This film is way better then it has any right to be. It has a good message, the humour is pretty good and the animation is GORGEOUS.

Even though this movie is clearly not for me, I can’t lie…this looks genuinely adorable

Kudos to Keith Chapman. He’s got one heck of a talent for making TWO incredibly successful kid franchises.

I didn't find Liberty annoying in the slightest. She was honestly my favorite character in this movie.

This could be potentially be one of the best films based on a preschool show since Sesame Street: Follow that bird. I really love how the animation stays true to the show. I’m not a paw patrol fan either but my younger brothers enjoy the show though

Out of pure curiosity, I saw bits and pieces of Paw Patrol on Nickelodeon and its honestly a kiddy show made for kindergarteners and yet, I can't hate it because unlike Barney the Dinosaur or Caillou, it doesn't feel too dumbed down to where it feels like you're gonna rip your hair out so it's nice the show is enjoyable for kids and their parents and I'm glad the film is also the same way as well. It may not be a masterpiece but little kids and their parents are have fun with this.

Kinda ironic that this 'kids movie' got a fairly good review from a guy that once stated that "You shouldn't make an animated film just for kids". But seriously, it is nice that you gave this movie a well-received opinion.

Even if the PAW Patrol movie's target demographic is children, it still has a similar appeal for moviegoers over 5 to enjoy, in the likes of "Clifford's Really Big Movie" and "Curious George". Also, I'd take this film over Dreamworks' mediocre pieces of animation the company released this summer. So, for me, 7/10 for giving me 80 minutes of a good time.

The best part was Chase’s trauma subplot. Was definitely not expecting something like that.

When I saw the first trailer, I thought to myself: "really? This is getting a movie?" Then again, Viacom has been milking their most popular shows recently, so I'm not surprised.

Ryder manages an entire rescue department, handles its financing, and can even drive. And by the way he’s only 10 years old. So maybe it’s about time you moved out of your mother’s basement. :p

The way to analyze kids media, if you're an adult, is to ask two questions, "Do you like it personally?" and "Do you approve of it being shown to kids?" Paw Patrol also gets a yes to both questions from me.

Watching a movie alone is only awkward if you make it awkward. I'm 26 and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It's a fun ride with dark and emotional moments, and the score is fantastic. I had a smile on my face pretty much the entire time.

So I’ll admit, the story isn’t groundbreaking and obviously isn’t perfect but in comparison to what they do in the normal episodes in the series where it’s just a simple 12 minute, someone does something stupid or just bad conditions like weather causes a problem and it’s solved within 5 minutes and the last 2-3 minutes is just “well done” or the 23 minute specials aren’t anything good either cause they just feel stretched out for no reason and don’t really have any real interest to watch all the way through, and the TV movies which really only give one pup out of the entire team to shine, the movie plot is actually quite interesting and to me quite nice to learn as it’s unlike anything the series had done before. I’ll admit I may be biased by saying this being a fan of the show for 8 years now, but I do still feel like the plot/story in this excels compared to what the series does.

12:56 I know this is for toddlers but I guess it's safe to say that the mayor is probably what Radcliffe from Pocahontas(1995) lacked as he is also a stereotypical villian without the depth or redeeming qualities that a lot of animated villains have

I read the title and wondered “does he need us to pray for him?” And given my cousins I’d say yes he does.

I used to volunteer at a preschool for some time, so I got to see a few "Paw Patrol" episodes. From what I remember, it did a solid job explaining to kids how the dogs handle their missions, such as saving beached whales and getting baby sea turtles to the ocean. While I don't have any interest in seeing this movie, I'm glad to hear it's doing decently. Plus, it's good to know that they put some actual effort into a film for little kids, rather than using the target audience as an excuse to make a cheap cash grab.

Say what you want about the series or even the movie you can’t deny that theme song is catchy as hell, even when I’m cleaning theaters it ends up getting stuck in my head

when the tower collapsed i was like "is this paw patrol??? feels more like marvel..." didn't expected to see that much destruction in the movie

I’ve seen Paw Patrol a large amount of times while hanging out with my little brothers, and I’ll just say Hummdinger is as annoying in the show as he is in the movie.

I watched this movie on the day it came out and I like it so much! There is so much more details in the animation. I used to watch the show about 5 years ago. Getting to see Chase's backstory and overcoming his fears was very unexpected and creative. I want Paw Patrol the movie on the best or honorable mentions.

Sure this movie isn’t ground breaking and I can definitely see a lot of people just not care for it, but it’s pretty cute and entertaining for what is is. 7/10.

This movie might be decent, I haven't seen it yet, but I personally find it depressing that they rewrote the show's identity. It had such a distinct tone in Season 1 (subtle, but fun with childlike innocence). I remember loving it as a kid, and I still do. But in mid-Season 2, it became too dense and merchandise-driven. And while I appreciate that the movie has a new team to avoid the same trap, I think it would stand out much more if it was more faithful to the original idea.

The movie was good and it had a great plot. I'm guessing that the film takes place before Season 1 or it's set in alternate timeline, cause they never mentioned Everest and Tracker at all, as they were the first two members of the Paw Patrol, not Liberty. It would be cool if they decided to use the animation from the movie for Season 9. It was more detailed than the TV series, which could use an update after 8 Seasons. Maybe Chickaletta is the true villain of the Paw Patrol, she's been right there with them from the very beginning and maybe she talks. They should do a Paw Patrol Prequel series about how Ryder found each of the pup's and formed the Paw Patrol, and how Mayor Humdinger became the jerk that he is, maybe he was the original mayor of Adventure Bay and tried to change the town. It's time to have 30 minute episode were we finally see the Kitten Catastrophe Crew vs the Paw Patrol.

I have a cousin who's a big fan of the Paw Patrol show. I think he'll enjoy this movie.

I’m quite surprised at how he was pawsitive about the film.

I’m 20 years old and saw this in my birthday in theaters with my siblings and honestly i enjoyed it. I love the friendship between chase and Ryder, the action scenes was actually cool and the animation was great. My siblings hated the movie they give it a 3 or 2/10 but in my opinion I give it a 9 or 8/10.

I'm someone who has watched the show thanks in part to being an uncle to two nieces and...while certainly not marketed to ME...I can't help but find enjoyment in the series, even when they do upgrades for more toys such as Sea Patrol or the Mighty Pups, or Mission Paw. It really says something a character who isn't a regular Paw Patrol member is about to go down the slide and I'm all too happy that when they do, their name gets called out. As for the movie? I liked it; heck, I was surprised it added the emotional backstory for Chase and while I don't expect the show to canonize this at all...it wasn't bad. At least it meant the people behind the scenes were trying to add something to it.

I didn't expect a big epic story for this kind of movie but seeing the clips you can try they are putting effort to fit with the show.

Ah, at last a movie for preschoolers that the parents will be less annoyed with. And that happens a lot.

ElectricDragon505 just to let you know when I found out PAW patrol came out back in 2013, and have continued with more episodes and who knows how many seasons by now. I kind of thought it was like a preschool version of the original mighty Morphin power rangers, I wanted to say power rangers but I pick the original mighty Morphin power rangers. Because those puppies work together as a team, they have amazing vehicles and the vehicles can transform and so forth. I thought it was like the original mighty Morphin power rangers, when they're giant machines transform in a few parts and also collaborated together and transform into the megazord. And at the same time I thought paw patrol was not only like the mighty Morphin power rangers, but I also thought it was almost like another kids show. A kid's action show that is, that came out from the '60s or the '70s called Thunderbirds. That show featured some people as puppets, along with really cool rescue vehicle models. And yes years later at some point in the 2000s there was a Thunderbirds movie, I remembered watching the movie at first and then I watched the show after that and I thought it was all cool. And I can never forget the quote, Thunderbirds are go. So I thought paw patrol also reminded me of the original show and of course the movie of Thunderbirds. So I could say paw patrol kind of reminds me of both mighty Morphin power rangers and Thunderbirds, I'm sure the creator of Bob the builder when he created paw patrol. of course it was cool for him to choose puppies as heroes and so forth, but not only that maybe he was inspired by mighty Morphin power rangers and maybe Thunderbirds. And decided to combine those ideas and do a preschool show with those ideas, that would work and with not too much violence. Because I remembered they were critics criticizing on mighty Morphin power rangers, being too violent for kids and so forth. And I'm sure that the original TV show of Thunderbirds probably got the same criticism. But nonetheless those two shows were popular before paw patrol. So I'm sure the creator of Bob the builder who created paw patrol, might have been inspired by mighty Morphin power rangers and Thunderbirds. And that he wanted to do a show with ideas like that, and to use puppies as heroes and with no too much violence. And at the same time to be educational as well, so that it would work as a preschool children show. And of course since 2013 it was all successful, it became really popular for not only preschool children, but with kids of all ages as well. Just like my Little pony generation 4 before that, and just like my Little pony generation 4. Paw patrol was so popular, that a lot of merchandise and a lot of toys were sold very well, paw patrol is one of the successful preschool children shows of all time. Also became part of the children's international icon, and also I believe it could be part of the pop culture as well, just like other well known preschool children's characters from other preschool kids shows. Such as Thomas the Tank Engine, Gumby, Sesame Street, hello Kitty, you name it 😉👍

To me I just found surprising that it was really a good movie itself, although it's really okay to watch a preschooler movie, some of us still watch things like Follow that Bird, or Barney's Great adventure. Heck I wouldn't be surprised if people are still watching Dora's Lost City of Gold like that's has good comedy even if that is based from something like Dora the explorer! 😂

Kids deserve shows with smarter writing and creativity to help build there minds.

Gotta say, I'm a 32 years old guy, I watched Paw Patrol with my kid for some time now and... I freakin love this movie. It's cute, it's funny, it's self-aware, its just enjoyable as hell. I can't even fully expain what is it, but even watching the opening sequence with the pretty standard Paw Patrol rescue just really warms my heart.

I’m pretty sure my 10 year old self would’ve love this movie, but as a 16 year old, I liked it

I enjoyed the film but I might have enjoyed a little background on the rest of the pups. Didn’t really need Liberty honestly. My biggest issue was that Marshall wasn’t given enough funny lines, that seemed really odd to me.

That sounds more like a democratic politician rather than Republican one.

In the show Ryder also owns a truck stop as well . I went down a paw patrol rabbit hole on vacation. I’m a big fan of theme episodes like ones where there truckers or knights or have super powers.

Ok. Now I need to watch this movie. Although I've been watching the series for a number of years, I wasn't sure if it will be enjoyable at the very least. But after watching this, I'm more eager to check Paw Patrol The Movie out.

Possibly my favourite part of the movie was when Liberty roasted Delores by saying ' You talk a lot of trash for a dog that looks like a toilet brush. '

You probably aren't missing much context from not watching the series as, apart from existence of Humdinger, the creators seem to have very deliberately removed any potential references to events and characters beyond the 1st season. That's not to say there's any real continuity to the series, but Adventure Bay was fleshed out somewhat over 7 seasons. Most egregious offender is probably the Kitten Catastrophe Crew being demoted to common house pets.

Am I the only one that questions the fact that Ryder is like 14 years old and he is running of basically the entire city/towns rescue team. So if mayor Humdinger just wanted to really beat the paw patrol he could just take away Ryder with child services, and they cant leave the pups all alone with no owner so they would all get taken away lol. SERIOUISLY WHERE ARE RYDERS PARENTS ;-;

I saw it today with my 4 year old and I was surprised how decent it was! Action scenes were really well made,good stuff.
