Such a fun good playing series but man is it the toughest series. When I was young and I thought I beat Ghouls N Ghosts on Genesis only to have to redo everything again was insane. I put it down for almost 30 years. Great video

I've spent the last year or so trying to beat Super Ghouls n' Ghosts at a local retrogame bar with some guys from work. Even here in Japan, this series is legendary for being punishingly hard. I've found it's best enjoyed while drinking with friends.

Very fun episode. I played this later in life and never tried to grind it out when I was younger. I never owned any of these games until about five years ago. I always put these games in the "this one is not meant to be beaten" pile. Like a lot of shooters and etc.

Yeah. This game caused my mom to go out and buy new controllers for quite a few times. Lord knows how many throughout all game though..lol.

Last year I set up a challenge for myself. I wanted to beat Chosts 'n Goblins in the month of october. I got pretty good through stages 1-4 but damm that Stage 5.... I really wanna beat at least one of the games in the series. I think I will try Ghouls 'n Ghosts. It's also part of Capcom Arcade Stadium 1.

That was the fake-out ending you always get the first time you win. If you play the entire game a second time and beat the last boss, the room doesn't vanish and you actually get to save the princess this time.
