It is probably some kind of remaster from years ago. But I would like to see it enhanced & video-sharpened with todays A.I., which would make it even look better than just a traditional remaster, to see if it gets any sharper. And then it would look like this live performance only happened a few years ago. A traditional remaster would still leave that old film & VHS chromatic look to it, but A.I. could possibly remove/reduce it, perhaps. 08/04/24
Man I was around 20 years old when this song came out and it really gets me in touch with some nice memories. I think that a lot of us feel so fortunate to have lived in the 70's and 80's with so many awesome bands and we were spoiled. These days it's only a tiny fraction of today's music that interests me.
More than any other 80's band there is something about A Flock of Seagulls that takes you right back to that High School Dance, that First Kiss and that First Cool Song. Good Stuff!
His hair style changed! I guess it was too hard to maintain. Good song ! Paul Reynolds partied so much when they toured that he had to quit! He almost died. Then he suffered a stroke later and I don’t think he even plays anymore. But he’s one of my favorite guitarists. He had such a futuristic echo guitar sound that I really enjoyed. The best example of which is I Ran! Brilliant sounds!
There was a lot going on with Paul. He was under a lot of stress from constantly touring (and Mike allegedly bullying the hell out of him), that he turned to alcohol & drugs to try to cope. It got to the point he was physically & mentally exhausted from everything (the touring, the partying) and he would break down & cry from exhaustion after shows… and all he basically got in response was “grow up”. His bandmates knew he was struggling but gave him zero support. Paul started having panic attacks onstage and didn’t want to tour anymore… plus he knew he was basically drinking himself to death, so he quit. He suffered a nervous breakdown after he returned home to Liverpool & said he could barely function for awhile. But he did say leaving the band was one of the best things that happened to him because he knew if he had carried on the way he had, he probably wouldn’t be here now. But yeah he did suffer a stroke in early 2020, but I have heard he’s been doing better. Poor guy has been through so much and I really feel for him.
@AJ17_ Mike comes off as an ass. In recent interviews he tries to pretend like he cared about Paul and sorry he was suffering but I bet you money he wasn't concerned back then. Paul was a kid when he joined and there are few people that can doing 100+ gigs back-to-back without it having some sort of adverse effect. I definitely think that Mike was the main problem. He treated his brother like crap and Paul.
@@AJ17_honestly wouldn’t surprise me if Mike was bullying him. He certainly has all the ego and probably got mad that they spoke more about Paul’s guitar skill at his young age than Mike. Still, Paul really went through so much.
@@JWF78 Mike is a complete narcissist, ego maniac & control freak. He bullied the hell out of everyone in that band and played all sorts of mind games. He effed up 3 totally innocent guys and has zero remorse about it. Mike was very jealous of Paul's talent and always tried to drown him out in the mix at live shows. So stupid because that guitar carried the band and was their moneymaker.
@@Briannas_busted_Benz_shocks He's beyond an ass. He doesn't give a shit about Paul... then or now. I know this. He loves throwing Reno under the bus every chance he gets. And it makes me so freaking angry. Mike and his ego was absolutely the root of all the drama in that band. He started every single fight, but would always try to pass the blame onto the other guys. Effing narcissist.
This song (and the album it’s from, “The Story of a Young Heart”), is about a childhood friend of Mike Score who sadly committed suicide when they were teens. 😢
@@farmyardflavoursHe sure is! That's what he said about us girls, "You girls are so cute," in a sweet, wholesome, brotherly way. We got a great picture with him. We were like 18-20, around 1990. Alice Cooper, David Cassidy, and pop band Linear were there, too.
You never give your heart to a stranger Or tell your secrets to a friend You'll put your heart in mortal danger They all desert you in the end The more you live the more you love Or so they say The more you love the more you throw away They say that nothing lasts forever And even true love turns to pain Don't trust your feelings to a stranger Don't want to go through this again The more you live the more you love Or so they say The more you love the more you throw away The more you live the more you love Or so they say The more you love the more you throw away Don't never give your heart to a stranger Don't ever think that you can go on You'll put your heart in mortal danger Turn around and love is gone The more you live the more you love Or so they say The more you love the more you throw away The more you live the more you love Or so they say The more you love the more you throw away The more you live the more you love Or so they say The more you love the more you throw away
