as you can fit under the trailer!

Hello, I very much appreciate your channel and the effort it takes to do your job & get these videos out. This past Wednesday Dec 13 2023 I saw 3 Bellemare units between Carleton Place and Ottawa, westbound on Hwy 7. Does Bellemare sometimes use other pilot / escort companies as well as their own?
@luckybananaheavyhaul3407
@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 7 месяцев назад
Yes, when we have too many projects going at the same time we subcontract escorts. Carleton Place is on the “heigh load” detour route around Ottawa to avoid the underpasses on 417. From Carleton Place we take hwy 29 to Arnprior.

Do you use less air pressure on drop axle when in snow for traction.
@luckybananaheavyhaul3407
@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 7 месяцев назад
Less air no. I have a switch to lift it completely but because this setup is on the rear or the truck opposed to most heavy haul trucks with the drop axle in the center it reduces steering when lifted. I can get all kinds of straight line traction but less steering.

i have no idea of heavy hauling "goods" but im noticed that the length of the haul plays a big roll in this buisness? (more a question then a statement) why are you using the american style of trucks with the "long" snout instead of an european style truck (cab overs) ? im asuming european trucks are shorter by the way
@luckybananaheavyhaul3407
@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 7 месяцев назад
I don’t have a good answer for that. Because we like to be different! 30 years ago there were a lot more cabovers on the road in North America. But now they are very rare.

@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 USA (and Canada through their association) changed the trucking laws [sometime in the late 70s - early 80s] from a maximum total length to trailer length which phased out the cabovers due to fuel economy, noise, comfort, etc. In NA, our roads are generally wider than the EU too - but not always.
