I've had a Ruger Standard for about 40 years, has 1'000's of plinking rounds through it, it's a favorite fun gun. Then I found a new old stock Ruger Mk 2 Competition target, had problems with feeding, so I striped all mags & polished everything & it's now a great shooter. THEN I found a mint 80's vintage S&W Model 41 that had about 2 mags of fire. I tried going back to the Mk 2, it's a great gun but it's just not as nice as my 41. All are factory stock with no known mods. Would I give up my Rugers....NO WAY Many Thanks for your Video!!!
Hello to Dave..!! Yes these are great 22 handguns. I have an old Mark I Target that I used for a lot of 25 yard one hand target work back in the late 60s. Then I wound up scope sighting it for ground squirrel shooting in the dry creek beds up in Williams, CA back in the early 70s - great gun. If the ranges were past 25 yards, my buddy would take the shot with a M39 Marlin. Still have that gun with the Leupold scope on it - don't shoot it much anymore as I have other 22 pistols. Nice video, Dave.... Steve
I love the Mark 2's and the 2245 Ruger's. I can't tell you how many I have sold in the 4 years I was in firearms sales. I like the older models of the Ruger's. The 3 screw single actions. I had several of them back in the day. I would get really good deals on used firearms when I worked at the gun store/range.
I have a 1970ish pre A-100 frame (A-54 old magazine) Standard 6” fixed sight that I used for Rimfire Challenge. I was referred to as “That guy with the old ‘Mark One’ and Remington 572 pump”. Sometimes I’d get fast time and take their money.
