I really love your singing (and your fiber crafts as well of course!). I’m a chronic ill woman from the Netherlands and I just found your podcast because I’ve gone deep into spinning and it brings me joy. I’m mostly at home and finding connections online, so thank you.

I love that you found an open knitting group at your LYS to join. I moved to where I am a year ago and quickly plugged into my LYS open knitting group and have made great friends that I’ve gone to fiber festivals and textile shows. I hope to be joining one of the ladies for snow shoeing. Tuesday night we’re gathering for our Christmas party. I could watch you spin for hours and one if these days I will start spinning myself. Thank you for your videos. Merry Christmas.

Peaches is precious and quite a lucky dog to get a hand spun hand knit sweater. Your spinning is so beautiful. You seem quite brave to even be recording videos and sending them out to the world. I admire that, as I have often thought about doing the same, but am too afraid. I hope you will really enjoy the knitting group. And from your last video, I would be thrilled to see stash in your stash room. You could probably guess that there are many of us just like you with such an abundance of fiber, yarn and all the goodies that keep us planning and creating, nothing at all to be embarrassed about. Sounds like a room of treasures. A little about me, about your age, living in Breckenridge, CO. My husband is a retired architect and I am a homemaker with a background in fine arts (painting and drawing). I love all sorts of crafts and try to do them all. Lisa, thank you.

What a lovely outro! So you not only play well, you also sing :o) I can almost picture you sitting at that gathering you have mentioned, all knitting, some tea on the table, may be a fire in the stove, and singing away :o) that is what people in the villages of my region used to do in winter - it feels so like coming back to the roots :o) you can also take turns in reading, like we used to at my granny´s when I was little. Have a nice winter holidays, all the best to you and your close ones! And btw - I also vote for the ginger socks🧦

Hi Lisa, cute socks! I vote gold. It was easy to see your heart looked happy when you showed them☺️. I highly recommend the Toni Cardigan from Cocoknits. She does have a book. But you can buy this one separate. The pattern along with her tutorials would be enough. Her patterns have an amazing fit. Everything I have made feels custom fit for me. The process is fun and seamless. Yes on your hand spun poncho! It will be gorgeous 🎄

Your current projects are so lovely! I am cheering you on from my home in London, UK, as I am so glad to see you knitting and planning and knitting projects with your beautiful hand spun yarn. That red of your Felix cardigan is just the most beautiful colour. I almost cheered out loud when you revealed your plan of spinning a Black Welsh Mountain wool cardigan. BWM is my all time favourite fiber to spin and knit with, and I love how it works in combination with other colours. I too have a sweater quantity of BWM waiting to be spun up. I'd love to join you on a BWM spin to knitalong! Loved your ideas about the hot Cocoa socks, I have few too many gift projects I want to finish before Christmas, or I would have joined you. Thanks for your podcast, always so inspiring!

I like the ginger skein with the mint and lipstick colourways it will make gorgeous socks. I have also recently mastered the tubular sewn bind off, following Andrea Mowry written instruction for the Stonecrop cardigan. Well I say mastered but I ended up binding off the button bands in pattern because the sewn method was too tight. But I like the end result and my contrast colour was handspun. I hope you make some good friends at the knit group, I go to a spin/ knit group once a week and love bouncing ideas with the people there.

I admire your dedication to the icord sewn bind off. I have to admit I did not persevere on it after watching a couple different tutorials and being totally confused. Hi Lisa, I am retiring from teaching this coming June, and at this point, I have been craving alone time to create for a number of years as I wind down my career, perhaps it is that mental shift from work to retirement kicking in, or something, but I do think about the fall coming up, as my colleagues return to work, and I am home every day, that I do wonder about that social piece! I do plan on rejoining my weavers guild, and spinners guild, which I stopped doing during Covid, so am hoping to reconnect. It sounds like you will enjoy your knitting group! I was also part of one before Covid, and am looking forward to rejoining that as well, and starting to expand my social circles around craft once again. Right now, I just go to work, then collapse at the end of my day, once I get home! Enjoy your winter, find peace in your crafting, and many new friends to knit with in your newly found group!

Hello my friend! So good to see you. I love a tubular cast on, but not so good at the bind off lol. Maybe you already know that, but thought I would mention it Have to love Corriedale ❤

For the bind off 1/1 rib you can put the stitches on two needles. One needle for the knit stitches and one for the purls. It's like grafting the toe of a sock.

Another enjoyable episode! I knitted a red sweater for a small black and white dog we got 1 week before our first son was born.... not good timing, but it is cute! It has a turtleneck and cables down the back... still have it somewhere (?), but our new black puppy will be a bit larger than that first pup. So i knit another one last month, same pattern, just using yarn that is a bit larger.

Thank you for the soulful interlude. It's always a joy to see what you're doing and how you are doing it. I always say, there's only so much reading about one's craft in books and watching instructional youtubes one can do, but there comes a time when you just have to actually try it out and learn by handling tools and fiber. Lovely episode! Being home full time with my 1 yr old grandson, I find myself quite isolated. I’m worried I’m liking it too much. I really have to force myself to connect. Lots of inner reflection this month. I have a once a month knitters spinners etc group that meets and I absolutely adore it. I just wish it met more often. If I have to miss one it’s long time till the next. I’ve always had a ton of family so not all that many close friends. My neighborhood is small, with my next door neighbor being my sister in law. Evidently they have been getting together lately doing Christmas crafts….but I haven’t been invited…so…yeah, this time of year is hard.

oh Lisa your voice is just lovely, please always sing. thank you for keeping it real. since you asked: the cashmere might make a nice cozy undershirt/lacy tank top? not sure what the yarn weight is but I always prefer cashmere next to skin, and without sleeves a form fitting top should fit the yardage. my 2 cents. I love your stash dives, time to pull out the treasures. I also deeply appreciate the raw fleece to garment segment of knitting culture, for so many reasons. ps. the mini skeins with the white handspun yarn!!! would also make a lovely alden by jennifer steingass (read any colorwork fade in fingering weight) if you are feeling a sweater, though the shawl will be just as lovely im sure! chefs kiss to all of it and big hugs to you.

while I mostly listen but glance up now and then when your showing goodies I've been spinning fleece I washed, picked and carded, actually my first of three partial fleeces I think washing is best done in summer :D I don't see a pole for your socks but I can see several ways you can use all the colors :) stripe the red, green and gold with white/grey ( not sure what color the light yarn is even if you mentioned it I forgot sorry ) for cuff, heal and toe , use the light yarn for the body of the sock and the three colors for top back and front that is cuff heal and toe ;) so many options for a festive foot wear :D have fun thanks for sharing.

Oh, Lisa, those doggy sweaters from Stephen West are gorgeous, so gorgeous in fact that I nipped over to Ravelry to buy the striped one and also came away with patterns for the Glittering Snowscape shawl and The Dustland hat, the latter having Gansey-like texture in a semi-slouch hat. Lovely! Thanks so much for sharing these beautiful patterns and their sources. Your Felix sweater is so beautiful! And what a lovely rich colour! I’m thinking I’ll make some of the doggy sweaters as lamb sweaters for a shepherdess I watch. Your Peaches looks quite similar to our Seamus, but a bit taller. Seamus was soooo loved that even after 5 years, we’ve not had the heart to replace him. So, I thank you for giving me a much-loved puppy-dog fix in each of your vlogs :-) Yours in gratitude
